Kallie Quist,
Great content, poor functionality
First I want to say (as many other reviewers have) that TTMIK is an awesome resource for learning Korean. I started a few months ago and have loved all the books I've used so far.

The app, however, really needs some improvement. I can't scan any book barcodes to save to my bookshelf (it always says Error Occurred when I try to scan) which, I can still find the books on the app, but it's more of a hassle to do each time. And also, the app crashes constantly on iOS. I can't get through an hour of studying without it freezing and crashing multiple times. And lately the app won't even open without crashing.

So the 3 stars is only for the bugs the app has, not the content itself. I really hope they can smooth out the bugs because I want to fully utilize all the wonderful resources on this app!!

App keeps crashing
First off, I want to say that I love the idea of this app. It’s very handy to be able to listen to the audio for all of the TTMIK books that I have in one place without having to download a bunch of files.

However, this app crashes on me all the time. I will be listening to a story or conversation, and suddenly it will stop playing. I have to reopen the app and manually go back to the book and audio file that I was listening to (it doesn’t remember to pick up where it left off), which is very frustrating. It happens frequently (twice in less than 15 minutes just now, which is why I’m writing this review) and honestly is quite annoying.

I think this is a great idea, but it seems like the TTMIK team needs to smooth out a few bugs to improve the user experience.

Frustrating
I love the program and content but I keep getting log-in failures on the app. No matter what I try: deleting and reinstalling the app, and multiple password change attempts. Also, now they are changing the website and will remove access to the podcast that go along with the books I spent $200 on if you don’t continue to pay a monthly subscription. There is only pronunciation audio files for the text and workbooks. I hope I’m mistaken about this. Still, I’ve been waiting 5 days for them to fix the problem with the app login. I don’t always have access to a computer.
Josh (김해 사는 사람),
App crashes constantly on iPhone
I’ve been a TTMIK user for two years and was very excited when this app first released because I thought it would give me the opportunity to review book audio on the go. I installed the app and found it crashed within 30-40 seconds any time the phone screen was locked. New app, okay, development is hard. I downloaded the app again today, six months later, figuring that would be plenty of time to fix it, but no, the issue is completely unresolved. In its current form this app is unusable on the apple iPhone. The last update was three months ago, and I’ve lost hope the developers will fix the issue. This is not the only review that complains of this problem, and in several of those TTMIK responded saying they were aware of the issue and it would be addressed soon. TTMIK, what gives? Your books are fantastic and the audio is too, but this app is sadly garbage.
a.h.s. boy,
Much improved
I was going to write a “why don’t they update this?” review for the old app, when I found this new one. Great improvement, and now I don’t have to fumble around with saving the audio tracks to Apple Music.

I second the confusion, however, over the missing lessons! Why aren’t the SoundCloud lesson tracks themselves available in the app? It supports TTMIK logins, so it should be capable of restricting access to subscribers as needed. Even if it’s “internet connection required” to save space, it would be an improvement over having to return to the website to load the lessons.
Michelle Branch Rocks!,
Excellent App - Just needs some bugs fixed
The app itself is fantastic. It is very easy to scan my books and get the audio files that go with them. The books only need to be scanned once and I can easily get to the files.

However, there is a somewhat major issue with crashes. Any file over about a minute long ends up crashing them app. I have tried on both the iPhone and the iPad and I’m having the same problem. For short files, it is not an issue, but it is pretty much unusable whenever I have a longer audio file that I need to listen to.

Great app but crashes
I love this app & the convenience of being able to have the audio tracks for each one of my purchases book. I also really like that I can simply scan my books, and they’ll automatically show in my library. That’s a great feature. This app would be perfect except it crashes often. I’ve already had to reinstall it 3xs. That’s my only issue. Otherwise, the app is wonderful.

App keeps crashing
Even after re-install. I wanted to use this app. Very frustrating. When it stops you have go through a bunch of steps just to locate the book you were using, incredibly, through an ad splash page. I paid for premium TTMIK, I bought these books, and you’re pumping me with ads when you should be getting me back to where I as studying in the book. TTMIK May be the best of all Korean teaching programs but this key tool, as others have noted, does not work. Other programs like LETS SPEAK KOREAN get the audio tech right and also without hammering you with ads every move you make. I hope you fix this but it’s been non-functioning since you put it up.
sharikak97,
so helpful as always i love this app so much
the existence of this app has made me so happy. i had downloaded the book audios for the books i have but the way the zip folders were labeled was kind of confusing and i could only play them on my laptop. this has everything organized so nicely and i can play things through my phone. just perfect. TTMIK 감사합니다 사랑합니다 🥰

Less useful if you bought the ebooks
This app is useful but I bought a bunch of their eBooks and there is no way to add them to “my books” because I don’t have a barcode to scan. It makes using this app much less convenient because I have to search for the books each time (and this makes no sense to me because it is not as though any of the audio is behind a paywall anyway.) So great if you bought the physical book, but less convenient if you got ebooks.
