About the app ideas ...comments and suggestions
Daytime commentators for espn are subpar and difficult to hear while streaming. I’m enjoying the app; especially your on the clock segment. Wish you had a notes section on the app or someway to list personal favorites to watch then get notifications when those players were about to begin their matches. Also... I would like the app to be able to create a personalized schedule of play according to personal favorites, which would include dates, start times, and court locations ( for easier streaming purposes). I see your app improving each year. I’m enjoying it very much.

Good but could be better
9/1/22 Have you ever tried to find all of the player from one country? Obviously not because it is extremely tedious. Missing a couple of key features n my opinion. There is no way to select all the players from one country as favorites. In other words there is no filter on the players screen to filler by country. Also there is no way to just to just view your favorites. Instead you need to scroll through all the matches. What is the point of having favorites if you can filter by them? Such an easy feature (it was present on the Wimbledon app) to implement and yet no go. For 2020 RADIO does not work! Icon Never changes from play to stop to play. No sound. Really poor showing. If this is powered by American Express they should get their money back. Sure it’s free but this is constructive criticism.

The first thing I would fix is when you get the red numbers alerting you to something needing to be addressed, have a way to actually know what those alerts are and then have a way to get rid of them. I keep getting them, I have no way of knowing what they are for or how to get rid of them.
Overall, the app is better than last year’s edition but still is lacking when compared to the Wimbledon app. I would compare the US Open to the Wimbledon app and then make your changes. This tournament does the absolute best at making money. Put a little more of that money into a good app which could be made the best. You have the best tournament in the world in the best location. It is time to make the app as good as the tournament. Quit making excuses.

Good but could be better (update)
Update saturday 9/1 - I enabled push notifications. The problem is it has no controls options for match start, mid-match scores, final scores. MLB app knows how to do this well. I want to be reminded when a match starts, but not learn blow by blow scores before i’ve watched a recorded match or am a few minutes behind in real time while watching. So, today, I accidentally glance at my phone to learn Madison Keys won 3rd set 6-2, while I was still watching at 3-2. Dang. Have to shut off push notications. Pretty useless.
On friday (8/31) video of matches wasn’t working on LTE. Favorites are great, but all favorites should be accessible from a pull down menu option in the players tab, not just embedded all the way down at the very bottom of the settings menu. I’m on iphone 8 plus ios 11.4.1

Best tennis tournament app on the planet
I’ve been using the apps for all four grand slam tennis tournaments for as long as they’ve been around. This year IBM has designed the best tennis tournament app I’ve ever used. One of the best features is that the app offers video highlights of every match for every player win or lose so you can get a real sense of how the players are doing and how their games are progressing through the whole tournament. The app is accessible and well designed. It’s easy to find the information that you want including the bracket draws. It’s just the greatest!!!

📚As a teacher preparing to return to school, for the past 25+ years, I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding matches played at the US Open! Today, I’m once again watching the incredible talented players: Felix, Sloan, Garbine, Simona, Andy, Stephanos, Ash, etc..
One memorable match played in 1994 was when my son, Nicholas, & I got to sit in the Peruvian box to watch the multitalented Jaime Yzaga defeat the #1 player, Pete Sampras! Oh what a 5 set match/marathon it was! On the recorded version that my husband, Alan, taped, you can hear my piercing voice chant “Let’s go Jaime!” “Jaime to win!” while Nicholas covered his ears & indeed he prevailed!🎾🏆🎾

Best of the Slam apps by far
I won’t rehash what lots of people have said already. Is it 100% perfect? Of course not, but it’s very deep once you know how to get around. What sets this app apart from the other Slam apps is stats—and by stats I mean IBM powered megastats that tell you anything you could possibly want to know about a player, match, individual set... like how far a player ran on average per point. That’s coach-level info you won’t find anywhere else. Bravo! And it’s free! I keep it open on my iPad while I watch the matches on ESPN+, and switch off between the two. Love it.

Why is the font so small on the Schedule page
Great app as always. But why is the font on the daily schedule page so much smaller than the fonts everywhere else on the app. It’s not adjustable either.
Is there a specific reason it’s so small?
For those of us that need some help with reading up close, please change the font to something similar to the font on the scores page or any other page. Thank you.

Best sporting event I’ve seen.
Well, it’s a bit creepy that I was poking around the app to see how to add a comment on how good this app is when I was prompted to rate it. I’ll assume that was a coincidence and that IBM has not (yet) developed the ability to read my mind via my phone.
As for the app, I was truly looking to leave a comment because everything I was looking for to recap today was easily found. Scores and schedules are formatted well and easy to navigate and I enjoyed sampling the press conferences.

Awful experience. Switched back to website!
App takes 8 seconds to boot up on an iPhone X. That is absurd! What makes it worse is coming back to check scores after using other apps for a few minutes this app has to start up all over again for another 8 seconds. That’s horrible multitasking! So bad I switched back to using their website. Also horrible is seeing only three scores on screen at a time. Make a more compact scoring list so we don’t have to scroll forever in early rounds when there’s are dozens of matches. Your website at least shows 4 and espn manages to show twice as many. Let us customize buttons at bottom. The draw is more used than the players section!!
