No Sound
I love using Marty's videos and have learned a lot from them. I found these apps and decided to download them but both I've downloaded has no sound. I can see the video, but there is no sound. I am using my iPhone. Is anyone else having this issue?

Absolutely love it! Also those who can’t hear the sound. I had the same problem. Until I turned on my ringer button on the phone. This has to be on to hear it. Thanks

I didn't know any scales until this app. It is good for teaching some of the basics to soloing. He is able to go slow and explain it good enough to understand quickly.
My issue was he expects the viewer to know a few things, like a certain scale that I had not seen before. He does this in the first lesson video. My next issue is randomly in the lesson he goes off doing his own solo. I'm trying to follow his fingers trying to learn the scale, and then I loose it when he suddenly shoots off into a completely different solo.

Not Necessarily for Beginners... but
Anyone who is willing to sit down and talk with you to give ANY tips for ANY amount of time should be thanked. These do a good job, and you can watch on your own schedule. Good tips are given, BUT as usual, learning to solo takes hours upon hours of work by the guitarist.

I'm a fan
Perhaps this particular app wasn't designed for fledglings who have just picked up the instrument for the first time (they should direct their attention to the Beginners Guitar Lessons app), but it is a terrific app for that middle-of-the-road types who really want to expand their knowledge and capabilities with then guitar.
I think even the most advanced players wouldn't mind at least brushing up on some of the lessons you'll find here. And to top it off, it's bloody FREE!

This guy is personally responsible for helping me learn the next direction on guitar. He's great at teaching and this app certainly helps with that. The app needs some work but it's a start with some great things. Thanks a lot!

NOT for beginners
The description claims this app will teach you to play even if you have never touched a guitar before. Is is untrue. The very first lesson starts by throwing around jargon, and even explicitly states that it will not teach you how to do the basic -- "hopefully you have that already." Very disappointing for a beginner. Might be OK for more experienced guitarists though.

Was not very happy with this...
I play guitar. I downloaded this app for iPad. Some lessons here and there... Then the 900 free lessons. They aren't really free, only for 3 days. And you can't really view these on this app itself.......
I know he's trying to make sales.... But I feel deceived and feel too much that he's just trying to REALLY sell something! :(
