IMPORTANT iOS 15 UPDATE!

Devices running iOS 15 above would see a weird off-white-ish coloured box on the top left corner of the widget, and that’s just horrible. I’ve seen it too, and it perplexed my as to why it occurs. I hated it as well, and understood that it would ruin the Sunlight experience…

After lengthy sessions of debugging, somehow it’s due to the moon. When the moon is outside of the viewable area during specific periods of time, it is technically still rendered, just off the widget. In iOS 15, the moon comes at us as a weird box on the top, when that happens.

Very sorry that I only found the fix now. Felt rather bad for that, actually. I hope this update makes up for it… I’ve checked if the moon should be rendered at all, based on viewable widget boundaries, fixing the issue.

Also, would like to update a little on the future of Sunlight. A few months back, I’ve started rewriting parts of the code that shows the in-depth information - like when you click a location in app. That should improve scrolling performance, as version 1’s code isn’t the most refined. Some features like filtering only certain periods of time, like only sunrise/set on the widget, is also planned. That update might take a while though, as I juggle between life and Sunlight’s development.

As always, hope you enjoyed using Sunlight, and please do have an awesome day ahead!

In this update, a new Hi Res mode was added to the settings.

So… What does the mode do?
The mode will allow you to see timings of the various events (like sunrise), up to seconds precision.
Moreover, the azimuth and angle altitude values are updated per second.

This is a user contributed feature! Keep these ideas coming! Feel free to drop me a tweet or email from the contactable options listed in the settings of the app if you have any ideas for the app, and it could well be included in the next update!

As always, I hope you enjoy using Sunlight. Thank you for your support, and have a great sunny day ahead!

This update serves to fix an issue introduced by version 1.3.3, which prevents the Informational Cell widget from retrieving current location data properly, when the "Current Location" option is chosen.

With that, I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the inconveniences that it might have cost, and thank you all for your support.

Dear Friends,

How have you been? It's almost Christmas time again!

I don't know what would be the perfect gift for you, but I thought, an app update would make your day.
I made a new widget for you, squashed a couple of bugs, ensured the moon shows when it should, made iCloud sync in real-time, and made sure things work well in places experiencing Polar Nights right now.

Hope you like the gift!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everybody!

Sincerely,
Vincent (the guy that created the app)

Printer154,
Awesome Sunrise app
This might be the best Sunrise/Sunset app. Love the widget. Nice to watch the sunrise through sunset visualization. The Moon information is an added bonus. Keep up the good work!!
Chabotnick,
No actual widgets
The screenshots lead you to think there are home page widgets, but there aren’t.
