Static_Voices,
I’m constantly getting an error
So I love the app and the content of the app, however i keep receiving an error that says

“could not read data because it is not in the correct format” I’m not sure if it’s because I use iPhone or if something just isn’t operating correctly with the app itself on my device.

Idk what this error means (other then a formatting issue) but when I get this error it won’t let me check my messages or notifications without closing out and refreshing the app. It’s more of an inconvenience then a complaint, perhaps something that should be looked into.
The Real CoCo Butter,
CRASH!!!
Love the concept. The idea is so much better than using Facebook and finding horror groups to join. An app that connects all horror fans? Sign me up. Just got wind of this app and downloaded it. Seemed slow to start up, but that’s not the problem. I tried numerous times to make my first post, but every time, it just crashed. I would totally love to be a part of this, but the app just won’t let me. I thought maybe there was a web version I could use, but there isn’t. If this gets fixed, I will change my rating, but as I’ve said, I can’t even make my first post.
UPDATE: I got the app working better, but it still runs very slow, if at all. Still have trouble posting pictures when they’re a day or so older. I have to screen shoot it from my own photos to make it a new photo to upload. Again, concept is great. Been able to connect with a lot of really cool people, it just needs an update to run faster, recognize older photos, and to upload videos from your library without having to share as a link from other video platforms.
Hoochiegonzales,
Fun but buggy
So far it’s a fun way to connect with your fellow horror fans, but it’s still buggy (from what I’ve used so far). The messaging aspect is just not there yet. While you receive a pop up notification (if you allow it from the app) of messages, there’s no actual message button to check what messages you have and from who. Right now it’s set up that you have to actually go into your friends profile and click messages to see any correspondence. This is really frustrating since there no notification that there is actually a new messages without clicking into it, and no message center without clicking into a profile. Also the message notification clears, so you can’t see who sent you one if you cleared the notification by mistake.

Could be good but there’s a lot of stuff that needs to be fixed to make it usable on a regular basis.
45todaygrowth,
My little review...
Anyone that is is put of the culture of the horror community will feel right at home here. Damon has created a place for us “special” people out there that like our music heavy, our movies gory and our monster smashing in the isles of dark humor. I have made so many friends on this app and continue to make new ones everyday! With a huge robust community of like minded people you never feel out of place and will always find each other lifting each other up.

Thank you Damon for giving us this little corner of the digital world.

A Horror Fan’s Home away from Home
One pet peeve that I have with certain social media fan pages is that there isn’t much complexity the types of posts. That is not the case with this app. There are so many people with many different interests from pure fans, to those that aspire to or work within this beloved industry. While there are aspects about the app that need to be updated, the potential is already here and I plan to stay with this app for long haul. I’m very glad I found this app, and I think you will too.
darknessofmystery,
Against the grain (in a good way!!)
I’ve joined up early on and saw the initial vision of the creator Damon. He is very active on the app looking to help people network and genuinely connect with one another over the bonding from horror and it’s sub genres. The Slasher app provides agency to those that feel uneasy or can be seen as distanced from other social media experiences due to the subculture of the horror community. I have found a new home along with more fulfilled connections than I have made over the months growing with Slasher and the community!
Renee Dodd,
Amazing app, have patience
Yes, this app does have some lags or glitches when it gets really busy, but that’s only because it has had a huge influx of users that the app is working very hard to keep up with. The new users are there because the app is amazing and the people are amazing and it is attracting more and more friendly horror people. Be patient! It won’t be slow forever!
Goregeosity,
Great concept—buggy as can be...
I love the concept behind this app and am excited to network with the people there, but it’s soooooo buggy. Lots of crashes, failures to load, not updating seen push notifications, one random person whose friend request kept appearing no matter how many times I accepted her, so the I eventually became annoyed and blocked her profile to avoid the constant notification—sorry _OfDeath! It wasn’t personal! I want to give it the benefit of the doubt and have patience. As the bugs get sorted out, it will be awesome, I think!
ChrisWritesReviews,
Love the app, but...
I’ve been using this since day one and absolutely love it. Great work on what you’re doing, the only issue I have is the movies and podcasts sections, I can go into those sections but can’t click on any of the movies or podcasts in the lists. It just lets me scroll the list. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue but I just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks for making such a great app.
The Sun Paulso Rises,
Error Messages and Tons of Lag
I was so looking forward to this new horror community app after hearing Joe Bob Briggs mention it on an episode of his Last Drive-In Show on Shudder. Quite disappointed with the app, to be honest. It took a bit of time just to register, and once everything was taken care of on that front I still have run into lag as well as the repeated error message of, “Data could not be read,” or something like that on my iPhone. The bugs from Creepshow have crept up on this app and Upson Pratt is not around to do away with them. What ever shall be done?
