Greatness.
I'm not one to spend money on apps simply because I know that I won't use them in the future. However, I was really worried about my critical reading score on the SAT because I didn't know much vocabulary. This app is perfect. Learning a list of words is never fun and not always that easy. With this app, you learn with the aid of pictures. This is extremely helpful because when you take the quizzes to see where you are, your mind links the word with the picture. You will see results and you'll get a lot of out it!

Used more than expected - updated
I purchased the app for my son to play. He is not a fan of "educational" apps, but he understands the importance of knowing vocabulary for the SAT. One of his first comments after coming out of the SAT last weekend was how many of these words were on the test. Pleased.
Note -- downloaded the update (1.1) and have noticed only a couple of changes (all for the better). The app is much smaller than it was before, and the quiz function now briefly shows the right answer if you get the question wrong.

Very fast learning experience
It is very helpful for visual students to learn vocab fast ! I download this app yesterday and I've memorized already 200 vocabs !! The pictures really helped. Flash cards are the samething if you were to memorize it out of a workbook. The best way is to get visual image of the words and the app also give sentence examples. This app is in fact very lucid and succinct :) I've also downloaded the pro version for harder vocabs to further enhance my vocabulary. No regrets

Sound doesn't work!
Pronunciation/sound feature won't work on my iPhone 6S Plus! Please fix and update the app (hasn't been updated since 2014).

UPDATE: sound disappeared again. What a crappy app.
My other (major) problem with the app is an abundance of extremely easy filler words. Examples:
"quell reversal revere aesthetic arrogant negligent ensure prosperity backfire distant"
Everyone knows these! I don't see any reason to include this filler stuff other than marketing ("look how many words we have") or the creator's having trouble finding illustrations for more difficult vocabulary.
Also, the pronunciation volume is inconsistent. Some words are really quiet and some are loud. Makes it awkward when I use it in public.
The loud music in the main menu that plays at the app start should be removed. It sounds lame and sometimes creates unexpected disturbance when I forget to turn the volume off in public or during the night.
Other than that it's a good idea with a lot of potential.

Fantastic
This app works wonders. I know so many more words and it works 100 times better than any flash card could. The only negative thing I would say is that when you pay more for the next level of vocab words you get many of the same words as previously studied and not a large amount. If this app had a thousand words I would be so happy because I really think this is the best way to learn vocab!

Wow. Just wow.
It is not often that I laud apps publicly, but boy does this app deserve some high praise. My vocab has improved dramatically and I was able to bring my critical reading score up by over 100 points!!! But not only has this app done wonders for my SAT score, but it has also helped me understand more words in reading and conversation. If there is one vocab app out there that you should get, it is undoubtedly this one.

Even better than the free version (see my review). The expanded, more challenging word list comes especially in handy on the vocab sections and the essay. Chances are pretty high that you'll encounter words on the test in answer choices that you'll recognize from this app.

Impressive
Usually SAT vocab lists overwhelm me, but this app made the struggle of learning copious numbers of words less onerous and more fun. The simple format makes it easy to comprehend, giving even the most restless student (me), something entertaining to focus on. As much as I hate spending more than 99 cents on apps, I think this one was worth it... I guess we'll find out when I take the test.

Prescient and pleasant
I was surprised to discover just how many of the words in this app appeared on last week's real SAT. The people who chose the words clearly know the SAT. I also enjoyed looking at the pictures. Some were shocking, some were funny, all were memorable.
