Skoovagear,
Probably best game ever on iOS
I loved this game. From the strange cigar smoking man, crazy geometric magic, the awesome soundtrack and the aesthetics and the mood. This game remains years after playing it, one of my all-time favorites.
Wish there’d come a sequel or something of a similar vein from the same guys behind this title
Great work!!
Dr.Wiggless,
Overrated
I enjoyed the humor and the music was great, but that was it. I’ve stuck it out for a lot of slow paced games, including a few point and click games, but this was just so boring.

I played past session two against the Trigon. The thought of facing two more of them would have driven me insane. A full minute just to power up. Combat was different, but ultimately just timing. Puzzles were mostly guess and check until you can figure out what can and cannot be manipulated
dourfang,
fantastic!!!!
Please apply some Korean patches.
Aipeek,
I **REALLY** want to play this again but…
It doesn’t work right on my phone past the opening title screen 😿 iPhone 14 pro plus. Please, please 🙏🏻 give an update? ♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎♥︎

Stunningly Simple, Simply Stunning
Wow. I rarely write reviews and even then only for the apps that are truly a cut above the rest, and needless to say, S&S is one of those apps. I am really impressed by this game and the amount of work put into it. I'm typically not a fan of pixel graphics and was skeptical at first, but after playing through the game, I can't imagine using any other type of graphic style. The music is equally good, and I'm seriously considering buying the album. The storyline was not ultra-elaborate, yet it was interesting enough for me to pay attention to it. Even the gameplay and controls are elegantly minimalistic. Each of these components on their own lead to a decent game, but when blended together in such a way create a rapturously immersive and, in a sense, primative, environment that far surpasses any game I have ever seen on a mobile device, and even many console games. No joke, its that good. This is not a cheap action game or another sit-down-and-play-for-two-minutes casual game that regrettably clutter the App Store, so if you're looking for that kind of thing, it's not here. Still, I would rather have a game like this than ten typical casual games by a long shot. S&S blurs the line between art and videogames, and what results is a beautiful, fun game that endears the player like few games can. My only comment is that it could have been longer, but there's always opportunity for a sequel.

Developers, awesome game, keep up the good work
Sinister Steve,
Officially one of my favorite games of all time!
I can understand the reluctancy to buy this game right away. It's very different. It isn't a fast paced action game. It isn't a casual play-on-the-go game. It's an experience that everyone should at least give a try. When I first played this game, I wasn't very into it. It took a little time for me to really understand how the game played. It's a very odd 2D point and click adventure game. However, after the first session, I was hooked. This game has a style unlike any other.

First off, the graphics are amazing. I've never seen pixel graphics this beautiful before. The world just seems to come to life through them. It's simply amazing. The music is on the same level as the graphics. Every song and sound just goes perfectly with the game. I was very drawn in by it. Going along with the style of the game, the dialogue is extremely unique. The game never takes itself very serious, and breaks the fourth wall quite often. However it does it with style. The game makes YOU feel like YOU'RE affecting this world. I rarely feel this emersed in a videogame.

The ending of the game left me very happy with my experience. So happy in fact that it has become one of my favorite games of all time. Buy this game. By the time you finish it, you will be happy you did.
Rap Hat,
A True Adventure.
One of the best games for the iPhone, easily surpassing most competition. it's a throwback to the days of classic adventuring, where the world is alive and breathing and (not so) welcoming of your presence. Every facet of this game shines: The sound is top notch, with wide stereo seperation when necessary and beautiful music. The graphics are outstanding; while the screenshots make it look 8-bit, there's a fluidity in the motion of the characters and world that makes it look surprisingly natural. Even the controls fit it perfectly; your initial setup is like a point-and-click adventure, but more complex controls eventually become apparent.

There are almost no faults I can find with Sword & Sworcery. Occasionally doing a tap and hold will not register, and sometimes selecting the "next" arrow in conversations can take two tries, but those are extremely minor compared to the rest of the package.

With all this in mind, the game is still a true adventure. People looking for a fast-paced action game should look elsewhere. But if you appreciate the worlds adventure games create, and have a decent set of headphones and a quiet environment, there's nothing better than Sword & Sworcery EP.
CR Garrett,
Truly lived up to the hype.
I honestly didn't fully know what I was buying into on purchase beyond a 8bit centric art direction and a great soundtrack. This is usually enough to take a chance for me but wow, what a engrossing gem of a game. The art style is pleasing, but the stark contrast of it's roughness with the sound that is so crisp and realistic makes it somehow more immersive, somehow??? The self aware dialogue might be dated down the line with some phrases and references but anyone weened on the current Internet age will find some fun, as well as the people used to gaming conventions. The controls can seem clunky at first, and well, of I had one minor complaint it would be that to an extent they stay a bit cumbersome (at least on the tiny screen of a iTouch) even after playing for a bit. But hardly a deal breaker for a game like this. I rarely write any reviews for games, and to give a 5 star to a game is a rarity. There are not that many games on this or any other platform that drug me in as quickly as this one. Brilliant and if you port it to any other touchscreen enabled devices I will repurchase it and can't think of a higher compliment than that.
McTron,
Jaw droppingly beautiful
I am the in all accounts a big hipster hater. I love this game to death, stunning visuals, awesome tunes. Just because somebody likes retro style video games doesn't make them a hipster. See hipsters like things in an ironic since while retro enthusiasts genuinely l appreciate the gameplay and art behind old school games. I am 16 and love nes and zx spectrum and commodore games in a non ironic sense. I appreciate the work and craftsmanship that went into those old games. Hipsters would act more like, hey this is out of date and I like it, how ironic. That is idiotic to like something just on the bases of irony. Hipsters are the stupids people on earth. I genuinely love retro games and this is a fine. So all you reviewers saying it must be hipsters who love this games sorry try again. This game is embraced by us the proud and the geeky. So unless you consider us comic shop going, anime watching, smart nerds hipsters. You will understand that we genuinely appreciate this game. So buy it, it's stunning. It has a game depth that I hope to achieve some day when I become an iOS game developer. Props to every body involved with this
Masterpiece.
Oxidiz3r,
Enchanting
I've never felt particularly inclined to write a review for any iPod app, but this one really inspired an amazement that no other game I've played has. You start off not knowing what you are doing, but do you not feel inclined to move forward anyways? It feels like you're exploring a dream with friendly strangers. A sort of mystical and serene atmosphere about it, I find that it is quite relaxing to enjoy the pixelated scenery which feels real and inviting though distantly unfamiliar. Let me give one piece of advice, though: do not play this game without good headphones. You will not get the same sense of immersion.

This game is not for the simple-minded who would rather engage in complex battles and a deep lengthy storyline. This is for the person who values dreaming, being taken into another world to experience its vivid sites and sounds. It's what I would refer to as a milieu game. A game that is more enjoyed through the world it takes place in rather than its characters or story. Personally, I enjoy exploring new planes more than both story and character, so for me it is ideal.
