Just new, not better

This version looks great and has added a few features but sadly it’s left out some key features of the old app. First, the app now doesn’t show up on my Apple Car play anymore. Because it doesn’t show up, I can’t control it from my radio and have to pick up the phone to start the app. Why, you may ask? Because, if for some reason the app stops broadcasting because I took out one of my AirPods, the app won’t automatically resume play like the old one did when I put reinsert the AirPod. It does the same thing when a call or text message comes in. I have to pick up the phone and manually press stop, then press play. It has actually removed the safety features that keeps your eyes in the road.
It still has the great content, but it’s not as user friendly as before.

Blah. Just blah.

Since my local channel took it off it’s station in 2017 this app is my only choice. My drive to work doesn’t have the best cell service. But…. The app doesn’t play unless you’re in LTE or higher except ads (shows sponsors). Every morning I have to start it twice because ya start it once it plays it’s ad (shows sponsor) then pauses after. Unless you hit play again it will not start playing the show. When you do have LTE or even WiFi it plays 3/4 of the time. I mean the show itself has gone down hill since Bob left but drastically fallen on its face since Covid. With that all said it’s still a good show though. I love listening to it. Just wish I didn’t have to use this crappy app in order to do that.

Also. You can’t blame the lower cell service cause the ESPN app plays my whole time this app won’t.

From bad to worse, sadly

This app is SO frustrating. I love the B&T show and was happy when I found out I could get it 24/7. But this app is terrible! It cuts out constantly and I am always restarting it. The ads cut in all the time - right in the middle of them doing a bit or just talking and then when it comes back you missed what was going on during the ad. This was bad when I first downloaded it a few years ago but in the past few months it has gotten so much worse. I wish they would do whatever they need to do to improve the quality. It is so disappointing.

Sketchy

I can’t tell if this posted the first time I wrote it the first time. However, it’s been a year or two and nothing has changed. If no one cares enough you fix it, I’m don’t care enough to check if it’s a repost.

This app is disappointing at best.

I enjoy the show. However, the app needs work. A) Not able to get video with with sound without first clicking on an audio clip first. Then, once I’ve done that, the audio clip is always lurking around and will start playing over the top of the video for random reasons. B) I should be able to start the VIP video at any time and it just plays. However, if I open another app, the video stops or starts over at the beginning. Or... the audio starts up again (see “A”). If I don’t touch my phone again, it’s mostly fine, BUT THAT’S NOT HOW PHONES WORK! I give up. It should be better.

Not Worth It

It’s just not worth the hassle. I downloaded the app because I didn’t have a radio at work. The ads add an extra hour to every show. When you attempt to listen to the show you hear one ad, then it shuts off. Typically on the second or third attempt to listen you hear 1 or 2 more ads, then you finally hear the show. The show seems to pause or stop almost every half hour. When attempting to reestablish the audio, ads constantly flash in front of the play button and it is impossible to access the audio again. I have updated the app every time, but I have not noticed any improvements in the app’s performance. I recommend just purchasing a radio. I’m a loyal fan, but this app does not work and likely will not ever.

CarPlay disaster

I am sure like many others that love listening to Bob and Tom and have done so for a long time we are frustrated with this app. I too cannot control the app through CarPlay. I am forced to pick up my phone while driving to start playback or continue playback when service stops due to a phone call, a text or loss of signal due to any number of issues. I listen nearly 100% of my driving time to B&T over CarPlay but with this new app for the first time I am getting angry and choosing other options such as my cars radio or even just Apple Music. I am certain that a fix will eventually come but I will take a break from this app and check back later. Hope this is fixed sooner versus later.

Cuts out

I’ve been a daily listener of bob and Tom for a few months now but this app makes it impossible. It takes a few minutes to load to play and then it cuts out every few minutes. Sometimes it starts again after a minute or two and sometimes it doesn’t. But I’m not allowed to actually be on my phone at work (only allowed to use it for music), so this poses a problem. Also my boyfriend and I like to listen to it at the same time and laugh together but his doesn’t cut out. When mine does I get behind and can’t laugh with him or I miss all the good parts

Still crashing

I must say i’m a loyal fan and love the show, but this app crashes every single time i open it. After that, when I restart, its fine. Tom is such a perfectionist; I’m surprised this is not fixed after months of similar complaints. Also, it’s impossible to search for specific bits from past albums. The desktop version is also very difficult, but one of the reasons i’m a VIP member is for the old bits. Make it easier to search discography

Update: crash fixed; of course, now it completely locks up after the ad runs, necessitating a restart anyway

Let’s get new material

I love the show and I’ve been a big fan for 20+ years. I’m grateful that I found this app because it gives me a way to listen to the show being as my current local radio stations do not air it. That being said the app needs to get new material. It constantly replays the same sketches over and over and over again to the point of where it’s not funny anymore. They need to update the material during commercials and after the morning show.

App is great....if it works

Every few months an update breaks this app in a. New way. Almost always related to the ads. I u defat and money must be made but sometimes the initial ad plays and then dead air. When I try to get to the 24/7 play button it replays the ad again and sometimes twice more for the hell of it. This is not the first update to cause this exact issue. I have also seen an issue when I’m in WiFi Vs mobile data. If I turn off WiFi(90%signal strength and 150mb down), the app will be useful. Turn WiFi back on and it decides to replay ads and play nothing after. Come on guys fix this thing!
