The app allows players to keep a digital journal of their tennis journey. Everything from tennis goals, to self-evaluation of practice and match performance can all be tracked in-app, reinforcing the positive habit of focusing on what they did well.

When practice is over, players can continue to learn when they receive constructive feedback, from their coach right in their app inbox, outlining what they did well that session, and what they can continue to improve upon.  They will also get motivated when their coach rewards them with a virtual badge when they have mastered a skill.

v1.2.2 resolves issues when building a custom lesson plan.

We have added even more curricula to the Net Generation Mobile App. Now you can find the relevant curriculum depending on your type of program: Coaching, Community, or Schools. With this app, Net Generation Safe Play Approved providers everywhere can take their practice and play plans on the go and on to the court.
Types of Curriculum
For Certified Coaches only - the coaching curriculum is a comprehensive, competency-based and collaborative suite of Practice and Play Plans from Pre-Rally to Red, Orange, and Green.

The Community, Red and Orange Curriculum encompass three levels of Practice and Play Plans. It is “Learn to Play” focused, designed to engage more players in the game of tennis. The program uses modified equipment to promote early success, with a focus on challenge, skills, and play.

The School Curriculum includes Practice and Play Plans for grades Kindergarten through 6. Across all grades, it truly recognizes the important role that physical education plays in introducing students to the game of tennis in their school. Through the collaborative effort between SHAPE America and the USTA, the Net Generation schools tennis program represents a standards-based comprehensive curriculum that all teachers can easily implement.

Curriculum Access

USPTA and PTR Certified Coaches can access all three curricula.
Non-Certified Coaches can access the Community and Schools Curriculum.

Other Features

Build Feature: Certified Coaches can customize lesson plans using the skills from the Coaching Curriculum. Assessment Tool: Certified Coaches can use the assessment tool to determine when to move players to the next level. A scale is included in the app to determine when players should move, and ultimately, this is up to the coach.

togasaki,
Quick assessment loses all data if you switch apps and come back.
I was doing the quick assessment for an EDC (Early Development Camp) and filled out all the ratings when I got a phone call. When I went back to the app, it lost all of the data and I had to type it in all over again.

The app should be able to keep data when switching between apps as long as you don’t quit it.

If you need help with programming, I can refer you to a couple of companies that do outsourcing and have experience making solid apps. Just let me know.

The app has some good information, but is not a solid app. It could use a good human factors person.
CoachAndrey,
Can’t log in
I have an account but it’s not letting me log in, just sending me to the website to create an account before telling me the account already exists and leaving me in an endless loop. Literally impossible to use the app if you already have an account. And the customer support just sends you to the USTA website without actually helping. This is the only way to help my students advance quickly past the green ball regulation but because this app is so absolutely useless I cannot even log in.
klacr,
Worst app on my phone
Not intuitive. Parents/players have issues connecting with me. They can’t even find out how to connect because USTA has them going to a different app. This app has pushed more parents and players away from the sport than has attracted them. Shameful
Sc11668,
Great Tool
Love the app and being able to easily rate players and share their results with parents. Also great to be able to share lesson plans ahead of time with other coaches
K-Bernard,

Hello Developers,

I think a patch is needed. I can’t login to even the transferred website it takes me to sign into my Usta account. The screen goes blank to the blue net gen screen background, followed by loading wheel. And then it crashes. I have deleted and reinstalled 7 times and it still does.

Please help as basically all the net generations features are no longer on the website anymore.

Anonymous!!!.......,

saharmog,

biil-chi,
Choose Player Bug
As reported with others, Choose Player with no players to Choose. Delete and re-install does not work with IPAD. Contacted USTA Customer Care.
Caitlin21$,
Great teaching resource!!
This app is a great tool for teaching tennis. It's a perfect tool to bring on court with youth players at varying levels.
lq_msu,
Couldn’t even login
I couldn’t even login, it keeps asking to reset password. And after I successfully reset my password, it still won’t let me login. What’s going on?
