Awesome app for saltwater fishing
I have been using the web-based Smart Fishing Spots app for over a year and am happy to finally get the native app. This app has tons of great information to help you locate fish and understand the best times to fish. The tide charts are easy and convenient to access. Multiple satellite imagery options ensure accurate visuals of the area, and the shaded relief layer provides another view with even more intel. The oyster bars layer is a game-changer for the area I primarily fish. Having this information not only helps me locate spots for fishing, but also keeps my boat and prop safe!

New smart spots app 10 out of 10!
Whether you are new to fishing, or an advanced angler! Salt strong has knocked it out of the park on this one! Smart spots used to be a web app. However, they have since upped their game and made it an app! This app is an all in one, one stop shop for slapping up on the fish! Look for the spot you want to fish on any given day, and it will show you the weather, as well as tides, all while still showing you the spot in particular you want to fish! Highly recommend this app for anyone who loves to fish!

Big Improvement!
I have been using the previous web version of Smart Fishing Spots consistently. The app is a big improvement, the new interface is a lot quicker and cleaner to navigate when I’m on my kayak. I’m a fairly seasoned angler and find this app particularly helpful when trying to fish new areas. I moved to the west coast of FL and struggled finding new spots. Once I found a decent one, I just went there every trip with mixed results. Now I can fish new spots every weekend based on where the app says will be productive.

Great for nearshore and inshore
I fish nearshore and I love the shaded relief / bottom mapping layers so I can find ledges and structure. It has artificial reefs conveniently marked as well. Best tide chart I’ve found that shows you weather (wind, wind direction and temps) combined with the tide chart so you can really get an idea of how the day will pan out in conjunction with the tides.
Smart Spots makes it a no-brainer to help me put my kids on fish without putting a lot of time into planning or figuring out where to go. I know I can check the smart spots map prior to heading out on my computer and then while on the water I can pull up the app to see which area to fish so my kids can experience some tight lines!
Cool thing with the membership is I also get discounts on my tackle and shipping is crazy/amazon fast.

Amazing Map Layers
As an inshore saltwater fisherman, I am a huge fan of using satellite maps for finding good spots. The map layers in this system are by far the best I have ever seen since it has 3+ sat images for any given spot, and also even has oyster and seagrass layers to help find hidden structure. If you like inshore saltwater fishing, you’re going to love this app!

Florida focused, barely useful; lacks features
This app has a long way to go before it’s useful for anglers outside of Florida. If you’re not in FL, you’ll probably want to keep using apps like Navionics.
The layers (only 3 of them) have very shallow uses and the ‘smart spots’ function is only available for FL and southern states. If you use the app on desktop you’ll note a lot of features are missing on this mobile version. Overall UX isn’t great.
Salt strong deserves kudos for trying to innovate in an industry as stuck in the past as fishing, but there is huge untapped potential here.

The Best Fishing App Period!!
I’ve been using the web version for over a year and I never plan a trip without it. This app has everything you need when it comes to fishing. My favorite feature is the Smart Spots where it shows the places you should be fishing, and it’s accurate!

It’s almost like cheating
This app makes it SO easy to find great spots for redfish, trout, snook & flounder that it’s almost unfair! It has everything you could possibly want or need: tides, wind, oyster bars, sea grass, 4K satellite view and more. Heck the “Smart Spots” feature even TELLS you where the best spots are. It’s an inshore angler’s DREAM. For the price, it’s a total no- brainer.

Super fast and easy to use on the water. Has everything you need in one place, from weather and tide charts to actual hot spots where you can catch some fish. I’m telling you, fish don’t stand a chance with this in your pocket!
