Survivors will find real world location challenges like the Newark Cinema in Delaware, Restaurants in Portland, Oregon, and even the Buddy Holly museum in Lubbock Texas to name just a few, as well as hundreds of other challenges that can be found in any town in the country. Everyday coffee shops, fast food restaurants, hardware stores and malls are all transformed to become the backdrops for survivor strongholds, hidden troves of weapons and supplies, and dangerous traps set by rival survivors. No matter where you go when you are playing Survivor Z, you are in the realm of the undead, and no place is safe.
Once the player has fought through the fictional game content, the real work begins. The player can search real world locations to find new challenges, unlock new stories, and try and build strongholds to protect against attacks from the undead and rival survivors. Players fight to take and hold onto territory and resources as they struggle to survive. The more your influence grows, the more powerful you will become. Scavenge for supplies, craft fortifications and traps to protect your interests. It you against the world.

Great game, but could use some work
This game is a lot of fun and very addicting, however there are a few improvements that could be made. First, every time I try to access my clan chat, it doesn't work. Second, when traveling with several survivors and you come across zombies, the survivors with guns should prioritize their attacks and attack the larger groups of zombies first instead of taking out a single zombie when there is a horde of 8 behind that one. Third, in the safe house or strongholds items should automatically be sorted based on function. I have over 5000 items in my safe house and there is no assortment to them at all. Finally, when moving things from your inventory Into the safe house or stronghold you should be able to store all of a single item at once instead of dragging each individual one over, as this can become very time consuming. Like I said this game is incredibly fun, but there are a few upgrades that could be made in order to make it a 5/5.

Beautiful app but staff are horrible
I have been with this app for over ten years and long story short it is the best game on the AppStore I have ever come across in fact the best game ever for mobile I have ever seen but the staff damage the experience so much, I have tried for over 2 months to get dlc I bought added to my account by contacting them through email, Facebook, Twitter, and more and have been ignored, ED was on the team awhile back but I am not sure why but the staff and the support went down hill and it is sad to see such a beautiful app and game get ruined cause the creators and owners are so negligent. I hope this changes but as of now I cannot suggest the game fully as with how bad mongadillo is acting towards its supporters, especially ones like me who have been around for 10+ years, is disappointing and sad to say but it is just not right.

High Potential
I believe that since the latest update that makes multiplayer somewhat playable, there are so many new doors that can be opened to new opportunities to the game. Although it is still a bit glitchy and some of the features and items are kind of useless right now, I believe that if the developers stay active and actually listen to the community to make this game with the players than this will truly be something remarkable. I myself have many ideas specifically on the multiplayer part that I would like to see implemented into the game and updated to make it so much more enjoyable! My high hopes make me rate this a 5, but the fact that this was the LAST major update and the fact that to fully play ever aspect of the game you need to spend too much real money is already preparing me for disappointment and makes me keep the rating at a 4...

Had to ruin a great game by making it "interactive" I don't see why I would need to go to different places I would need a car to get to when it doesn't explain how my survivor managed to find a way to wherever and on top of that once you clear all nearby locations you can't progress anymore unless you can find the time to play this game when you're out doing better things to begin with so why did the creators think this would be a cool little twist because it's not. There's no reason you had to do this, okay concept but why not have all locations available you just need to have car or other means of transportation to get there. Then you have the offline version which obviously hasn't been worked on since this crap came out because there's still only storyline regardless of what difficulty and setup you choose so I can't play that as an alternative so I'm hoping you guys will take notice and change this because this version already has a lower rating and less downloads so you have to be doing something wrong and I know I'm not the only one who finds this to be a problem

Amazing Game!!
I've been playing this game for a while and I can't stop playing. It really immerses you in the game and every encounter is unique. You are able to build strongholds, recruit survivors, and fight the undead as well as the living. I love this game but I think some things should be added. First of all relationships should develop between players and survivors. For example, the more a player and a survivor fight together the more they trust each other. But if a player let go a survivor they may become spiteful or angry. There should also be more of a storyline. Otherwise it's a great game and I highly recommend it.

Great design, poor execution...
The story mode, combat, and crafting systems, and permadeath are all very well designed in this game. However, the over all concept is executed terribly. The story mode has severely limited content which is rarely updated, despite being a cloud based system. Instead of funding new content via ad revenue the developer decided to advertise their other product and abandon this. The combat system lacks basic AI when using companions, which is forgivable. The crafting system is a massive failure despite its potential. There is no reasonable way to organize crafting items in inventory and the pool of actual crafting recipes is minimal. The result is a game where most items are useless, despite their potential real world uses. The items which are usable combine in illogical ways to form new items, but intuitive crafts, like attaching camp fuel to a camp stove, remain impossible.

Want to see this game to continue
I’ve been off and on with this game for years now, and it always sparks my interest and brings me back. I would love to see the revitalization of the game and continued updates. It seems like this game has long lost popularity and activity which is unfortunate due to the sheer amount of potential with this game. I try to make a purchase on the app every once in a while in hopes to support the creator and incite further development into the game even if I know it’s not enough. Can’t wait to see if this game will continue to be worked on and I’m hopeful that it does.

Needs update
This choice making game is really addicting. It has the right idea and the potential to be a very big game. The problem I see with it is that the game is so outdated. No one plays the game no more. See there hasn’t been an update for quite awhile and the storyline ends too fast. Other than buying extra DLC’s there’s no point in playing. And even if you did pay for the extra maps, there’s no one to play it with. Besides that there are many bugs and misspelled words making it almost impossible to read. There are many more things that need to be fixed. Just to name a few; PVP battles, better fighting gameplay, more info. on crafting, etc. And if there is a game similar and possibly better than this one let me know, I really like how this game is setup.

Absolutely love the game. The idea and use of real world locations to form the game is great. You can build an army, equip them however you like, and mow down some zeds! The reason I’m only giving 3 stars is because of the developers. There hasn’t been an update in over two years. No new npcs, or challenges have been introduced since then either. Every person I’ve met that has played this game absolutely loves it! But with the lack of content and nothing being improved or fixed it’s only adding to the frustration of players. The designers have clearly given up on this project. Wish it wouldn’t have died, but that won’t stop me from playing!

Everyone should play
I used to play a lot and then took a break. I was having some problems recovering my account. The developers website has their support contact info so I wrote them. The support is great, friendly, and fast.
The game play is also amazing and novel. The real world map leads to my wife and I playing it on breaks in road trips and also searching for supplies in our neighborhood. It’s immersive in a unique way. The text base fits perfect because you can apply a story from familiar places you already have pictured in your memory.
