SMS Expert is for professionals that want to make themselves accessible to their customers via confidential SMS and also need to balance personal privacy with that availability. It will upload your contacts to the application automatically (you can add separate ones directly in the app as well).
Why use SMS Expert instead of other texting apps? Our unique features for professionals are Grouping, Rules, and Auto-Replies. First, you group your contacts how you wish, and create auto-reply rules for those groups. Easy drag and drop for configuration of rules and groups. After setting up your groups you can take advantage of some of our unique features including:
- Anonymous Group Send, where you can send a text to everyone in a group, but no one can see who else got that message, and replies back are only to you
- Favorites, where you can save a reply or part of a reply for future use.
- Customized auto-replies to individuals or groups
- Printing, where you can print an entire conversation or just the new parts of it, for documentation purposes.

This version brings significant changes! Communication with your clients/patients is now done with a free companion application, called SMS Expert Lite. You can send invites to your contacts and they use the invite code to register. As a result of this streamlined process, we have reduced our price significantly!

Bug Fixes:
1. When adding and removing contacts from groups, groups from contacts, or rules from groups (all using the assigned/unassigned list) there was a race condition that could case the application to crash and as a result the list in question could be erased.

Groups Screen:
• Each group in the list has a count for the number of contacts next to it in parenthesis.
Rules Screen:
• When creating a rule, you can specify “All Day” instead of having to define the start/end times for a given day. This effectively replaces a start time of 12:00am and end time of 11:59pm.
Message Screen:
• Images. You can now send images in your communications. Just tap the image button and choose your image. You can then tap send or type in a message to accompany your image before sending. Only one image upload at a time is supported.
• Favorites. If you want to save a response you have sent in the past, whether it is a link to an article, a book recommendation, or just something you want to be able to find and resend in the future, you can tap any bubble you have sent and the text will come up highlighted. In that box you can then tap “Add to favorite”, or you can select a subsection of that text before adding. Additionally, from the messages screen you can tap “Favorites” at the bottom to manage this list and use saved favorites in your conversations.
• Send Status. When sending a text, it will now show one of three statuses:
○ Delivered – The message was sent to the recipient’s cell phone provider, and was successfully send to the recipient.
○ Delayed – The message was sent to the recipient’s cell phone provider, but not yet relayed to the recipient.
○ Failed – The message was sent to the recipient’s cell phone provider, but not successfully delivered, even after multiple retries by our services.
This status will show in small print just below the text bubble in question.

This is a new screen for version 1.1. It allows you to change the following:
• First and Last Name
• Your real cell phone number
• Your email address (and as a result your login id)
• Your password
• Your time zone (moved from the settings screen in v1.0)

Transformative app
This transformed my practice. Who hasn’t wanted auto text responses that you can customize and change? I have LONGED, for example, for texts to send an out of office response like an email would. And you can. send a text that that blind copies as many people as you would like, but the receiver doesn’t know that and can only respond to you.
