This is a fun app that children enjoy and respond to. It's a real boon to any adult who needs to control the levels of noise of a group of children.
For the responsible adult it is like having a virtual assistant with you, constantly monitoring noise levels and letting the children know in a fun and engaging way if noise levels have reached an unacceptable level.
In tests we have found when using this app with groups of children peer pressure alone is generally sufficient to control noise levels.
Summary of Features
• Displays graphically the background noise level in a room in a fun and engaging way.
• Allows the tolerable noise level to be adjusted to cater for those "louder activities" as well compensating for banging doors and other sudden noises with the "sensitivity" and "dampening" sliders.
• When the predefined noise level is exceeded for more than 3 seconds:
1) An audible Alarm is sounded (this can be switched ON or OFF)
2) The App appears to shatter the screen of the Device (this can be switched ON or OFF)
3) A counter, displayed on the noise meter, is incremented by one. Keeping track of the number of “Too Noisy" alarms.(this can be switched ON or OFF)
• There is a built-in "Star Awards" rewards system. It can operated in two modes:
- Achievement Mode
In this mode a Star is awarded each time the Class keep their noise under control for a pre-determined period of time. This can be from 1 to 15 minutes.
Normally, if the class triggers the alarm in this mode they will lose the Star currently running, however, there is also a switch that, if set to ON, will remove an additional Star every time the Class cause the “Too Noisy” alarm to be triggered.If students get all 10 stars a "Super Star Award" is displayed. Stars can also be manually Awarded and removed by the responsible adult.
- Session Mode
In this mode the Teacher sets the length of time for a complete session. This can be any length of time. Perhaps for a full lesson (e.g. 1 hour 10 minutes) or for a time period set to complete a specific task (e.g. 20 minutes).
The app will take the session time and divide it by 10 (the maximum number of Stars that can be Won in any one session). The Stars are then awarded at that rate. For example if the Teacher sets the session time to 60 minutes then one Star Awards will be awarded every 6 minutes (60 minutes / 10 Stars = 6 minutes per Star)
• Keep things fresh with over 200 Dial / Background Theme combinations
• The "Alarm Counter" can be reset or disabled completely.
If the noise level is acceptable a happy smiling contented graphic is displayed. If the levels of noise increase beyond what the responsible adult has determined as acceptable, the graphic changes to reflect the unacceptable noise level. Once the level of noise returns to an acceptable level the graphic automatically returns to the happy contented one, however, if the volume of noise remains unacceptably high for more than 3 seconds...an audible alarm is sounded (this can be turned on and off) and the screen of the device appears to shatter! Also, the "Alarm Counter" on the meter is incremented by one (this can be zeroed at any time with a reset button).

We think this is a pretty cool update, we have added suport for the latest Apple devices and iOS version. There is now a "Calibrate" button in "Too Noisy Pro". Often, in different environments, there is a level of background noise that can be considered normal. This might be the constant drone of traffic on a freeway, or noise generated from local industry, even noise generated by different classes within the building. By tapping the "Calibrate" button these "low level background" noises are cancelled out, and not included for display on the "Too Noisy" meter. To operate the "Calibrate" button, simply ask the class to remain silent and then tap the button. The app will sample the noise levels for a 10 second period. The app is calibrated for that level of background noise and can be used as normal. The only noise that should register on the Noise Meter is the noise above the level of background noise just recorded.
We have also improved the "Settings" interface to make it easier for users, as well as adding a great new "Penguin Theme".....Enjoy!

We are really excited about this upgrade for 2017. We have added a "Session Timer" option so Teachers can now set a fixed period of time for the classroom noise to be monitored. If the class keep there noise levels under control for the complete session they can earn 10 Stars! There is a timer bar so all the class can see how long they have left.
We have also added an extra 3 Background themes and 3 new Dial themes to keep things fresh, so that is 120 Theme combinations with more to come... and all FREE to existing users

Probably one of our best updates Yet!...we are really pleased with this one!
This update gives the user control of when both, the warning backgrounds and when the Alarm backgrounds / Audible Alarm are triggered.
When this feature is combined with the existing Sensitivity and Damper settings it really does give the user complete control over the app.
We have also changed the timer on the Star Awards, so now when the user pauses the app or goes into the settings screen the countdown freezes on the "Star Award" that is currently being animated, rather than reverting back to the previous "Star Award"
Users have commented that it is not always obvious when the app has been paused, so we have added a "Paused" message that will display when the app is paused.
Thanks again to all those who have provided feedback for us. You really are helping to make the app better still.

Even the kids request it!
It works great! I teach first through third grade art, it can get a little crazy in there if I’m not on top of it. Too noisy is the best assistant, and the kids even enjoy it: Students monitor each other and will request it so that the classroom can be quiet so they can concentrate. I have been using it for at least a couple of years. I would give it a five if they would get some new background images. I’m tired of these images and would like more. But it is a lifesaver!

Nice App - 1 Suggestion
This app has been very helpful for our situation. The decibel meter is very accurate and the display options are nice.
My only suggestion and request is that the number of seconds before the warning alarm goes off can be changed. Currently, this is set at 4 seconds, but it would be very helpful if this number could be adjusted.

Great App
I love Too Noisy Pro and so do my students! It makes station time run smoothly and the students work at a very low level (or they're not talking at all). They even encourage each other to "keep it down" if they see the meter move. I've enjoyed the additional background themes and hope you add some more soon! My students love the cat, dog, and snowman backgrounds. Thank you for a great app!

Great App
I set the minutes for 10 stars to total the time until our next scheduled break, which I am really bad at remembering to give. This helps the students to maintain self control. Takes advantage of peer pressure to act properly, and reminds me to give breaks at the right time.

I use it everyday but it can use an improvement
I love this app I use it daily my one complaint is that it freezes if something interrupts the screen. A text or alarm. If you close it and check something else and come back it’s frozen. You then have to close the app reopen it and reset their stars.

I tried to contact the app support. I get an error page instead. I paid the 3.99 the first time. Then I needed an update, so I got charged again. Will I be charged every update? Overall, I really like the app. My students have responded well to it. I will continue to use the app for classroom behavior. Can someone let me know how the billing works. Thanks

Overall good app but...
The sensitivity levels are not close enough. 99% sets it off pretty easy, but 98% is not sensitive at all. Please make smaller variances between sensitivity levels. I can never use anything under 98%. Even 98% is too loud in my room. Fix this and it’s a 5 star app!

Best purchase ever!!!!!! Subbed in first grade today. This app worked beautifully!!! They were completely quiet all morning earning the 10 stars!!! The peer pressure was magical. So I popped popcorn for them after they reached the 10 stars. Quick. Easy snack. They were thrilled!!!!!! I was thrilled.

I can’t wait to use this with my class after Christmas break! It was recommended to me by another teacher. I LOVE that the class can EARN stars for being quiet as opposed to the ineffective LOSING of privileges. Will update once I get to use it.

Hardly reading the noise level
I’m not sure what I am doing incorrectly, but I had adjusted the levels to very sensitive and it barely picks up my students’ talking/noise level. I really wanted to use this app. My co-workers use it and love it, but I can’t seem to get it to work correctly.
