Disappointing update
Like previous reviewers mentioned this app is mediocre at best. The recorded files used to display gps tracking info on a map below the video when played but but after recent update I just get a blank space instead. No map no go’s tracking no nada. It is not the units fault as the video shows embedded GPS info at the screen bottom so it is the software no doubt. This happened after recent update. I wish there was a way to go back to the previous version. To be fair the app is still useful to manipulate camera settings and review and download files if you get the WiFi to work. And here is my other gripe: the recent firmware update suppose to “improve” WiFi modem operations. Not for me. I set the WiFi to 2.4ghz and could not see it on my phone. Same for 5ghz “auto”. I was able to get the network to show up only after setting it to 5ghz and specific channel. And I had to do it in the camera itself as changing WiFi settings in the app would not result in WiFi network being visible in my phone. Note to developer: please resist the urge to update something that is actually working. Previous version was working for me flawlessly if you don’t mind the outdated windows 95 look of the app itself… hopefully next update will address the issues🤞🤞🤞

the camera is awesome but the app itself is pretty awful compared to other dash cams apps i've had. you're unable to play back your recordings in the app majority of the time. you have to download them to the app for them to play and half of the time it fails. it also doesn't save that the camera is yours, you have to wait for the wifi to connect to have it show yours. previous dash cams i've had will at least show you the different cameras you have and will tell you that they're offline. the only way i can pull my recordings it to put it into a computer but with that you can't see the GPS. also you can NOT see the live feed, it's just a black screen. correction, you can only view everything while on airplane mode. that's the only way you can view anything on the app. PLEASE change this!

Complete Garbage!
This app is a complete piece of garbage. It’s the whole reason I returned the A139 Dashcam. It’s poorly designed and the Live Feed never worked. I needed to see the Live feed so I knew where to position the 3 camera in my truck, but it only ever showed a black box where the Live Feed should be. I know the cameras were working, as I could see the thumbnail image of the captured video. The playback of the video files is insanely slow. It took nearly 5 min for a 15sec video to start playing. This is a absolutely horrible time to wait to view a video. Downloading to the phone was 10x worse. It failed the first 2 time, then took 15min to download the 15sec video from the camera to my iPhone 12 Pro Max. It also keeps showing me images of a different dashcam than what I have.

They need to take some time and make the app better, and more modern. The UI is trash. Why is there a big empty space below where the life feed should be. Use that space to show a live feed from each of the cameras instead of overlaying them onto the main cameras live feed (if you can even get that to work.)

Instead of creating a hotspot to connect to, let the camera connect to the users home WiFi, and then we can access the feed & files from inside the home. Instead of having to sit in the vehicle for 15+ minutes while a video downloads.

A139Pro 2-Channel is a Great Dash Cam but the Viofo App destroys any goodwill
I had a new Viofo A139 Pro 2-Channel professionally installed in my Mini Cooper a couple of days ago, and I can say the camera itself is a great piece of equipment. But then I downloaded the Viofo App so I could control the system, and download video with GPS/Speed data when needed. All I can say is the Viofo App is a piece of unadulterated garbage. First I had to go on-line and research as to why I couldn’t see the current recording in progress in the app. It showed a black screen but gave me the Time/Date/GPS data. Took a while but determined that you need to got into “Settings-Cellular”-then scroll down to the Viofo App and shut down cellular data. That will clean up the no video problem. (Several people listed turning on “Airplane Mode” which basically does the same thing.) After fixing that problem I am now researching why I can see the GPS map below the video – still haven’t been able to fix that problem and it doesn’t appear there is a fix. This would have been a 5-Star purchase but for the garbage software. Was planning on getting the same system for my wife’s Mini, but now I think I’ll research other camera systems that have a better app.

Unfortunately, it is not displaying correctly for me
I am an Uber driver, and a friend recommended this product in the accompanying app with a full five stars! However, they have the previous version, and this version is not even displaying the image thumbnails for the videos, all I get is grayscale playback button images, so I can’t tell which video is from which camera. It also randomly displays from a few days back or maybe yesterday, but I can never really get immediate video playback. For instance, if I was to record this five minutes, we are in right now. I cannot then go to my app, sign in and view what I just recorded… Maybe in a couple days…

Works.. Sometimes
When connected through WiFi , live feed does not work unless my iphone 7+ is in airplane mode. When trying to view videos recording needs to be stopped, when trying to record again the app freezes and does not allow me to press record through the app or the device itself. Only thing that solves the issue is turning the car off and restarting the camera. Not convenient for a frequent traveler. The settings and parking mode needs to be fixed as it does not switch to auto record when vehicle ignition is on. All videos should be saved to some sort of cloud on the app as opposed to having to transfer every single video in order to properly view it. Yes, trying to view videos through the app on WiFi is a complete waste of time as videos won’t load even if right next to the device. If the App is fixed and functional. I’ll gladly update my review.

Sub par customer service
Have the VIOFO a129 pro and it the front camera has worked for over a year. However the back camera has always been intermittent. It finally wouldn’t work so I bought a new one from VIOFO and then it promptly stopped too. Customer service wanted another $30 plus I had to pay shipping to them. I can’t justify it. They want to squeeze every little drop out of their customers so I told them I’m going to write bad reviews and not recommend their products anymore.

Oh and the app doesn’t let you connect very well. If you’re sitting still in front of your house on good cell and wifi it takes around 7 min to connect since it gets confused and restarts the process. I just end up taking out the school card and going to my computer when I need footage. Not worth using the app

I have not been able to view any videos nor adjust settings to my Camera SINCE I BOUGHT IT!!! and I've had this Camera for a Year! - I was recently in an accident, and the only way I was able to provide evidence to the Police was because I was carrying an SD CARD to insert the Micro Card in and the Police Officer was able to view the videos in her Laptop. IF I would have relied solely on this App completely, there would have been no way to share the evidence against the other Driver.
YOU, DEVELOPERS NEED TO FIX THIS! And it is not that I had no signal, I was in a 5G area and had Wifi available and still the App has not detected my camera, nor ever!! (EVEN AFTER FOLLOWING OVER 100 times the App instructions).
FIX THIS! Update the APP, people should be able to share information with Authorities.

In the app black screen
The app is good but a little slow to load videos to watch on your phone i’m sure it’s not my internet connection. But anyway at the first screen when u start the app it’s supposed to show u what’s happening live but instead it’s just showing me a black video needs to be fixed but other than that the camera functionality is good and works just work on the app live video black screen and please don’t let the user stop recording in order to view settings or videos in storage and then not be able to do that because videos won’t load. I hope with these little changes VIOFO can definitely become a leader in the market.

Doesn’t work as advertised
Extremely disappointed. Live view does not work unless you turn your phone’s cellular service off... which is dumb.

If the app doesn’t crash when you try to play videos, it can take up to 20 mins to load and play a 3min video, and even longer if you want to download it to your phone (not an exaggeration).

As of the most recent update, and am not able to download or play videos at all without the app crashing.

VIOFO seems to pretty frequently update the app to “fix bugs”... but it is getting worse and harder to use with each update.

The dashcam itself has it’s own issues, and has randomly deleted recent and important footage I needed when the camera indicated it was recording at the time of that footage.

I’ve had my VIOFO dashcam for about 4 months now. My only expectations were for it to work as advertised. It does not.

I am very disappointed in VIOFO and I do regret the purchase of my viofo dashcam - if you’re debating on purchasing one - there are many other options in the same price range that work as intended. I’ll likely be switching to a different one soon.
