Description

It's easy to consume too much sodium, and high consumption is linked to high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, chronic kidney disease, osteoporosis, stomach cancer, and swelling of the feet and legs. The app will set the Chronic Disease Risk Reduction Level (CDRR) provided in the US Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020-2025, which depends on your age, as your default daily sodium target. You can change this target at any time (see App Preview 1).
Record the foods/beverages and amounts you eat using the barcode scanner, dictation (touch the microphone icon), favoriting foods, or search (see App Preview 2) and using the serving sizes provided. The serving sizes are mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central, but can be changed at any time. Your progress towards your target daily intake will be visible immediately in real-time.
You can also view your progress over time on the Month view dashboard, and export food diaries and sodium intake into a spreadsheet for your own information or to share with healthcare providers.
Synchronize the app with all your Apple devices and First Line Medical Communications Ltd apps. Apple's HealthKit functionality is integrated in the app's user interface so you can share data with Apple's Health app.
The app is curated and contains 325+ common (mainly healthy) foods and drinks and you can add your own branded and other foods and recipes at any time using the barcode scanner, dictation, or the keyboard. This means that provided you add your barcoded foods to the app via the "Add food" tab the app can function without access to the Internet (it will need access to the internet and OpenFoodFacts.org if a barcode is not in the app's database).
Also useful nutritional information via the Info tab (see App Preview 3).
The interface is intuitive to navigate, but you may find it useful to familiarise yourself with the full functionality of the app by touching the icons, words, and bars on every screen and swiping left and right on the Tracker screen.

multicar man,

Very limited data base for foods

Don’t Purchase - Worthless!
I purchased the DASH Diet bundle a couple of days ago, and I deeply regret spending $7.99 for this. There are no portion sizes listed with the corresponding mg of sodium so that I can track my partner’s sodium intake each day (he was recently diagnosed with CHF, and it’s critical that he restrict his daily sodium intake). The apps are horrible and there is no ease of use. I would like my money refunded!!!
Former Acme shopper,
I want my money back.
Useless. Foods only evaluated on weight. How much does a tablespoon of mayonnaise weigh? Who knows. Who cares. Do not try. Do not buy.
