Best in 2012, still fun in 2022!
Recently rediscovered this game when my teenage daughter re-downloaded it onto her phone. Immediately recognized and remembered it, immediately re-downloaded it myself and commenced playing it for hours on end. The most frustrating part so far is only being able to purchase 5 more multipurpose slots (armor, talismans, etc). I have collected 2-3x that many items, and since it’s not possible to change out items once you encounter an enemy, there’s no chance for customized fight strategies. I’ve hit level 28, and reached the Bridge, and the top monster there is nearly undefeatable without using 5-6 restore HP potions. Not sure if that means I’m trying to advance too quickly. Also, at this level, the initial weapon, Flame Sword, seems to be quickly outperforming any of the other 6 or so sword options I’ve collected, except maybe Wind Dancer (double attack 50% chance). Still, despite these difficulties, I’m not ready to give up playing yet, just getting the impression that it’s time to settle in for the long haul if I want to make it to the end. Let the grind commence….

Not bad, good on the go or on the toilet
I'm currently lvl 96 on ToF but and bosses at this point just not do-able. All the bosses have one-hits, high stun chances, or reflect full damage back?!!?!! Like what the point in DEF it does seem to do much and it doesn't help that the lowest stats you get in the beginning. LUK does double damage but it caps at 60 but it doesn't seem to do much. My problem is the lag of weapon choices at certain point (FLAME SWORD all day) and DEF just doesn't seem to protect as much. LvL up isn't that rewarding less these ( +1 AllStats, +Match2, +Match3, +MaxHp) and these are in order of best to least. Individual Stats are ( +DEF, +ATK). LUK doesn't even matter but to easily assessable so lvling that is waste of time. At this point investing in high hp stack would be great to help avoid against being 1-shot.

This game can be addicting if you enjoy games based on the luck of the draw. But what makes it even more addicting is the customizations you come across like various weapons and enchanted items that can give you an advantage.
You can also go to the bar and spend your hard earned gold for the chance toincrease your total hp and luck which is invaluable in the later and harder levels you'll unlock.
Yes, its simple and mindless, but its extremely entertaining if you're in the mood for a casual dungeon romp. This has been an all time favorite of mine for years.

Great game, no ads, a bit punishing.
Tl:dr few good hours of gameplay, pleasant to look at, not too hard to avoid dying but if you die you start over, simple gameplay doesn’t take away from experience. Would recommend.

According to other people it seems once you progress far the difficulty curve becomes too steep I’ve played for about three hours and haven’t found any issues yet. My only problem is that if you die once you restart but I didn’t find that to be a huge issue.

Seriously worth your time. Masterpiece!
If you fancy retro graphics with amazingly fun mechanics this is a total winner. I collect vintage games and this captures the feel and atmosphere perfectly with some more modern refinements. It’s worth triple the asking price. Game Stew became my fave Dev with this. I couldn’t help but buy 4 of their other offerings within a few minutes of playing it. Don’t hesitate.

Genuinely good, especially since you can buy keys
I could definitely see the RNG of the slots pushing people away from this game, but the mechanics are frankly very well thought out and implemented. It is certainly tempting to spend real money to speed up the process of getting multiple endings, which I did do once, but actually grinding up to that point isn’t terrible. The mechanics are strangely rewarding in a way that I have never considered slots to be.

Could be better
Fun game, but the difficulty curve can sometimes get too steep. Also, the quest system leaves a little to be desired. In particular, there's no visual progress tracking, so it's very easy to lose track of how far away you are from completing the quests. I also find it annoying when I fail a "Survive 4 turns" quest because I win in 3, and I don't like that failing a "Defeat the enemy in (number) turns" quest makes it impossible to get more quests for the rest of that encounter.

Entertaining with replay value!
I’ll play for a long time, eventually move on to other games, but come back to this one. It’s easy to start and stop due to being able to play a battle or two before you have something to work on (phone call, appointment, etc)

Great idea turned into a slog of disappointment
The odds are scaled poorly, progress is slow and uninspired and replay value after tedium is poor. The idea here is excellent but it’s not applied well. The pacing is very slow and it falls incredibly short of a rogue-lite. It could be amazing if it were laid out well and some semblance of progress for replay value were implemented… but unfortunately it never is. Four times now they’ve made the game and each has been a bigger letdown than the last, a shame as this could have been a good series.

A fun take on the rogue lite genre
This game strikes a great balance between random chance, skill, and character building strategy. I have been playing it on and off for about two years which speaks to the games quality, most mobile games only last a few weeks on my phone.
