Privacy policy states-
“You are not required to provide us with personal information to use the Platforms. ”
When opening the app, registration of the app is suggested. “*required fields” include first and last name, DOB, email address, country, physical address...
Registration can be skipped by exiting out of the initial registration prompt.
Your personal info will likely be used for advertising purposes.
Privacy policy-
“In some cases, we will share information we collect (including personal information and/or anonymous demographic information) with third party companies, including, but not limited to, parties that may offer products or services in which we believe you may be interested, and with colleges, universities and other entities with whom YouVisit has a customer or other contractual relationship, or prospective relationship. ”
I’m sure this is how they pay for the app and I see nothing inherently wrong with this type of business but the initial registration prompt makes it seem like a requirement to use the app and the privacy policy is not presented to the user before the prompt is. This seems dishonest and is clearly done intentionally.
To Apple, please make it a requirement for apps to display their privacy policies before requesting personal info! Transparency is the key to good tech business!
