SPECTRUMVIEW
Visualise, in real time, the frequencies that you can hear around you and even those you cannot. SpectrumView provides a high-quality, real-time spectrogram and spectrum analyser display, with a configurable sample rate and frequency resolution for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. You can use this application to measure the highest tones you can sing, obtain visual feedback of the frequencies in your speech, identify an annoying sound, calibrate musical instruments and all sorts of acoustic analysis.
· Refresh Spectrogram. Allows users to refresh the spectrogram so that it clears the spectrogram that had already been displayed.
· Change min and max scale. Allows users to set their own minimum and maximum scale value on the spectrogram and spectrum analyser view, in both linear and log scale.
· Set Recording filename. Recording filenames are editable and the suffix can be set to have an incremental value or date/time.
· Access recordings and snapshots using the "Files" app. To ease the complicated process of accessing recordings and data snapshots using iTunes, all the data can be easily accessible using the "Files" app that is available from iOS 11.
· Web File Transfer. Allows you to access your files from another device using a web browser.
· Logarithmic scale. Allows you to set either linear or logarithmic frequency scales in the Spectrogram and Spectrum Analyser views
· Peak hold. Allows you to freeze and hold the peaks of the frequency envelope (three holds in three distinct colours) in Spectrum Analyser mode
· Save location. Never forget where a clip was recorded – uses the devices location services
· Auto lock disabled. During playback and recordings auto lock is disabled to prevent the device from automatically locking (if enabled), for uninterrupted recording/playback

App doing weird things
Hello! I’ve been using your app now for a month and it’s working very well up until now. When I Download the app it immediately popped in and update in the application which I’ve never seen before when you download an app from the App Store it should already be in the latest version correct? It’s not the latest version important update and if I don’t do the update the app works for two seconds and then it doesn’t work at all literally blank when I’m trying to record!!! I know it’s nothing else it should be picking up the motion of the fan in the room and it won’t even do that.

Good but needs to make results readable
The visuals are both practical and cool to watch. I would love to see the fonts a little larger and much more readable when trying to analyze a peak frequency. It’s possible and freezing and expanding makes it much easier but the font and locating it needs work. Aside from that one gripe I do really like this app.

Crashes - Useless
Using iOS 16.6 on an iPhoneXs, was able to transfer a sound recording from my in-phone files folder to the SpectrumView app. Initially, I could play the file and view the spectrogram. I payed $1.99 just to be able to zoom in on the spectrogram (a ridiculous price for a very basic functionality!) to focus in on specific sounds. Following my attempt to zoom, the app crashed. Now every time I attempt to view the file, the app crashes. Perhaps this is by design as you have to pay $0.99 just to access files from iTunes or SoundCloud (which I also purchased). This app seems useful if only one could use it!

Amazing app
Such a joy to use this app for ear-birding. Love the (paid) option for web browser access to my recordings so I can avoid having to use SoundCloud or other third party site (or email) to get them onto my computer. I do wish there was a batch delete option or even just an option to delete ALL files. And it would be nice if the time stamp and lay/Lon were stored as metadata in the wav file. Still, an awesome app!

The best I’ve found
After trying 3 other highly-rated paid apps in addition to this one, this is clearly the best. Very configurable, no nonsense, WORKS, with easy-to-understand settings, and some features like data export that I haven’t seen in other apps. The only thing lacking is the ability to set the time scale for the spectrogram.

Used to be good
This was my go to spectrum viewer for years. I hadn’t used it recently and when it was restored from iCloud nothing worked! Instead, every button click asked for an in app purchase. There’s also likely a real bug in that nothing appears on the screen.
I’ll be uninstalling and giving my money to another app, as I just can’t support the in-app purchase model for something that should have most basic features enabled out of the box (pinch to zoom, for example).

Useless unless you spend money
Basically useless, as you can only use recorded audio, unless you purchase tons of iAP. Not really surprised since there are no open-sourced or good alternative spectrogram apps that are free for iOS.
Also prompted for things like location, which is completely un-needed.
This is why you should stick to an actual spectrogram program on a real computer, since there are tons of free spectrogram programs for Windows, MacOS and Linux that provide more functionality than this app and all of the other paid spectrogram apps on the App Store.

Microphone bug
I have a 6s plus. The app consistently tells me another application is hijacking the microphone. Directly after hitting either option continue or exit the app crashes. I made sure to close all apps before opening and still crashes. Only way to get it to work is to shut phone off and open spectrogram before any other app is utilized. This worked once.

Good and solid app all around!
The spectrogram is flawless and can be adjusted to my likes. It is HIGHLY accurate compared to other apps that do the same thing. Also the functionality for recording AFAIK is solid and reliable. Great app!

Incredibly handy to 'see' what you play
I've been using SpectrumView based on a recommendation from a friend. Pretty cool to be able to see and measure regularly what I am hearing when I learn to play the piano. Can't say I understand all of its functions but it's a visual delight for a data geek.
