--

Step One: Sweat

You choose your activity challenge each day - either to walk 10,000 steps, accumulate 30 minutes of exercise (exercise minutes tracked via an Apple Watch or Fitbit), or take class at a Vizer partner studio.

Step Two: Give

Every day you reach your goal and tap Donate, Vizer partners donate a meal on your behalf.

Messages from the Vizer Community

“I now park in the back of the parking lot to make sure I get my steps in.” Jules M.

“Vizer is a win, win, win - a win for exercisers, a win for our community, and a win for local business.” Karim B.

--

Cause

1 in 5 children do not have access to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle. Vizer is on a mission to change that.

All meals earned on Vizer are powered by corporate sponsors and distributed by community partners. Sponsors donate through a participating non-profit, which sources and distributes the meal to communities combating food insecurity.

--

Distribution

Meals earned on Vizer are distributed by partnered food banks to populations combating food insecurity. Vizer supports both independent food banks and food banks in the Feeding America network.

--

Compatibility

Vizer pairs with Apple HealthKit to track your activity. We track your steps through your iPhone or a compatible wearable.

The exercise minute challenge is only compatible with Apple Watch and Fitbit. Stay tuned as we will be unrolling additional integrations this winter!

To check in at partner studios, make sure your bluetooth is on and your location services are shared with Vizer.

Alexa DiAntonio,
Team Vizer all the way!
Vizer is part of my daily app usage. I could not say enough good things about not only the app but the story behind what Vizer is for. I have been using visor for a little over a year in which I have been able to donate almost 200 meals just by working out. The app is really easy to use, navigate, and track just how much of an impact each person makes. I have an Apple Watch so that is what I use to track my steps and workout activity for the daily meal donation. I live in San Diego and there are so many fitness centers, gyms, fitness classes, and restaurants that have partnered with Vizer. I haven’t been able to sign up for classes that I may have never before and eat places with perks that I may never have visited if not for Vizer communication via the app and email is always consistent, informative, and fun! Last year there was a Vizer challenge in which it pushed me to do even more for the app and team! The app is always up to date and I’ve never had glitches or issues. My one recommendation would be Vizer merch and continuing with competitions- it keeps people motivated! Thanks for all you do, team Vizer!
Krista OB,
BEST APP!!
I have been using Vizer for a while now (almost 300 meals donated!) and I am obsessed! I tell everyone who will listen to download the app, I think it’s such an amazing concept that I truly believe in. I’m a nurse and most of us hit 10k steps on a normal work day so why not give back to our community in the process. I’ve been through many updates with Vizer and the app keeps getting better and better. The “current streak” feature always motivates me to get a workout in when I’m feeling lazy. My only suggestion is to broaden the places to redeem the points. It seems like most options are in north county and I live all the way in la Mesa so I always forget to use those points. But it always seems like they are adding new sponsors so I love that. Thanks vizer!
SoulfulSun,
Great and huge potential!
I love the mission behind the app and how the users know the partner company (Chobani for example) that is providing the meal to the food distributed (Feeding America for example). I would like to know more information about how this works and also more information about the background of Vizer.

In terms of how the app functions, I would like to see a broader range of gyms you partner with. I live in a small town so I understand why my small gym doesn’t show up on your radar. I also don’t have a FitBit or Apple Watch so I’m using the app solely off my phone tracking steps which works well enough. However, I get 30 active minutes almost every day but I’m not able to donate a meal that much because the current range doesn’t accept my gym as a partner and tracking active minutes with my current platform isn’t feasible. All in all, I have the capability to be donating a lot more meals and I would love to do so! I would to see a way for your team to expand these options!
latenightchi,
Great Cause and good for me too
I don’t remember where I saw a note about Vizer, perhaps Huffington post or morning brew, newsletters I get each day via email. I am so glad I joined just a few days ago. I have gotten in more than 10,000 steps each of those days and has given away 11 meals in 11 days so far. There is absolutely no downside. If you need an incentive to walk 10,000 steps or more, the website will help you there. I did not need that incentive because I do it anyway. But being able to help provide food and especially critical need in the pandemic and with all the in equity. Makes me feel really good. So glad the app is available. I highly recommend it. My daughter joined right after me and I am putting it on my husband’s phone as well. Will tell all my friends about it too.
mermaidmonica,
Workout motivation and Helping others
I just learned about this company and my experience so far is fantastic. When a participant works out 30 minutes or 10,000 steps, a company donates a meal through Feeding America to someone in need. What a fabulous concept. I am so happy to participate and it has given me a little extra motivation to get my workouts in. I shared this with one of the trainers at the YNCA where I work out and she signed up and is going to share with her clients too. The company had reached out to me several times since I started and made me feel like part of a great community too. I highly recommend participating.
peach forever,
Awesome App- Wish the Meal Donation felt more personal
I love this app and this concept. I live in TX but not being able to qualify for the local rewards stuff still isn’t a problem for me. What I wish this app had was the ability to make you feel a little more connected to the meal you “donated”? Maybe additional information of how many meals were also donated that day would help? It would be cool to know what the meal was if that makes sense? It’s hard to remember to log my workouts because I’m still struggling to make the connection that by working out I am helping donate a meal. Anything that pulls back the curtains for us a little would be so meaningful.

Regardless, I believe as this app grows in popularity it will have a lot more features. I’m excited to see the growth of this app.

Restaurants don’t honor credits
I’ve been using this app for over a year. I have accrued many credits and rarely used them. However every time I have tried to use them the featured restaurants’ employees have no idea about their partnership with this app and will not honor the offer. I experienced an extremely rude and argumentative manager at Tocaya (one of the only restaurants in partnership with Vizer near me) who refused to acknowledge this partnership despite me showing her the screen where this is very clearly spelled out. I start to wonder if meals are even being donated when I use this app. Why is this information not being passed down to employees that are supposed to be dealing with this simple transaction? I’ve reported this issue in the app every time it has happened and have received zero response or acknowledgment.

Suggestions
First off I want to say that I love this app. It actually communicates with my Apple Watch with no known unexpected behaviors occurring. I love their mission to feed the hungry just by doing something I do everyday for free. With that being said I have two suggestions. 1. Accumulate the Apple Watch data so that we can go in the app days later and donate, just in case we forget that day . 2. Give us an option to donate to animal shelters . People love animals as much as humans , maybe even more lol! Animal shelters are in desperate need of food and supplies and this would be a great way to help them. Anyways these are my suggestion, keep up the great work :)
Steps to Feed The Hungrey,
Helping Others Through Vizer
The Viser app provides an easy way, at no cost to you, to help communities in need by donating a meal on a daily basis. For a long time, prior to this app, I have been reaching the daily goal of 10,000 steps or 30 minutes of activity anyway. Finding out about the community benefits of this app while expending energy to stay healthy and at the same time help an individual receive the daily nourishment a lot of us take for granted is a WIN-WIN. No better feeling at the end of the day to hit the donate button knowing someone who is hungry will receive a much needed meal.
Yayaywooo,
Cool concept
I initially downloaded the app purely for the concept, which is unique and inspiring on its own. I feel so much better about my workouts knowing I’m also helping make a difference by donating a meal to those in need. I didn’t realize there was more to the app like getting rewarded by businesses as well. Unfortunately, there are no businesses in my area at all that are involved at this point, so I have been unable to test that part out. I am still using the app for the sole reason I downloaded it: to donate meals after a workout. I wish that the app could sync up to past workouts in case I forget to log onto the app that day and donate. I also hope they build more relationships with businesses all over.
