This update fixes an issue where imported Rewards/Props missing a Category would fail to import.

Categories are what Tags should have been from the beginning; fully customizable indexes for you to organize your Rewards and Props. We're putting the power of organizing completely in your hands.

Notable differences between Categories and Tags are:
- A given Category only exists for either Props OR Rewards. This addresses the 'empty row'/'missing rewards' confusion that was introduced in a recent update.
- Rewards/Props can only be assigned to one Category at a time, so you will only ever see any given reward in one place on that screen, ever. We hope this provides a more straightforward experience.
- Categories will allow you to drill in deeper, almost like a folder for rewards/props; Tap on the category name to see a screen of all items for that category. This way you won't have to scroll endlessly on that single tiny row if you have many rewards or props assigned to the category.
- Tags, which used to serve the organizing purpose, now act only as searchable terms that help you find specific Rewards/Props that much more quickly.

Thank you for using Stars 2 Apples!

Another update with bug fixes and small improvements!

This time around, keep an eye out for:
- Props can now always rotate! No matter what, even when when navigating to them from a Reward with a locked orientation (Landscape or Portrait)
-Added ability to save images from rewards to the phone's photos app. Tap the saved image to bring up the usual menu with "load from photo library" and "delete image" options, and now there will be a new option to "save to photo library"
- Fixed a bug where imported rewards with the same internal ID would overwrite each other. Now you are instead presented with the choice to overwrite the previous reward or to make a new separate one
- Fixed and issue where the "No Students" empty state would sometimes appear erroneously
- When editing/making a Reward, the "Reward Not Ready" alerts now show all missing requirements before the reward can be saved instead of showing only the one next missing requirement
- Now allowing "-" character in tags
- Classrooms now sort alphabetically by default
- Updated drag and drop behavior for image lists in edit reward screen
- Fixed crashes that happened when tapping the "i" icons in the edit reward screen
- Fixed some UI hiccups when switching templates in the edit reward screen

It may not look like much at first, but look closely and you will see many small changes that add up to a large update!

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a crash that happened when trying to create a Tic Tac Toe reward.
- Creating a new schedule now correctly remember the day you were on in the calendar view when you started the new schedule.
- Hidden Rewards/Props can now be found again at the very bottom of the Rewards/Props dashboard views.

Updates:
- The spotlight-esque tutorial has been replaced with a tooltip-esque tutorial! As new features are added in the future, keep an eye out for new tool tips that point out new features.
- The tag picker now allows for multiple tag section, and a more straightforward interface for adding new tags.
- You can now create "Classrooms" for students as way to group certain students together. You can make as many classrooms as you want, and can move students between the classrooms whenever you want. However you want to organize them, you now have the power to do so!
- Along with that, on the Student dashboard screen, you can drag-and-drop students between different classrooms, or press and hold for edit and delete shortcuts.
- The edit button at the top-left of the Reward/Prop dashboard screens is gone. Now, whenever you want to Edit or Share one of these Reward/Prop items, simply press and hold on the item and a context menu will appear. From this menu you can choose to View, Edit, or Share the item!
- The Reward/Prop dashboard screens have been reworked to be more performant. If you have high numbers of Rewards or Props, this should help to load the screens more quickly!
- Additionally on the same screens, you will notice that when you do not have Rewards/Props for a given tag, there will now be an empty row instead of skipping the row.

As well as other stability updates and optimizations under the hood that lay the foundation for large future updates.

