Really WORKS & FREE !!!! Funny too
I downloaded this on a whim because I'm taking the SAT really soon...and it turned out to be really helpful and great. Not gonna lie, I was surprised how time flew by studying and now I'm going to see what else these guys have in other apps because it's been the easiest way to learn important vocabulary. I know that vocab is worth so much on the SAT and I've heard that it's the CR section that colleges really care about, maybe math too. It's FREE which is great, and just these words alone are going to help. I've seen them come up a lot on the practice tests that I've been taking already. Two words: GET IT. You have nothing to loose, that person that said its sexist, idk. Crazy.

Good, Helpful, But Sexist?
I gave it a higher rating because it did help me a lot. I did better on the quiz on this app than all other apps after just one look at the pictures and definition of the words. It helped a lot. The reason I took off one star is because it does seem sexist towards females. Most pictures of females are of them being overweight, like for the definition of huge. I think something like a whale or elephant would fit that better. I don't know for sure if this was intentional or not, but the amount of pictures of women being overweight versus the amount of pictures where men seem perfect or better than women or whatever seems to me that it is more intentional than not. Even my brother thinks it's sexist towards women.

The best tool to learn vocab!
I am a long time tutor for SAT, ACT, ISEE and SSAT. This app is a tutor's dream come true! Better than flashcards, vocabulary worksheets and all the other aids I've tried to get students to use over the years, the app puts the PICTURE in their minds, attaches the WORD and its definitions to it – and let's them HEAR the word, too. Kids always have their cellphones and they can easily snatch 5 minutes on the way to school or between classes. 5 minutes twice a day and they are done! The pictures are fun, evocative of the meanings; the definitions are concise and true; the quiz functions very helpful: Visual Vocab is a champion! Now looking forward to upgrade for iOS 11.

Great pictures and words
The pictures are great. Some are funny, some are disgusting, all make the words easier to remember. Not sure what the other reviewer is saying about sexist pictures. There is a picture of a fat lady (for "immense"), but there are also females in numerous positive photos and males in bad (and good) pictures. Looks like they praise and insult both genders pretty equally. One thing to note here is that the pictures in this set are a subset of the ones in the "epic" set, so if you buy that one, there is no need to keep this one on your phone. This is a great place to get a good feel for the app and learn 50+ words that show up frequently on the test.

Fun and engaging!
The combination of photos and vocabulary makes the words easy to remember, which is a huge plus. The quiz section and "star" feature are extremely helpful and help ensure that you memorize the words.
Easy to use and convenient-the interphase is welcoming and user-friendly.
Overall, I would highly recommend this app if you are studying for a test, or even if you just want to improve your vocab-definitely check this out if you like programs such as Quizlet!

it works!
I was a skeptic, but now I am convinced. The pictures make it really easy to learn and remember the words. I have tried out several vocab apps, and it is clear that most of them are made by people who just throw a bunch of words into an app without stopping to consider whether or not they are likely to actually appear on the test. I have been taking practice tests and have seen many of these words on the tests.

I love this & suggestion
This app is amazing I can actually learn and memorize those words. Other apps make those words even harder to explain such as putting more hard words into that explanation and I have to search what those words even mean sooo annoying. The definition just doesn't make sense. Thanks to this app made my life much more easier! And hopefully this app can add more words in that'll be great!

The most effective and friendliest way to learn vocabulary. If you have any TREPIDATION about the vocabulary section on the SAT just pick this app up and soon you'll be confidently speeding through SAT vocabulary questions. The pictures are memorable and the interface is intuitive. It's free, so you should go ahead and download it. Also I highly reccomend that you buy the epic and pro versions. Multiple times.

Incredibly awesome!
This app was such a unbelievable thing! I've mastered all of the words here within less than 6 days! What a great achievement for me! The pictures make me learn faster and the sentence example make me understand better. I have no reason not to give this five stars. Extremely amazing, just give it a try!

It works
My SAT tutors made me get this app to learn more vocabulary. It's not like learning words is so fun that it is the first thing I want to do when I reach for my phone, but it is a lot better than using a list of words or flash cards. It is almost enjoyable, which is saying a lot for educational software. 😃
