HotTopicz,
Good Game, But Very Short
Let me get this out of the way: this game is phenomenal. It has a great art style, and great music. But it has a few flaws. First, it doesn't really feel like the choices you make impact the story. I played through this twice, and I got the same ending both times, which leads me to believe that the choices you make in this game don't matter. Second, it's an interactive story, not a game. This "game" tells the story of the rise of the Loyalist Party, and has little to do with the newspapers. You choose what to leave in and what to take out, but the story moves on in the same direction, unless you screw things up along the way. Thirdly, this game is too short. I played this twice, and got about an hour playing time out of it in total. That is a little short for a $5 game. Maybe they will add more stuff, to make this game with buying. I know it is developed by very few people, and that has limits, but a couple more things would have been nice. An endless mode, a longer story, just so it feels like I didn't waste $5 on a short game.

My advice: wait until this game has a few more features, or is possibly a little cheaper, then experience it for yourselves.
SamsunRo,
Unclear Objectives and Play
I love indie games so I don't regret buying, and the game is fun. However, I have realized after playing through many times that I'm not actually doing anything. At least, it feels like I'm not. There are no visible consequences for my actions other than the government arresting a reporter of mine here and there to teach me a lesson.

I have tried many different play styles, from towing the government line fully (editing out all mentions of rebels, saving government face, and hiding public immorality) to being the shining beacon of rebellion, but I still can't figure out how to "win." I assumed the point was to get all districts ritcheously angry, but alas. It seems impossible no matter what ai publish or redact or how I market my paper.

I do recommend this game though because it's good for killing time, it's relaxed, and I like dystopian narratives.
Mrhoshimoto,
Who fact checks the fact checkers?
That's it. This should be required for everyone before you vote, for anything. No seriously, it makes you think and proves a point: Everything is not black and white...which news source do you believe or not? Why? The game shows how (most) people can be swayed to believe anything just in using the media. We all think... ohhhh this has been "fact-checked" it must be true! But... who fact- checks the fact-checkers? If you must read 1984 in H.S.... you should also play this game. Actually... what if to get any "news" irl you had to actually play this so you would understand everything is biased? It would be interesting to play many scenarios out w different real-life situations.. like Covid-19. Who and what do we believe and why? This game shows you how demographics such as class, education, maybe even gender and race affects how people see things in the world happening to them and... the world. Play it. That's it:) Excellent game.

Good But Needs Improvement
This game looked interesting, but I only got it once it became free. The game is interesting and well-written, and it does a good job of exploring the kinds of political and moral choices people make under oppressive governments. It’s also very nice aesthetically, with good music and fitting graphics.
However, the game has never been updated, despite some issues. First off, when I finished the game and started another save slot, my stats from the last game carried over. While that does give some advantages, it doesn’t make sense and seems unintentional. Also, when I finished my second game, it didn’t show me the results of my actions like at the end of the first game. I would like to see the effects my changed strategy had. Also, it’s a pretty short game, they should add some more content or game modes.
Yz85andltr450,
Awesome game! Needs improvement
First off, this game is very fun and tells a fairly decent story. This game should not be $5 if it would cost anything, but it was worth the $5 I spent. This game tells a story between the rebels/rebellion and the government in a fairly violent and bloody war. You play as the newspaper who holds the reins over the publics opinions over the two sides. You get publish a weekly newspaper that tells about events that help or hurt the sides and your choices affect how the two sides will fare. The story is neat and deep and I would recommend getting this game. However, I wish this game had more modes and content than just the 45-60 minute mode that is basically the same each time. I would also recommend you wait for more content to come out.
xena.07,
a gem tbh
i was kind of surprised by how good this game was, since it is free on the App Store. its kind of like “papers, please” but instead of being in charge of immigration you’re in charge of the news media. for a free game, it is very good. however, the game crashes quite a lot. when i first downloaded the game, i had to open it three times (since it would crash after each time) before the game finally loaded. never got to see the full ending day since it would crash halfway at the end, and i’d have to reload the game, which restarts the day, and the game would crash again, and the cycle repeats. this only happens for the last day though. otherwise, this is a very good game and if the crashing problem gets fixed i imagine it would get much more attention
Buddy87532,
Exhilarating gameplay, short and glitch doesn’t let you play again
There are so many facets to this game and it is incredibly exciting. However, the end comes sooner than you expect and doesn’t offer the closure and reward you hope for, it basically just has the credits roll. When I try to play the game again, there is a glitch where the results of the previous iteration of the game were affecting me on Day 1. The reporter that got arrested was still gone, and I was receiving notes from the govt. based on what I had published on Day 12 of the last game. Please fix that! Really great still and worth my money and time.

Great Game and a Great Theme Song
I love this game. I think it is well thought out and well executed. I personally find no similarity between this and Papers Please, other than they are both thought provoking. I love the theme song and I beg of you to put it on iTunes. I would buy it right away!
Although it is a very fun game, I find myself tapping the icon multiple times to try to get in. Also, it sometimes crashes, forcing me to restart the week.
Also, please do not extend the game, I am very Rebellious, and I would not survive for more than twelve weeks.
I would also like some more articles, so each slot and week has more of a diversity.
Anyway, this game is one of my favorites and I NEED the theme song on iTunes!
Shyomegawolf,
This would be great for history and politics teachers
It gives off such a 1984 type game that it even works the same in editing of the news paper articles that you feel like Winston from Oceania. If your a liberal or conservative it helpful and relative to today’s political climate of 2019. While you play it you think with that mindset of censorship and what’s best for the loyalist party. Also directly inspired off of Papers Please with art style and feel but different story and world. I heavily suggest you make it longer and more potential for the player. But other wise I really love this game.
Bëjorn G,
Keeps Crashing
Iv heard so much about this game and Iv tried playing it multiple times but crashes on startup all the time and then I get tired and wait a few weeks try again and crashes. I have the iPhone 2022 SE. iOS just updated so who knows.

This game doesn’t have a high rating but it’s a must try! I think this game deserves a higher rating! Iv Seen people play it online and so I’m going on that since it KEEPS CRASHING! Lol

My sister and brother both tried the game and it’s crashing for them too.
