Description

Therapeer: A private emotional support group focused on helping YOU.
Support others emotionally and improve your own emotional well-being.

Get private peer support coping with marriage problems, divorce, depression, anxiety, and other matters related to your emotional well-being.

WHAT'S THERAPEER?
• As a PEER you can help other community members seeking emotional support via private group chat.
• As a HOST you can open your own private Support Room, where 3 experienced Peers will join and focus solely on supporting you in your time of need.
• Earn kudos when providing support as a Peer, to use towards your very own private Support Room, FREE OF CHARGE.
• Therapeer is completely ANONYMOUS. You are never asked for your real name and we’ll never disclose your personal information.
• A variety of topics to choose from, including Marriage Problems, Divorce, Depression, Anxiety, and many more.

WHY USE THERAPEER?
You're not alone: Everyone faces emotional issues from time to time. Research shows that sharing your experiences with others can be highly therapeutic for both you and the listener. Using Therapeer and participating in private support sessions provides an opportunity for people to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, and to gain a sense of community and empowerment.
Yes, you can go to therapy - but time and place are rigid and it can be so expensive. We get it.
Yes, you can share your issues with your friends, but they don’t always have the time, energy, or ability to answer your emotional needs. We get that, too.
Yes, social network groups and in-person support groups can help, but there's no anonymity. There are certain issues you don’t want the whole world to know about. We TOTALLY get that.
But most of all: Other support group formats aren't focused on solving just one issue - everyone shares the stage. And there's no guarantee that anyone will even respond. Sometimes, you just want the focus to be on YOU.

We get all of that. We get YOU.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
• Provide other community members with emotional support as a Peer. By doing so, it will help you deal with your own challenges in a broader perspective and will make you feel better by knowing you helped others in need.
• Already gained the gratification of helping others? Go ahead and create your very own support room (or, if you don't want to wait, we offer the option to purchase a credit to open your room immediately).
• After your private anonymous Support Room is opened, we match you with other Therapeer community members who have struggled with something similar to what you're experiencing. Peer assignment is based on your personal preferences and on the topic being discussed.

Join Therapeer today! Transform your struggles into strength, support people in need, and improve your own emotional well-being.

Amazing
It has been a really long time since I used this app and I am finally ready to share my experience with it. I used it during a really dark time in my life when I wasn’t ready (both financially and emotionally) to reach out to an actual therapist. This app is definitely not a cure all but it really helped me just to be able to openly and anonymously talk to other people who had been in my shows before and could just listen and share their experiences. It really felt like a safe space where I could pour my heart out and the people on the other side were actually listening and really cared about me. This is not a substitute for actual therapy, but it it a start for whomever is not ready to make that step yet or simply can’t afford it. Thank you to the people that made this possible and to the people willing to contribute and help those who need it.
Discernment36@,
Thanks
I didn’t find the app useful. At first I liked it but now I don’t. I will be deleting my account. I would recommend those who try it use therapist primarily. And use this app as a secondary option. I felt like some of the moss bent the rules. I never understood the rules fully and people were mean and judgmental to me some of them. Please be careful. I met some nice people. You guys need to be more on community and rules. I feel like I am breaking rules and that’s not fair. I joined a room and peer was a male. He kept asking me how he could get hooked up with a cute girl. He tried to get my contact info because he wanted to do business with me. I told him I couldn’t help him I knew nothing about business. The moderator in the room didn’t say anything. The whole thing was just weird I felt like a piece of meat. Several other people hit on me. I was just being nice and supportive. One room I joined nobody helped the host I was the only one. This triggered a major ptsd episode and brought back memories I don’t want to think about. There needs to be a moderator in every room. I almost had a bad relapse. Please be careful if you join this app. Make sure you have a therapist. I did meet some kind people.
TechGuyWY,
What an awesome concept!
I can't believe I just now found this app. The whole idea of helping myself by helping others while being able to ask help from others as well is a great idea. Sometimes it's nice to have an impartial group of peers going through similar situations to chat with. This app is just the ticket.

A while back I tried some others, even posted on subreddits that were supposed to be a similar concept, but found constant criticism regardless of if I was asking for help or trying to give it.

