Some of you dutifully updated your iOS devices to iOS 13, then opened up the Transparent Classroom app to find it not working. Wa wa. It's because Apple changed some things with iOS 13 that broke our app and we didn't know about it. We've fixed the issue, and apologize for the inconvenience.
In the process of fixing the problem, we also broke push notifications. If the TC app suddenly became tight-lipped about updates about your child(ren), that's why. This release (hopefully) fixes that issue.
Thank you to everyone that has provided feedback about the app and how it could better suit your needs. Your feedback matters.

Bugs on newer iPhones
Ever since upgrading to the iPhone 13, I have an extraordinarily difficult time switching between my children on the app and sometimes can't do so at all. The app doesn't seem to fit the iPhone screen well and the arrow to switch between kids is right in the top center and is very finicky. Would be nice to maybe have an alternate drop down or way to switch.

Please Update Your Product
Since my phone updated to iOS 16.1.1 in November 22, the photo upload feature on the TC app won’t function properly. The website’s photo upload is painfully slow (one minute or more per photo). TC’s is aware of the issue with the most recent versions of iOS and told inquiring customers in November ‘22 that the next update would address this issue, and would be available by “end of year,” yet there is still no update, and many users are STILL unable to use the photo feature. Since photos are one of the main reasons we use TC in the first place, this product is losing more and more of its value by the day. Signed, a very frustrated teacher.

A huge benefit in the new distance learning environment
My son’s school rolled out TC this year. It was nice to see what he what works he was doing. Now that he is finishing his last 2.5 months as a 6th year remotely, it has been invaluable.
All of his works and projects are done through TC. We upload pictures of his works to share with his classmates. It is the primary tool we use for getting work and has been great. Are there things I wish it would do, yes. But for this emergency learning environment it has been ideal.

Needs to be more user friendly
I love the way the online website is set up but the app is not user friendly or orderly like you would expect for something Montessori. To tag a child after taking a picture with the app I must exit and go online log in hit activity (not photos) and then I can tag the children. To use this photo as a profile picture I then need to go to children select the child edit click on the area for the photo and select. I must guess how the photo will be cropped.
It would be nice within the app after taking the photo immediately being able to tag a child. Having a box to check to make the picture a profile picture would be amazing!

Great Concept/Meh App At Best
The app is pretty much just a photo update versus their website with much more information. Works be great to have all the same info as the website. Worst part is that it didn’t even do is intended purpose well. Notifications havens even been working properly so I just have to check randomly to see if a photo of my child has been uploaded.

Photos, not much more!
The TC app is clunky and only seems to be useful for uploading photos, though the quality of photos seems lower from the app. My Assistant tends to use the app for photos but I always have to go back in to tag the children and delete additional or blurry shots. I would love to be able to use it for easy record keeping and lesson planning as well as observations about each child. It would be wonderful to upgrade the app to be more useful and helpful for Guides.

Best tracking system
This is the best racking system for a Montessori classroom!! I love the ability to add photos, tag students and lessons at the same time. The user interface is easy to use and has a lot of functionality.

Worst daycare app I’ve used
God this is awful. It’s just a picture update and has no other functions. Tadpoles and other daycare apps that I’ve used are much better. They have videos, photos, real time updates of feeding/diaper, and allows parents to message with the teachers. Some other apps even have billing. This has nothing and I can’t believe the daycare I paid a premium for has this awful app.

Transparent Classroom has been a huge benefit to our school since 2016. During the pandemic, it has been essential. The app allows parents to upload photos of their children and their children’s work, which contributes to guides’ observations.

No notification
This app and thought is great. Wish the notifications are available for updates. Also the in app experience is only for photos and not for other information that website provides. So much potential for the app though !!
