Shrug helps you see better results from your time spent in the gym by making it easy to track your lifts so that you're performing progressive overload - the gradual increases in weight, reps, or other measures of intensity that force your body to adapt. Shrug is simple, free, and doesn't hide any of its features behind a subscription.
I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time!
This is the first genuinely easy, simple workout log I’ve seen for iOS: it has a clean layout, everything’s easy to find and adding exercises is simple. And it’s free!
This is really good.

So close to perfect
This app truly nails the simplicity for tracking my gym performance.
There are only a few things stopping me from fully committing to it:
Exercises and Progress tabs coming soon. These two features - I assume - will allow me to view my workout history on each individual exercise. Tracking my workouts through this app is a breeze, but it’s not very helpful if I can’t view my history of performance for each exercise. If this comes, automatic 5 star.
No presets or programming. It would be a good time saver to be able to load up my same group of 5 workouts that I do every Tuesday for example. From there, I can just edit the weight and reps for that exact gym session.
Right now, this app is just really good for writing down my performance in the gym, and going back and seeing exactly what I wrote down exercise by exercise - one by one. It’s well designed, but not much more than a compressed notepad as is.
I’m just wondering when “coming soon” is! I have high hopes!