I'm sure I'm not perfect at this whole giving help thing, but if someone just needs an ear to listen and to help process issues, this app is awesome.
Hellavet,
Awesome Concept — hear me out
Awesome app! Love the idea, sense of community, etc.,

Wait, you rate individuals based on their impressions in the groups/chats? Based on how much they give information of themselves? I don’t feel it’s fair to rate people when they’re in their most sensitive state to share their own information or story.

Sometimes those going through the most difficult periods of their live’s can be the most encouraging, yet not ready to share, but are brave enough to make an appearance. And that gets a rating? I don’t agree with that. It takes a lot of courage just to share a fact about oneself, and to be “rated” based on that alone, not cool.

Doesn’t make for a safe place to confide. Isn’t that the basis of this app?
I apologize if I’ve misinterpreted anything, I couldn’t help but notice that those that didn’t contribute as much as others in a chat were looked down upon, so to speak. They even felt discouraged to continue speaking, and that was saddening in itself.

I don’t agree with “rating” people in this environment. I feel this app has potential in creating something different, let’s not “rate” people. Because, isn’t that what divides us? Isn’t this why we need an app like this to begin with? I’ve been searching for an app that has a community of people who are raw, who need to vent and confide, but without the ratings and need to feel “better” than others. Please be that app.
Cfrrell1,
Amazing app!
I’m a moderator for the app and I have throughly enjoyed being a part of this community! I love being able to talk to and help people! I normally act as a peer in order to listen to others and give them some advice and support, but I also host my own rooms if I’m having a difficult day. I love that you can choose your areas of “expertise” and the rooms are catered to people who have experience with the topics being discussed. In 2012 I attempted suicide, and I wish there had been an app like this back then! I honestly think this app has so much potential and could help many people! As a moderator I’m so glad that I have the honor of talking with many different people on a regular basis! :) Thanks so much!!
Ethan Rockstar Mind Destroyer,
This app is amazing! IF you use it the right way.
I came in here using this app to help me talk to other people about my struggles. But now I come in here to see where I stand and get a better view point on how I could change. I realized that my mind is against me, it doesn’t want me to grow. It wants me to be the same and do comfortable things, but for what!! It just hurts me in the end! I don’t know why my mind would do that to me!😭 I feel betrayed!!😖😡 F%k you mind!! Your no good!!! I didn’t realize that until a fellow Therapeer member helped me realize that. Use this app to help you prosper. Don’t give no excuses. At the end of the day, you can change your life and ONLY You.
ffnjtr,
First Experience was good
My first time opening a room and I didn’t know what to expect. I’m so glad it was a “room” that was not about anyones grief but my own. For once I didn’t have to be strong for someone else. I was open minded and they listened. They understand and stayed with me the entire hour. The 3 people in the room provided 3 different prospectives and it did help. I have a long way to go but when I’m overwhelmed I’ll try this again. I will say out of all the apps I’ve tried “betterhelp, mygrief, and prayer hotline” this was the quickest and most effective help.
truthgame,
Amazing app! But slow in implementing changes
This is an amazing app and has made a world of difference in my life! It is so helpful to have the amazing peer support! My heartfelt thanks to the makers of this app. One area where the app can make improvements is tech support. The moderators lounge has been non operational for over a year , which has been pretty frustrating to say the least. The admin is great at “kumbaya” and lip service, but does very little by way of concrete improvements. There are constant excuses being sprouted for the inaction. This has led most of the moderators to slack off or quit the app. This is quite unfortunate since this is such an amazing platform has so much potential! Developers please take note!

Life saving app
I was very reluctant to try anything like this but the app is designed to be very private and discreet. This app is like a warm hug when you need it. The people on here give relatable and genuine advice. I highly recommend this app to anyone who is having a bad day or simply just need to have a comforting conversation to gain support for their struggles. I honestly feel like this app can save lives. Such positive and uplifting advice I received the first time I used. After my first session my mood was much better and I had a lot more hope. Please try this app if you are struggling.
Themidnightmermaid27,
Four stars for now
It’s a great platform. I definitely feel like I was able to help others and I was also able to be helped by others.
I started by joining rooms as a supportive peer which was cool. Most people are very active.
However when I hosted my own room 2 of the 3 supporting peers were inactive for a majority of the session.
I did not like this and even more so once I realized there was no option to kick them out. They were taking spots maybe others could've utilized.
Once the app has the option to remove inactive peers after a certain amount of time and also rate peers somehow and/or leave peer reviews I can’t give 5 stars yet.
