Super QuickHook is the critically acclaimed sequel to the retro sidescrolling platformer classic Hook Champ. Use your grappling hook to race through gorgeous landscapes, survive a roaring avalanche, and discover secret loot to spend on character upgrades, equipment and fancy hats.

Your grappling hook will let you cover wide expanses, while your rocket boots give you a soaring boost that can pull you out of certain death or help you reach a few mysterious locations. Handy mid-stage checkpoints help you mark your progress through the wildly challenging courses. Try out the all-new endless levels and see just how long you can stay ahead of a terrifying avalanche or the violent blast of an erupting volcano. The key to success comes from maintaining speed and momentum, which requires a careful eye and a very quick hook.

Wonderful game, but watch out for data loss

I've loved this game for years, and downloaded it again very recently. However, with OpenFeint gone, the game's become borderline unplayable! None of my game saves, so I have to constantly start over from where I was a long while back. That being said, there's a ton of very tough, very polished content, and it's well worth the money. I wholly recommend it, but do watch out for losses of save data

Update: won't save progress on my iPhone 6 running 8.3. I know Rocketcat is busy, but a patch would be appreciated.
Get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it get it...... I've only played the first 6 levels and yet I still stand by this review.
Please, rocketcat, make a cyberpunk rpg platformer with the same sort of conspiracy themes as deus ex. This game has me convinced thar you could do it. Please include hats, somehow.
Update:
This is still my favorite game on ios. It's near the top of my all time favorites list. I am surprised more people haven't discovered it. I hope the devs are making something off of it, because they deserve it.

Hook! Hook! Rocket jump! Pant slide!

One of my favorite games is back! Very intuitive controls. Tap the right side of the screen to time your grapple hook grabs to move forward. Tap the boots on the bottom of the screen to save yourself from a never ending fall. This game is perfectly built for a touch screen. I love collecting all of the extra hooks and hats in their beautiful Super Nintendo style, 16bit glory. A little dash of humor and a nice variety to levels along with a never ending ‘Avalanche’ mode offer a ton of replay value.
Thanks Game Club for bringing one of the all time greats back!

Still the best iOS Game

Writing this review because I just downloaded Mage Gauntlet.
Hoping it will unseat SuperQuickHook as my favorite iOS game - going back to 2008.

I've beaten this game at least 4 times, and I will probably play through it again. Every couple months I'll fire it up again.
Executed very well, the Hook and swing mechanism is ridiculously fun especially on a touch screen. It has that "just-works" quality to it.
It has the spirit of a Genesis game, but unlike many designers who attempt that type of look, the control implementation feels so natural. Levels are challenging and exquisitely crafted.

I don't write reviews. But I've loved everything Rocketcat has put out so far - felt like I owed it to them. This is a must-own. 500 stars.

Basically the best game for iOS

Just a really fun game. Lots of variety in the levels and environments (which look awesome). Very challenging as well, but not in a frustrating way. Also, HATSSS!!! Just buy the game. Seriously. A kitten is adopted by a loving family every time somebody buys this game. If anything, do it for the kittens. They're counting on you. Don't let them down.

Doncha Gnomey?

I loved Hook Champ; I completed all the levels, got all but the very last forbidden hat, and even bought the two extra characters. Eventually, I got bored. I have now moved onto Super QuickHook, and I think I will be playing it for quite a while! The hats, hooks, characters, and dialogue are as great as (if not better than) Hook Champ, and Avalanche/ Eruption mode offers endless challenge!

One of my old favorites!

I am so happy to see this game up and running again! I didn’t think I’d be able to play it again and I was bummed that it hadn’t been updated in years. It’s so charming and fun to play. There are a few bugs that need fixing but other than that it’s working great.

Champion Class

Epic follow-up to the immortal Hook Champ. Includes everything that made HC so great (slick controls, smooth gameplay, replayability galore, absurdist humor, hats) while improving on the graphics, sound, sense of speed, and variety of levels. Also, there are explorin' secrets to find. And gnomes.

The Avalanche! and Eruption! modes, which are potentially endless and randomly generated, would be enough to justify getting this game. The fact that there are a bunch of HC-style levels to explore makes the awesomeness factor of Super QuickHook go to 11.

Update:

The new Eruption! mode + new characters + new hats and hooks = the best game gets even better.

Really Good, Really Hard

I'll start off by saying that this game is GREAT. However, it is one of if not THE most unforgiving games on both iOS and traditional platforms. That being said, it's a great buy and I highly reccomend it!

Too bad. It could have been amazing

But this game is obviously abandonware because it absolutely will not save any progress and judging from the reviews it's been a problem for a long time. I was hoping that the reviews were overstating it but you simply cannot play this game without sheer frustration in the amount of data that gets lost every time you exit the game. I'll be getting my money back despite loving this game when it works.
