oltreacio,
Buggy program
I agree with the previous review that describes intermittent disappearance of saved data, sometimes rather large swathes of same, making accumulation of comprehensive data graphs to patients’ respective physicians worthless. Exceedingly frustrating to have hard spent efforts in collection, often over a few weeks, obliterated in a single electronic hiccup.

I have had this same problem with the program on both an iPhone 6 and 11, through various iterations of its OS, and have tried reinstallation of the program on an individual phone with no benefit. Times, volumes of occurrence seem purely sporadic.

I have phoned customer service about this in detail today. Judging by the previous review and the overall assessment of this software by apparently 91 people as only 2 stars, it would seem WA either doesn’t know about it, doesn’t care, or can’t fix the bug. I only hope that it is the first of these options and will upgrade this software to function to work as a capable companion to the excellent hardware.

The only complaint I have about this otherwise fine instrument is that disconnection of the BP hose from the recorder is kludgy(at best), and needs a bit of a design tweak to make it an easier process.

BTW, the in-line editor with this reviewer software for is unusually helpful. Maybe they can be enlisted to fix the software bug in your equipment!! 😂
Candy Dufresne,
Limited functionality
I’d like to offer a glowing review, but a handful of limitations make that hard to do. First is that this expensive BP monitor can only be used by one person since the app doesn’t allow multiple user profiles. For some reason, there is also no way to review previous readings except via the app; that is, once it disappears from the screen on the BP monitor, it can’t be recalled in the device. Finally, although it’s possible to get a report of saved readings, the report is incomplete and doesn’t include all readings. It looks like it only provides some readings from a given day. On days when I have taken three readings, the emailed report only includes a single reading. I’m truly perplexed by this and find it an odd omission in functionality.
DNicholsAZ,
Very Limited App
The blood pressure monitor itself is very easy to use and seems to be fairly accurate. My complaint is with the app. Once connected via Bluetooth you can only record blood pressure for one user. So if you’re married and want blood pressure readings for both to be stored you’re out of luck. And to make matters worse because it only records for one user, if you forget to turn off the Bluetooth while you’re taking a reading for the 2nd user you get that persons data recorded on your phone. I would expect a much better app from a company so well respected in the health field. The app alone is a reason I may consider going with another device.
Wanman0813,
Dated, another legacy manufacturer that doesn’t get it
You can tell, those manufacturers who invest in the gig economy and those that don’t. This app is dated, doesn’t even adapt to my iPhone, after 2+ years, basic functionality. Their development mindset is dated, often referred to as “waterfall development”...design a app once and leave it alone. I get regular, and what I mean by regular is once, twice or even more than three updates a month for my: garage door opener, home alarm, home automation, thermostat, social apps, etc..

The in app solicitations to “buy a device” is just another motivation to not buy another device from a company that simply doesn’t get it.
DoRonRonL,
Great device, lousy App
I’ve had this BP device for a year and a half. I purchased a Welch Allyn BP device because of their reputation. I worked in healthcare my entire career, and that’s the brand we used. The device takes very accurate and consistent measurements. The App is another story. It’s always been the weak link with a lot of rough edges, but at least it recorded my results accurately—until recently. Now I have to actually delete the App and reinstall it to get the App and Device to connect, and then only once, then it’s “gone” again. I now log my results manually. I suspect this Bluetooth connectivity issue may be related to a recent Apple IOS update. I hope Welch Allyn addresses this issue soon. They have the ability update the firmware on the device.
GimmeABreak400,
Behind the times
The upside to this app is that it works exactly as advertised. The ability to automatically share with your physician (IF they support it) is nice.

Unfortunately this app is very dated. It is not capable of being full screen on a a plus/max iPhone. It was updated recently enough that it really should. There’s also no way to delete readings. So, if you have an error, don’t have the cuff on correctly, etc, too bad. It’s getting saved.

For a somewhat pricey device from a very reputable manufacturer I would have expected more.
Highly doubtful,
Can’t delete measurements
Pros: The app is very easy to use and seamlessly integrates with Welch Allyn devices.

Cons: The app doesn’t allow you to delete measurements or set up different profiles. I took the BP of my daughter, for example, and now her data are clogging up my own BP report...

Also the data seem to automatically upload and get saved without asking for permission. - The problem with that is that anyone’s measurement within Bluetooth range will be automatically uploaded and then, as said before, can’t be deleted!!

I had planned to use this device with my patients in a small private practice where I don’t need are larger “professional” machine, but will now have to turn off the Bluetooth on my phone each time I do so... That’s a major bummer!

Suggestions for improvement:
1) Allow to set up multiple profiles.
2) Allow for user to delete measurements.
3) Ask for permission to upload/save measurements.
goodbye app 123,
Less than a week with new device
My doctor recommended Welch Allen and although I saw the poor reviews, I purchased it anyway. Well, a week in, I get the message “cannot store data - insufficient storage available”. I have 10 readings??? I also inexplicably lost some of my data earlier in the week. Just disappeared. Lastly, as a precaution, I had sent my results to my email address. Of course, when I open the attachment after the error message, it was blank. I’ll talk to my doctor about recommending crappy products when I see him again in a few months.
Mfiedler,
Read the EULA!
The apps licensing agreement specifies that you give them permission to collect, use, and distribute not only your blood pressure information but also your location and all sorts of information about the phone that the app is on without restriction. Specifically, it does not specify that they will only share it with your physician. Amazing that companies think it’s OK to harvest your very personal information and use it for their benefit rather than yours. After all, I just paid $100 for one of their blood pressure machines. It’s not like they have to monetize the app because I haven’t paid them anything.
Memi87956,
Ok
Good app for one person. However, it would be nice to be able to have more than one profile since both me and my husband need to use it. There are cheaper blood pressure monitors out there with this ability.

The only way it seems to be able to use for more than one person is to not connect via Bluetooth and just enter in your readings to the app manually.

I would give five stars if this could be fixed.