Teacher Marianne,
Great app, well worth the money
I think this is a great app for online teaching. I don’t see $10 being a steep price for it. I think I can spend what I make in one class for an awesome app that I would repeatedly use. To the developers, great job! An app like this was long overdue. I haven’t had any bugs. I have been using it for all my classes since I bought it. I use it for rewards and extensions: “what do you see?” What I would like, or recommend, are some tutorials on how to add more rewards. I know this is meant to be a growing collaborative app since we can add rewards and share them. Therefore a more extensive tutorial would be awesome. Also, my students love the fact that stars pop at them for FAS. Can we get the same effect when they win at Tic-tac-toe? My last recommendation, guess my word is awesome!!! SUPER KUDOS FOR THAT!!! But I would love for the letters to be bigger. Thanks.
Robin the teacher,
Many rewards in one place
This is a great reward system for online ESL teachers. There is a variety of topics that rewards and props are offered for. I like that there are rewards that can be used for younger students as well as older students. My older students like the find a star rewards. If I were to make a suggestion to make the app even better, maybe the creator could add a school theme, a weather Theme, and a reward where people could be dressed in different clothes according to the weather or season. I would be happy to buy another app by the creator. I am very impressed. Thanks.
Jake Brewster's Truffle Piggy,
Don’t do it
Ugh. I am waiting for updates. So much more can be done with this app that online teachers of English would pay so much for. Now there’s a bug where the find a star wont load. The app has made me look like a bumbling idiot several times this week when i pulled it up to see just a blank white screen. I didn’t think it could be more worthless. The matching games were fun for my little students but Jeeze my regulars were sick of fruit and farm and pets. I went and got some free memory game apps that are free and are keeping my older kids and regulars excited again with 30+ choices and themes. Did I really pay $10 for this? So disappointing and adding your own rewards sounds good in theory but the process is tortured. It’s easier to pull out a printed find a star reward that you can find online for free many times with magnet numbers. This app is a daily disappointment.
CynFP,
Awesome tool for ESL classroom
I read about this app on a VIPKid FB post and checked it out. Bought it and have been playing with it for the last hour. No more hunting the Dollar Tree & Target dollar spot for props and rewards & no more printing/cutting/laminating props and rewards. I wish I would have known about this when I first started with VIPKid. $10 on this app vs who knows what I’ve spent in total. The $10 is totally worth it. Has everything you need and super easy to create/add more. Thank you, this is much easier to use IMO than the google slides.
sIAM2,
AMAZING APP!
I am always hesitant to digital rewards in the classroom. But after reading about this one, I decided to give it a try. I purchased this app earlier this week, used it on two different days with different students. I have already received 2 5-apple reviews with comments that the kids love the seconday reward! And one parent booked an additional class over the next week!!! I have already earned back the $10 purchase price. Thank you Stars 2 Apples!!!
cec7089,
A NECESSITY for online ESL teachers!!
This app has totally changed the game!! I LOVE that I can have all my rewards in ONE place! When I travel or am rushed getting into the classroom I don’t have to worry bc they are all on my phone! The organization for each student is GENIUS! I cannot say thank you enough for creating this! I’m excited to see more props/rewards added eventually :). Maybe days of the week/months flash cards!!?? Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!
G. Camp89,
Love for Vipkid Teaching
I really love this app! The vipkids love it too! Is there anyway that this app will allow you to create new Find a Star games? I would love to create some to go along with the VIPKid lessons. If this was so, it probably would make more teacher want to purchase the app. I have about 15-20 reoccurring kids and now I have run out of things from the app to use....but if we had a Find a Star to you with every lesson, it would be a high demand app for VIPKid Teachers. Even regular classroom teachers in public schools....like myself!
Teacher Jenn DAG,
Love love love!!!
This app is fantastic! I’m a VIPKID teacher. I’m a bit old fashioned and I still like to make my rewards by hand, but there are moments when I feel overwhelmed trying to tailor a reward to my students. With this app all I have to do is tap my screen! The rewards are great and my students love them so far... I really like making rewards as well! The planner is fantastic and so convenient. This helps me breathe a little easier! Thank you!!!!
Disneyfan060316,
Using for over 1 year now!!!
I have been using this app DAILY in my online classroom for over one year. I now use it with two different teaching companies for rewards and props. I’ve also begun using it in my HOMESCHOOLING my toddler to reward his focus and work effort. Amazing app that is constantly being updated and changed for the better. Very happy with my purchase over a year ago.
kateymrn,
Love app but stuff disappears
I have used and Loved this up for more than a year for online teaching. I recently went to the weather props and found I only had three or four when I used to have 8 to 10. This is the kind of thing that happens a lot in this app I love it I use it and I create a lot of games, but I really wish it were more stable I pay another $10 to have more stability exclamation exclamation thank you for listening
