This app is set up so incredibly well! Not too many people in my rural corner of the US, but I’ve made a few friends from other places. All the features and the checks on activity and joining have created a well-functioning platform that I’d recommend to anyone looking to make vegan friends! I haven’t used the dating function of this app, so everything I say is only applicable to the friends function. Things are a little buggy, i.e. I can’t get notifications for chats to work. I’ve had significantly more luck connecting with people on this app than any other app, would recommend.

Like-minded community
The app actually gives a sense of the vegan community in a way where people feel connected with each other for once. I have actually been able to have conversations with people compared to other “dating” or social apps and from around the world. It is very nice to have an app where I can connect with the world for social, environmental, humane, and global cause.

Photo issues
The app has problems in the signup area. I tried three times to just get my account set up. Each time I would have an issue with uploading a photo and it would start me from the beginning. I have a long, beautiful story of how I become a vegan. I used all 300 charioteers. Three times. And I hate writing. I hate the “tell us about yourself”.
So now I have to write it a 4th time?

I wasn’t raised saying grace. Day after day, week after week, beating myself up about not doing it. One night, watching another video, about a Native American around 1930’s. He leaves the big city, disgusted by modern society and the treatment of animals, humans, and the world, he goes back home. He hunts a deer with a bow, shot’s it, and stalks it. Kneeling beside he thanks it, and takes its life. I bust out crying and say aloud, “if I can’t thank them, then I’ll never eat them again.”

Finding love and making friends
When I decided to start getting serious about the type of people I was dating I needed to make sure they align with my core values and this app allowed me the opportunity to meet the most amazing girl. I also use this app to make friends since I was new to the city and it’s really allowed me to build a community. Highly recommend for vegans!

Definitely prefer this over Veggly. While the user base isn’t as expanded, as with any social network or Veblen Good, the value increases as more users are on it.
Also met rly cool people. While image fetching is kind of wonky, the people are cool, especially the founder who’s also on the app!! Try it out!! Also good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor 🫡

Issues
Poorly designed app. Poorly thought out user experience. Really really poorly considered. Can’t even let them know what I don’t like about it because the developer didn’t think about the fact that the keyboard covers up the continue button which needs to be removed in order to press continue to leave them feedback. In 2022, who leaves the keyboard in the way of the only manner of telling you why you’re deleting your profile? Someone who doesn’t think about the user experience, that’s who. The rest of the app has these sorts of issues

Vegpal is an amazing platform to connect with fellow plant-based vegan people! This is a one of a kind platform and experience because it allows people who have similar lifestyles that align with other vegans to connect and fellowship! I just downloaded it, but I enjoy the ease of use and how straightforward everything is from the beginning. I'm still working on becoming a vegan, but this definitely seems like a great starting point. There are people in my area as well so that only helps!

Can only like 1 person every 5 hours
It’s very inconvenient to only be able to like 1 person every 5 hours. You can still consciously choose to like someone without needing to wait that long. Other apps at least let you go through maybe 20 profiles every few hours but this is ridiculous. It’s really sad too because it would be a good app besides. But I can’t recommend due to their design flaw. DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!!!!!!!!

Too many scammers
I wanted to like this app and I know the devs are actually vegan but the app needs live face validation. I’m a guy. Just had someone connect with me. We started chatting. Pretty quickly guessed it was a fake person and sure enough, within three texts “she” suggested we move to WhatsApp. When I challenged that “she” told me to F off. I’m glad to see some others getting benefits here but without controls it’s pretty much a waste of time if you’re a guy weeding through all the fake accounts, trolls, and scam scum.
