Splashing on Spoutible
🐳💃🏻🕺🏻the iOS app has been approved! I have been active on Spoutible since February. The iOS app is just as jazzy as the web version. There is no algorithm so users create their own level of engagement through following, posting, sharing, quoting others. Users build the community they wish to have. LGBTQ+ & BBIMAP friendly. Welcoming community in general - lots of folks happy to help get oriented & provide pro tips. Great features: edit posts up to 15 min; easy to add photos & GIFs; ALT text for photos (use it!); enhanced account protections (set privacy & engagement levels with other users); easy threading & collaborative threading; fast; developer(s) accessible & interested in user experience; high level data protection; & user friendly. Advise on engagement: create a profile; post “spouts”; find out what’s “#making waves” & add “#spashtags” to posts to help others with common interests find you; create a timeline by exploring, following, sharing (echos); & join in the fun. Find friends & verified favorites in Search. Know that abusive /trolling behaviors common on other sites not tolerated in TOS or by the community. Need any Help from the developers or community just ask! Dive on in the waters fine! 🌱🌸🐳

Safe, Sane, Elegant, and Feature-Rich
This is such a refreshing, aesthetically appealing social media start-up -- NOT CREATED BY A BILLIONAIRE, but by a guy who knows what he's doing when it comes to social media. Bouzy and his team solicited input from a large community in making policy and design decisions, and the current iteration is nothing short of spectacular when you compare it to everything else out there. The only thing it's lacking is instant scale, but hopefully now that all the apps are up and running, it'll only be a matter of time before "content creators" find out what they're missing and come on over to the light. I love the commitment to safety and anti-bullying and targeted harassment. The threads are super elegant, and ❗️you can even do collaborative threads! EDITS -- you can edit your posts AND your replies. What?!? Honestly, none of the other social media apps offer the features that Spoutible does. You can't miss with this one. We just have to get the news outlets and volume creators to join up! Spread the word!

Sick of X, Y and T? Get Spoutible!
I quit Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest because it all became one big life sucking blur. I've been on Twitter forever and really didn't do much on there. I was on there once in a blue moon and saw Spoutible along with a couple of other options (an extinct elephant being one) since uncle Elmo bought the bird. Out of all of them, I have found this app to be better than Twitter and all the other options. Now that they have the iOS app, I can't play with it enough! In fact I have to be careful and tie myself or else I will burn up a whole day. it's functions very well, very smooth and is visually appealing. No loose threads to pull here guys, No need to wait for the bird to take on one of Elmo's kid's names, No Tubes advertisements to drive you nuts, No wooly mammoths to try to sort out - just a cute little blue whale to entertain you and an app that works like a charm.
Farking ticked!!,
Spoutible Rocks. Period.
The most important thing to note here: This app was created by and is run by Christopher Bouzy-the same developer of Bot Sentinel! Therefore, I personally feel a lot safer here than in MuskMelon’s world where the owner is actually doing the same thing as the millions of bots dwelling throughout his platform-spewing nonsense and hatred. Then there’s Zuck’s data-mining and privacy hacking enterprise ’Threads’… both, now feeling threatened as their users are leaving in droves since Mr. Bouzy released his iOS version of the app!

Now, they’re sending their minions here to attempt to destroy Mr. Bouzy’s platform by writing garbage reviews about Spoutible. Hilarious really, given that it’s loaded with features such as:

-The ability to edit your post up to 15 minutes after publishing! Something MuskMelon charges 8 bucks a month for!

-A bot sentinel rating on each profile, which is indicative of the user’s behavior and reputation based on factual data that accumulates based upon their interactions with other users and post content.

-The ability to remove replies to one’s post should it be posted with nefarious intent/purpose. Screw the trolls and bots, right?

Trolling, harassment, spam, and hatefulness are not tolerated. Period.

This, and more, make the overall experience at Spoutible an enjoyable and peaceful one, especially in contrast to the other options available.

Give it a shot! What do you have to lose? Even better, to gain?
diddlestix,
A long way to go
It’s a start, and the idea for the platform is positive. Twitter IS toxic, but its also got much more usefulness at the moment. The atmosphere at Spoutible is definitely more relaxed, at least in the circles I’ve travelled, but there is a definite lean to the platform. I’m ok with all that, seeing where things go as a viable alternative to Twitter. I even donated towards the platform.

