Soundwaves is a client for the Subsonic music server.
Soundwaves focuses on simplicity, making it the ideal client to connect your iPad or iPhone to your home theater setup.
Optionally setting a suitable max bit rate, enables Soundwaves to work well even over a bandwidth limited connection (e.g. a mobile connection). It will also play nicely with your car radio, connected via USB, Bluetooth or CarPlay.
In addition to audio formats natively supported by iOS (e.g. mp3, AAC), Soundwaves can also play FLAC, Opus and Ogg Vorbis content.
Soundwaves can also play movies from your Subsonic server, as long as they are in a supported format (.mov, .mp4, .mpv, .3gp) or a proper transcoding has been configured on the server.
Soundwaves works with other media servers which implement the same Subsonic API's, such as Madsonic, Airsonic, Supysonic, LMS or Ampache.
Note about privacy: tracking only happens when using the free, ad-supported version. Removing ads via the in-app purchase also stops tracking and data collection.

Some flac can play, some not. And all flac above 3000kbps failed to play

Flawless AirSonic Client
This app is incredible and simple … perfectly integrates with subsonic/airsonic instances, searching is reliable and fast, playlists work flawlessly, and the system caching works very well while on spotty LTE / mobile connections. Very good!

Best free Subsonic client for iOS
Fast, simple music client for Subsonic servers. Does what it needs to and nothing more.
Feels a little old-fashioned as far as media players go. I would have preferred the ability to play directly from the library browser rather than having to add songs to a temporary playlist first (reminds me of the foobar & Winamp days.)
Could also use some visual polish to really feel at home on iOS, but for a free app it's hard to complain. Very happy this exists.

There are better apps for free
I appreciate the effort of getting this on the app store but it’s too basic and doesn’t play any of my flacs.

Simple is excellent
I love the app. If you are looking for an app to simply play your music from your subsonic server, look no further. It's not flashy, but who needs flashy to effectively listen to music. It handles my 4K+ artist, 100k+ song library easily. I tried several other apps for subsonic and none of them worked. I think it's because they were too focused on showing album art and other stuff that affected the ability to just work. This app doesn't get clogged up trying to download album art or other stuff that doesn't matter-- it focuses on allowing me to simply play what I want. Keep up the great work!

If I could, I'd give it zero
So, for a long time I've had Soundwaves and it worked great, if a little slow. Suddenly it stopped working because it's doesn't have a secure connection, and I'm really annoyed. I've reconnected to the server and deleted the app several times, and it's still not working. Am I doing something wrong? I really want to have this music, but it won't let me play anything.
I do not recommend this app, at least not today. If they let out an update or something to fix this, I would recommend it because there are no other apps on the App Store that appear to work. I've tried all the free ones.

Best Subsonic mobile client
This is (still) the best mobile client for your Subsonic server. Reliably connects to your server. Gives quick access to your content. Plays it with great sound quality. It's almost perfect. Wish it had a way to browse by album. Maybe in a future release.

Simple to use!
Intuitive interface and very quick. Connect to a server and make playlists. The caching makes it a gem since I can just cache my songs on my WiFi at home and save my data.

Has potential
ThIs app has potential. Not sure about how you have to add the song to the playlist then click on them to play. But my main concern is all of the artists in the A category are totally cut off if you have any playlists. Fix that and this will be a pretty decent app. And it's free. Thanks for the effort.
