Description

Lady Tallowmere's kittens have been acting strange. Still, the dungeon's rituals must be carried out. Despite the unusual circumstances, how many rooms can you clear?

NEW GAME MODES

A new Game Mode portal has been added to the home room.

Access the portal to play new game modes. New achievements have been added for each special game mode.

KITTEN COLLECT-A-THON
• 99 kittens have been scattered across the dungeon. Can you collect them all?
• This game mode has a limit of 20 rooms.

ENEMY CHALLENGES
• Select an enemy — the dungeon will be filled with only that type of enemy.

WEAPON CHALLENGES
• Select a weapon — you will only be able to use that weapon type throughout the dungeon.

STANDARD DUNGEON
• To play the classic endless standard dungeon, please ignore the portal and insert the key into the home room door as normal.

– Other changes –

ACHIEVEMENTS:
• New achievements have been added for the new game modes.
• Achievement descriptions now specify the required game mode and difficulty.

DIFFICULTY:
• A new Difficulty Panel has been added to the home room.
• Feral is the regular default permadeath difficulty (orange).
• Cuddly is a new "easy" difficulty (green), giving players extra health and the ability to respawn.
• Neither achievements nor leaderboards will be available if Cuddly is active.
• Cuddly imposes a limit of 60 rooms.

KITTENS:
• Increased health by 400% to help prevent accidental deaths.

UI:
• Added pagination buttons for filter drop-down menus.

FIXES:
• Fixed an issue where button glyphs could sometimes be null in the menus.
• Fixed an issue where servers could become unstable if a client connected then disconnected quickly.

Saved Games:

• Tallowmere 2 uses a plugin called CloudOnce that utilises iCloud's key-value storage system, with the intent of allowing file syncing between iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices.

• Post-launch, it was discovered that iCloud's key-value system has a 1 MB storage limit per app.

• This is fine for one or two typical saved game files, but the 1 MB limit causes storage errors once file sizes exceed this limit, which does happen.

• There currently aren't any suitable plugins for the Unity game engine that allow access to iCloud's CloudKit or Documents systems, which do not have such storage limits.

• As such, for the interim, iCloud key-value support will be phased out for saved games. Existing saved games in the key-value system will be downloaded and stored locally if possible. Going forward, new saved games will be stored locally until further notice.

• Refactored some of the UI pooling systems to improve performance on low-end devices. Some single-frame quirks may be present.
• Fixed an issue when viewing Achievements where the right panel would not scroll enough.
• Fixed an issue in the Advanced Options category where the cursor would reset to the first item after toggling an option.
• Fixed an issue where menu tabs could become clipped. Tabs now resize to fit.

Miscellaneous:
• Added a frame rate option for 120 FPS.
• Added an advanced option: "Delete Cloud Data". This will remove and reset all cloud data that is stored for the game.

Very fun multiplayer
For context, I had not played either of these games until yesterday when I bought Tallowmere and Tallowmere 2 on a whim looking for yet another roguelike/lite to pass the time. I immediately fell in love with and lost 3 hours to playing the first entry! I’ll admit I was skeptical a “free to play” successor could improve on such a fun, unique approach to the genre. Thank goodness Tallowmere 2 takes everything I loved in the first game and pushes it to a level of polish that frankly should embarrass many larger studios.

I played this game for an hour today with my son, him on an iPad mini and me on my iPhone and it worked perfectly. Even when I dropped out to answer a txt or call the game kept running without a hitch, made him the host, and allows me to rejoin! Very few games on iOS get this right so I was impressed by that alone but my gosh I’m just amazed at how bad I slept on these two beautiful, lovingly crafted games. Don’t be me, play it now!

Once you get used to it. Block, often. And don't get your block confused with your attack in the heat of a battle like I just did, ending an hour long run that I was really enjoying.

I hope the update comes out that allows you to restore a saved game after tragedy strikes. At the moment it's quite unforgiving.

Still no progression
The gameplay is flawless, I’ll give it that. And I see the game is in early access on steam with lots of improvements coming, but there is still no progression system. Of any kind. No progression for me, means no reason to play. No unlockable characters, no skins, no starting with upgraded weapons, nothing. I give it an extra star because again, gameplay is flawless, I just see no reason to play it. I’ll return once game gets full release, “story mode” and “no perma death mode” are planned, but time will tell if they offer the key word the majority of people need in games these days. Progression.

When is the additional content coming. Not sure why I paid $4.99 for no progression system. One star until this content comes out. I beat the first game. No way to beat this game as it is.

I loved the first version. And I kinda love the second version too, however, I found some stuff that I didn’t like that Chris might want to address in the next updates: 1) The most important flaw: No bosses. There is a lot of room variations but some interesting boss fights could be nice, like Jazza or Mr Bigguns was. It’s just way cooler than just getting a random cat buff every 5 rooms :/ I miss bringing Mr Bigguns some laxatives. 2) Attack button is too tolerant, I died because I wanted to switch weapon but I threw a granade instead (maybe the switch weapon button is too small). I play at maximum resolution with 150% HUD scale 3) There are some “comming soon” unfinished parts, such as the reaper or weapon smith. 4) No merchants along the way. 5) Curse pillars are just not worth it compared to collecting loot (+1 damage but enemies spawn in pairs is the prime example, who would do that especially in latter levels?) 6) It’s just more braindead hack&slash than the first version. Especially the Emerald Dagger is very missing. I got to room 35 on my 2nd try (after I died due to the button tolerancy) just by spamming lifesteal scythe. I believe the Stun Resistance shield makes it too braindead and should be adjusted. 7) Weapons are somewhat less creative. RPG-7 and Flamethower were funny. Now it’s just melee, bow and some magic. Bugs found: When you have more than 3 rows of weapons it starts to overflow the screen, making me unable to switch to some weapons. Please address some of these issues and I will gladly give 5 stars :) Keep up the nice work!