From a UI standpoint, the app is very subpar. Things work, and it’s far snappier than the early days of Spoutible. But, it’s clearly not an app built specifically for iOS users. Some basic UI consistency with iOS is missing, making it not natural to use for iPhone people. Beyond that, some of the other UI choices seem really strange. Tapping on a profile thumbnail of someone who liked your post takes you to the post instead of their profile, where you have to click on their thumbnail again, to open a list of people who interacted with your post, so you can click their profile avatar AGAIN to open their profile, for example. There is no swipe functionality and buttons are on the opposite sides of the screen from where iOS usually puts them.

Some basic bugs continue to persist since the release of the app. Notifications are broken. There is always one notification shown on the app thumbnail icon, whether there are 0 notifications, or 100. The iPad app won’t even load a splash screen.

TLDR: there is a lot of promise, but it’s got a LONG way to go.

Great app and a fantastic community!
I’ve been on Spoutible since late February. I’ve not been on a similar social media app, so it was all new to me. The community is fantastic, people are friendly, fun, and supportive of each other. I appreciate Spoutible is so active in keeping it a safe place. We get updates from the CEO himself about any issues, and he often asks for user feedback.

I downloaded the iOS app immediately on my iPhone and iPad. All the features are the same or better than the website. There are a ton of features, including alt text on photos. If there is any issue, it’s already been identified by the time I’m logging in for the day, and I know about it. My favorite thing is the app is the full screen on the iPad, this is where I Spout from most. Download this app and take the dive into Spoutible! 🐳
NikkiDreams,
Fantastic, only one complaint
I absolutely love Spoutible. It is a wonderful, diverse community of civil humans having fun and real conversations. Notebly it lacks the trolls and hate of most other platforms. People have heated debates, but it is not a free-for-all dumpster fire like some other social apps. And there are currently no ads and absolutely zero porn! The performance is great. The UI is superb. Bugs are fixed quickly considering the small team of devs doing the work. The app is exceptional in most ways with new or improved features rolling out regularly.

My ONLY complaint is the font size. It is much too small for older users and probably some younger ones with vision impairments. There is currently no way to increase the font size. This absolutely needs to be fixed soon.

That's it. Enjoy the community and civil discourse.

Spoutible
i have been on Spoutible since day 2 in february using the website.. yesterday i got the app .. Spoutible’s appearance (clean and attractive using ocean colors) and location of features (very easy to understand and learn) are the same on website and app, making transitions seamless .. the only thing i noticed that’s different is the website allows me to zoom in, which i use often, and app does not allow me to zoom in .. i create followers lists and need to copy handles onto the lists .. i zoom in to copy handles on the website and cannot zoom in to copy handles on the app .. i am hoping this will be adjusted but in the meantime i will jump from website to app seamlessly as needed .. thank you for all the work CBouzy and developers team have done to make Spoutible a reality and a platform to truly love.

Safe and sane
This app has surpassed all my expectations. The platform is a safe place for all people. Trolls and jerks are promptly dismissed. The con is are friendly and the folks there really do engage. On top of all this, there are plenty of bells and whistles, with more on the way. For example, your messages are automatically numbered when you thread a string of spouts (messages). You can explore different profiles without an algorithm dictating your experience. None of your data is sold. This is user-supported, so new features are requested and vetted by us as users. I can see what is trending and check out the buzz, send direct messages, and invite others to comment on a thread jointly (as in an event or conference setting). This is such a breath of fresh air.
SparklyB,
Great new social media app
I’ve been using the web based Spoutible site from its launch. So I was really pleased when the iOS app was finally available as it meant it was much easier for me to access it in app form then the web.

Spoutible took all the best parts of what Twitter had to offer and made a more inclusive platform, that doesn’t tolerate hate of any kind. It’s easy to navigate, links work exceptionally well and it’s easy to share media. All of the toxicity that had become commonplace on social media is gone. What is left is healthy and varied discourse with people who are not coming to social media to troll, argue in bad faith or spam.

What I loved was the fact that as users we were asked our input right from the start. We were allowed to vote on what we wanted to see, and how we wanted the app to be. Even choosing the name and appearance.

It’s a welcome relief and a solid place to share viewpoints and connect with others in an easy to use format with great features. Excited to see how much further this app can go.
