Total Life Changer
This App changed my life - without a doubt. When I knew I needed to make a change and get sober I was ready as I was ever going to be except I had no clue where to start. With the world being so digital, I picked up my phone and started looking up the best Apps for sobriety. I downloaded about 5 that night. I quickly deleted the ones that just weren’t what I needed. As soon as I started watching the conversations and how it worked, I knew I had found Support. It was the first glimpse of hope I had. I used the “Talk to Someone Now” feature and was immediately connected with someone who helped me find the right Recovery Center for me to get treatment. Because of Sober Sidekick, this extremely daunting and scary decision of mine became so easy and there was someone there by my side the whole time. I completed an IOP program and am 515 days sober today.
Without Sober Sidekick I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this.
When you don’t know where to turn, who to reach out to, what friends or family to talk to at 3am when you’re struggling…..you have hope and a family all within this App. 🩵
Swraiin,
A life saver
I’m 3 days sober now and I remember my first day so clearly, it wasn’t even the withdrawals that were really bad this time. My mental health was taking a huge toll, depression and anxiety to the point it was completely debilitating. I felt scared, alone and I couldn’t tell anyone due to the sheer embarrassment of “here he goes again” the shame hits hard. I’m not even sure how I found the app, but I’m really glad I did. The community is all about self love and supporting each other through the early stages of withdrawal and recovery. Most new users “like myself” started at 24 hrs sober. And I find it amazing that we’ll all get to watch our little timers go up everyday. Everyday gets better, and this app allows you to do it with a loving community. Like others have said this isn’t a full recovery thing or rehab, it wasn’t meant to be. It does exactly what it’s intended to do, make you feel loved in a very dark time.
Hat outta Bell,
My Stupid Opinion!
Howdy, I think this is a great app and its intentions are great for someone who is trying to recover, however I think there should be an option for how many notifications we receive (I’ve tried lookin, I can’t seem to find it, maybe it’s there). But I woke up this morning to 5 different notifications asking me to send support to people talking about pretty…hard things to read. As someone who just started this journey, I’m not quite ready to be witness to some of these things, let alone be able to send support to my other recovering homies. I think if you’re in the beginning stages of sobering up there should be a slow push on how much suggested support you send to others. This is obviously my personal opinion, I feel like a selfish a hole saying all this. Does this make any sense¿

The love and support is real
This app is beautiful in every way imaginable. In theory and execution because it’s so simple, easy to use, and is an excellent way to connect members of our society. For those who have trouble reaching out - this is the easiest and most effective way to change that for the better.
The concept of giving and receiving support makes a world of a difference on those not so easy days we all have in recovery. It makes being of service an accomplishable goal just giving 5 mins of your day can change someone’s outlook for the better. So very blessed to have a member recommend this app. Will be sure to recommend it to others. Thanks! Much appreciated 🙏

Difficult to navigate
Honestly, I have to say wow the users are great and I love getting the alerts and responding. When I can figure out how to do so, the UI in this app is one of the worst I’ve ever seen it’s a difficult to navigate there’s not a lot of explanation and most of the time I just get frustrated and stop interacting so the poor user interface is affecting the ability for the members to communicate and share and help and comment. I would recommend the developer take a look at the interface and maybe just build it from scratch. As an app developer of myself I would never ever leased a product with this kind of user interface it’s overly complex difficult to navigate and create user frustration, which means users won’t use it and some of these people including me really need that kind of support. So I think the developer should take a hard look and do something to make it right. But that’s just one guys opinion.
plgaudrey,
Thanks for being here
Totally helped me
Feel more at ease and at the beginning this stuff is so hard to get over my new opiate addiction but the program In an app zoomed two meetings saw the love when I was crawling out of my skin. And told others it’s ok to just hold on the moment will pass. I’m hard time to find meetings and groups when everyone is dying from fent and everything is legal. I don’t think i can express gratitude enough except to make sure I spread the word. My woman even downloaded the app and she was the one not so ready to get sober cause of going to meetings and meeting In person. If there was a godly app it’s this one. Thanks again helping me to 5 days just today.

Supportive and easy to use!!!
I absolutely adore this app! It’s a like a mini Facebook for recovering addicts or alcoholics! Even those who just have the desire to get some help with their addiction or other issues they would like to overcome!
It’s simple and straightforward but also has helped me tremendously when I feel like I’m all alone and when I need some support. I received so much kindness! The 24/7 zoom meeting feature is easy to use and very beneficial, at least it is for a once hopeless addict like me. If you want support, advice or just to feel like you’re not alone definitely give this app a chance!!

Scouser Sue,
A true and honest site
In this world where authenticity is hard to find and everything seems to lead to the bottom line….give me your money, this site is a lifesaver for those who need support while recovering from addiction, whatever form that takes. Some of the posts are heart wrenching, some are hopeful and encouraging. They all reflect the journey we all take to cope with life in general and how we all need help to carry on. I am thankful to the folk who run it and the folk who share their stories. If you are struggling with an addiction, this is the place to go, just to know you are not alone.
