ITS THE Ol’BAIT AND MA MAN....it’s the way of this sad sad devolving world...
Swfan721....I feel your pain brah...I can remember waaaaay back when I was a young whipper snapper and this kind of tactic was used when salesmen were trying to sell you like a car,door to door vacuum cleaner salesman,or prostitution(they still do this for that though...trust me)etc..They promise the world and this and that and once they hook you,reel you in and any problems,complaints after that “falls on deaf”ears...? I suggest with EVERYTHING you from now on,do your homework,dont let’em get anywere close to you with that hook,and the fine print and get everything in writing! Read up on any customer reviews is also VERY important now days,as long as they are legitimate customers giving them,you can usually figure out which are staged/fake by looking for patterns! Always remember...they need you ALOT more than you need them.....GOOD LUCK YOUNG’IN !!!

Possible to play without VIP, but difficult
The simulated battles do not figure tactical choices whatsoever, and merely slightly randomise the strength of strikes, accuracy, crit, etc and it is Rare that even a slightly pitched battle is won by the underdog. The game is populated by players with powers in the thousands, millions, and billions. It is almost only by virtue of the ability of a player to be accepted into an Alliance that one can grow in power, survive attacks, and gain ground. Earning sucessively higher VIP status earns more benefits and is possible without spending, but it is almost interminably slow. Be prepared to spend a few bucks at first, then a bit more. The best servers have NAP's- Non Agression Protocols in which they alternately have peace and mayhem on a weekly cycle. Ugh, I cant stay away from this game. You can have both a quick login character and a registered character, and also log into different servers.

Used to be great. Not anymore.
The developers have become unresponsive to users reporting issues. Locked out of your account? Crickets. Need assistance with something? Crickets. This morning, I made an in-app purchase. I was billed, but did not receive what I purchased (a monthly pass and bonus gems). It’s been 6 hours since I emailed the developers with no reply. You might think I’m not giving them enough time. Well how about this... my alliance leader had the exact same thing happen over a month ago. He’s emailed them numerous times. Still no response. A friend who plays for another alliance had the same thing happen. No response. Another one of my alliance mates lost 15,000 gems. Thy just disappeared one day. He emailed the developers. No response. This used to be a great game. But now, well, it seems like bald-faced theft. At this point, all I can say is buyer beware. If the developers are going to take your money but provide no support, you should stay away from this game.

This game gives me heartburn
I found the ad, yes it’s illegal due to false advertising, but I was stupid enough to download it anyways. The people that made the game do not understand that “war of colony” is not a title, sentence, or phrase that makes sense in the English language. After 5 minutes of playing this game I realized that it was a waste of time. I looked away from the screen on my phone after playing and saw that my heart was on fire and that I now had high blood pressure. I am in the hospital right now because of War of Colony. To quote Michael Scott, “I hate all the things that [this game] choose[s] to be.” Also, the game looks like it was drawn in crayon. It is brutal. The Neanderthals that claim the game is about “tactics and defense” will never learn how to spell that phrase without the assistance of their parents. I hope they put the game down and play chicken with flaming arrows. I hope they reenact this game in real life. This is a brutal review and it might sound a little personal but at this point I’m fine with that.

Ads are fake😾
I saw an ad and I said to myself "a first person game from the revolutionary war that's gotta be good". So I got the game it was good animation in all but I was confused by the layout. So I continued but the further I got the more annoyed I got. I was thinking "well the ad didn't look like this". So once I got to the first battle I was done. The ad showed a first person game and it looked like you had to kill all the British or complete different missions. And it was first person. Now what made me mad was the game was another one of those stupid games were you have to build your base and battle. I would be okay if the battle was first person but it was the same as a lot of other games. You make a group of soldiers and you battle in a third person view. This game is the same as a lot of other games and should have something unique about it. But it didn't so it didn't take me very long to delete it. Don't waste your time on a game that lies.

Dishonest Company
I’ve been a longtime player of WoC and I’ve seen and heard of so many situations where players have paid money but never received the game funds or glitches with buying in game items (not to mention all the gameplay glitches). The developers do not respond to emails and do not solve problems. A recent issue that I’ve personally seen is with the supreme year card. I purchased this close to the beginning of the year, assuming it would last for a year. Yesterday, I still had 200-something days left on it. And today, it says to reactivate it. Is it a glitch? Or are the developers committing fraud with their game? Who knows. And this issue won’t be resolved like all the other issues players have seen. If you want to play the game, play it, just don’t waste your money on it because it’s not an honest investment. They’ll take your money and run away with it.

Company steals from players.
I wanted to update my review. Beware this company will double bill you and bill you for things you did not buy. The company never replies to any emails you have to fight through you CC or Apple iTunes.
At first it was an okay game, but there are always merges of the servers and so many glitches in the game. There is no guide on how the game is played and the tech support is nonexistent. The only thing the developers are concerned about is your money and half the time you don’t get gems you have payed for. You can only be competitive if you spend large amount of money. Some have spent 1000s on game and makes it unfair. Wish I never spent a dime on stupid game.

BEWARE!!!
This was a great game until you get locked out of your account. The customer support is horrible. I have spent well over $2000 and I have been locked out for a week. Due to the horrible updates, I have had to delete the app and re-download. Once I reentered into the game I could not recover my account. I was in one of the beginning servers and even that along with all the money I have spent they could care less to fix the problem.
They spend more time trying to launch new updates instead of fixing the previous issues they’ve had. The chat function in the game is horrible. If you’re playing in an expo alliance members get kicked because their server cannot handle everyone being online. I have sent war of colony five emails with no response. It is absolutely unreal. Beware, beware!

The fact that the game is NOTHING like the ads is secondary to what I have dealt with. While the game itself is good it is just too comparable to many others out there in game play and graphics. The worst part is that when they updated, I was not able to apply the update on my iPhone. After deleting the game and reinstalling they were not able to reinstate my character. I lost everything I had built up and everything I had paid for. I sent them emails requesting help and they only responded with a question of what my server and name was! That was over a month ago!!! I requested a refund and of course they still will not respond! So unless you want to throw money away at a game that is nothing different than many others you have already played, don’t download this one!!

How Boring
Dont waste your time on this game as it is very boring. People use all this money to get to max level and then they got nothing to do. I dont understand why the developers dont make it so we can rally someone with our guild. Then the big players would have something to worry about, but no cant do that so the big money players have nothing to worry about. The amount of resources you need to build troops and buildings and researches are crazy. You cant really farm for it because everybody wants the points for killing enemy troops. So basically you either have to have for your base to produce the resources or pay. Then comes the issue of big players attacking your base for the resources. You can shield but wait again you have to use money or win it. Go luck winning a shield.
