Description
The Owl & the Pussy-Cat sculpture trail runs from 20 June to 4 September 2022 – a key feature of Knowsley’s year as the Liverpool City Region Borough of Culture.
Thirty-two huge and elaborately decorated creatures will be located across Knowsley in parks, public spaces, town centres and other locations.
Designed and decorated by artists with support from members of the local community, these beautiful sculptures will be spread across the whole of the Borough.
In addition to the 32 large sculptures on display, local schools have also created designs for over 50 further smaller creatures who will also be posing in public buildings in the townships.
The trail commemorates the fact that Edward Lear actually wrote his world-famous poem – The Owl & the Pussy-Cat – during his time living at Knowsley Hall.
