Version history

7.26
2023-10-01
1) "Card Rotations" On/Off switch is back in the Settings screen.
2) Added a Card "Dragging Height" option in the Settings screen that allows you to adjust the visual height of the cards above the play area when they're dragged around the screen. This adjusts the appearance of the cast shadows.
7.25
2023-08-31
1) The 7.24 update would crash after creating a new background or card back using the camera or from the photo album.
2) Removed "Card Rotations" and "Card Shadows" from the Settings screen that appears when you press the cog wheel during game play.
3) New backgrounds - Aged Wood, Kittens, Puppies and Dolphins.

Bug Fixes in 7.24

1) Game Center stopped working when updating iOS because a "What's New in Game Center" screen would briefly appear and then disappear behind the user interface preventing the "Continue" button from being pressed.
2) On iOS 16, if you paused the game and changed your device orientation then the screen would mess up.
3) If you replayed a game with scoring turned off and then won the game and then chose to play another game, the same cards would be dealt again.
4) Some of the help message boxes were lingering around during Training.

7.12
2017-11-20
1) Sometimes, on iOS 11, there would be a long pause after pressing the Play button and eventually the game screen would appear.

3) Added some more country flags.
7.11
2017-11-06

4) Total of All Games Played got reset to zero in 7.10 (this will be recovered)
5) You can now lock the Training button and the Scoring On/Off button from the User Interface section of the Settings screen to prevent fat fingers accidentally pressing them.
6) The Play button would sometimes stop working.
7) In Cribbage Squares, a Flush was only scored when all five cards were the same suit for 5 points whereas the correct rules should score 4 points if the four cards excluding the Starter are the same suit. This has been corrected.

Best Child is Me,
Amazing Game
PLEASE READ THIS WILL GIVE YOU LOTS OF INFORMATION

I got this game thinking it was just going to be a classic Klondike solitaire game. I soon found out that it actually had 20 different games. It has games like Spider, Free Cell, and just normal solitaire.

One thing is that it also has different settings so you can change cards backs on them as well as the font and size of them and the backgrounds for the game.

Another thing is that this game has setting to change the difficulty so you can make it was or harder.

This game does have ads but 3 second ones which you can quickly exit them and it is super easy.

This game also does not require any money for ANYTHING. It is super easy and great.

There is also a leaderboard to compare your scores to other players.

I also came to the game only knowing how to play regular solitaire. I tried some new games and they have instructions for each game if you want them. I now know 19 more solitaire games then before. If you don’t know how to play any games I completely 100% recommend solitaire city.

I really love this game and it is so much more than just another card game app. I really do love this game. I really do recommend this.
KDC33,
This is my favorite app, but....
I’ve had this app since my first iPhone. It’s the one I play every day. It’s my go to while waiting in the doctor’s office. I get super excited when they add new games (which they haven’t done in a long time, now that I think of it). BUT... I’ve now paid twice to remove the ads. And they keep coming back. That’s so scammy!! It is the pebble in my shoe that bugs me. And since I play every day, it bugs me every day. How greedy do you have to be? And how many times am I going to have to pay to remove the ads? Be honest with me & in your advertising. Say, for example, “This will remove ads for two years and/or until we indiscriminately decide to put them back.” It would still be irritating, but at least it would be honest....

Update: Received a less than helpful response from developers saying the ads are my mistake. I DO have two Solitaire Cities on my phone. One whose copyright expired in 2017 & one through 2021. So I’m supposed to be using the version that expired in 2017? Come one now! Don’t blame me for your error! That makes it feel even more scammy! I’m not the only one that noted this in their review. I guess we’re all wrong? Just admit you want me to pay again.
hopefull but not excited,
They fixed it quick
I use this app at least once a day, and have for a long time so I must think it is good. I keep only a handful of game apps on my iPad. There was a problem with the last update that is mentioned below, as I was making that post an update was released that fixed it. Good work! Someone else must have commented about it. Anyway nice distraction. I’ll keep playing.

This last update requires that you choose to turn off scoring every time you open the app. Wrong move. …
fibfarah,
Solitaire City
One of the best apps I have tried!
My only criticism is that when you hit the “new game” button, it immediately starts a new game. Since this button is very close to the top of the screen, I have accidentally hit it while rearranging my iPad and have therefore lost the game I was working on. I suggest adding a warning such as “do you really want to leave this game” before erasing the present game.
Thanks…I have played this game for years and enjoyed it immensely!

Great Collection
I've had this app for years now. I just upgraded to the "new" version and it still has all my high scores and statistics. Most ads are non-invasive, just full screen ads when you win a game (not if you lose!). These games are a great way to pass a few minutes while waiting for people or in bed trying to get sleepy. After long breaks I always go back to it. Updates have always improved the app. Overall, I really enjoy this app.
2Jane,
Fun, solid games
I've learned some great new games with this! I never knew there were so many versions of solitaire. It works great on the iPad, and the layout is big and bright on the iPhone too. Perfect for zoning out when you wake up in the night and want to empty your brain of that weird dream so you can go back to sleep. Thanks to Digital Smoke for this free app, with not-to-many ads! I'd upgrade to the paid version if my iCloud account was not malfunctioning...
Miss Kaytay,
Love This App
This is my go-to app whenever I have a “sit and wait” moment. It offers a wide range of fun card games. Whenever I get bored with one, I simply try out another one. It’s managed to keep me entertained on a daily basis for almost 5 years now! The set-up of this app is logical, it rarely has glitches, and while the free version has ads, the placement of them is not annoying.
now here this,
Now Here This
I am unhappy because I had an ad free game you made me upgrade because said mtother wasn’t supported. Now I have ads. I had paid for no ads and cannot see doing it again. I am 79 years old and enjoy my games but do not enjoy you ads for other games. If I want another game I am perfectly capable of getting a new game. This was an unfair bait and switch on me.
Pastagirl of Galadrial,
Best Solitaire EVER
Highly recommend! It's the only Solitaire I play now & I tried many. Lots of variety, tutorials, & great scoring so you can compete with yourself. More different games than others. If you get tired of the "celebration" after the win, just hit "end game" to stop & get your score. Absolutely love this APP!! But warning, its highly addictive. Definitely the BEST!!
everyting I write is taken,
My favorite game is gone
I have been playing the same game in Solitaire CIty for years and yesterday it was just gone. A single deck of cards, Object to get the suits collected from Ace up. A row of 7 cards was dealt first one face up, second one down and one up, third 3 down and one up and so on. The move among the rows was alternating red and black in descending suits aiming to get the cards face down turned up and exposing the cards to build on the aces. I would play the same game over and over until I won and some games I could not win. It kept my attention like no other.
