Guest Annie,
Xmas gift
I wanted one that had WiFi so I didn’t have to keep checking my memory card to see if I got anything. Well the WiFi won’t stay connected so it hasn’t done me much good. I have to keep going down, open the camera get my card out, go back and put it in my computer, upload pictures, go back out put the card back in the trail cam, format the card or the camera won’t work, turn it on, close it up and hope I am aiming in the right spot. The old trail cams I had do the same thing. I was hoping this would skip those 10 steps and I could just look the pics up on my phone. Nope! how lazy of me to think it would be that easy! The night pics are just an outline of an animal so I changed a few settings and see if that helps. I got the back half of a fox, guess the camera just wasn’t quick enough to get the front half. Day time pics are great! I have a ton of squirrels that are curious about the camera. The two side sensor zones look all messed up like something was rubbing on them. I took my camera lens cloth and tried to clean them up it didn’t help. Maybe that’s why I only got half a fox.
EuphratesMystical,
App will not automatically download video
Even with WiFi connected (and at full strength) the app seems to only allow me to download still images and at times it won’t even allow that. At first I thought something was wrong with the camera, but come to find out the actual issue is This app. I missed some cool video because I formatted the card after getting the stills not realizing the video had been recorded. I only discovered the camera was recording video after taking the SD card out after several resets and plugging it in to my phone directly. I now have to remove the SD card if I want to get all of the data the trail cam captures. Pretty annoying.

Doesn’t Really Work
Downloaded despite the poor reviews. I managed to get it to connect and downloaded a few images from the camera. You have to go into the WiFi settings of your smartphone first and connect to the camera from there. THEN you can connect to the app. I guess you have to do this anytime you connect. Once connected, I could see the images, and separately, the videos. You can download these to the app, though it seems buggy. After that, you can download the images to your photos or a different app. However I was only able to download a single image to my photos. After that, the download icon vanished. Apparently you have to open the camera to turn its WiFi on whenever you want to connect, and that defeats the purpose. Might as well just fish the SD card out and plug it into your computer. To the developer I would say this app’s worth fixing because it has some features that would be helpful. However, as implemented, t’s just too cumbersome and buggy. Deleting the app.
JaseVT,
The camera works well. This app is terrible.
This is probably the buggiest smartphone app I’ve ever used. I can manage to make it connect and download photos and videos, but it crashes pretty frequently and has weird quirks that make it difficult to use. The most annoying is that when I’m trying to look at downloaded recorded videos (in “local”), I can only play one. When I try to play a second, it comes up with a nonsensical “the recording is too short” error message. The only way I can find to get around it is to force quit the app, then restart it — and then do that for each and every video. It’s painfully slow. Also “select all” actually only selects however many photos are currently shown in a grid, so if you actually want to download ALL, you have to select them one-by-one. Plus a whole bunch of other oddities.

It’s a pretty good camera and the WiFi yo download is handy. It’s just a shame they haven’t put a bit more effort/money into making an app that is actually easy to use.

Good Camera, But Lousy App - Doesn’t Function
My iPhone XR can connect to the Camera WiFi, but when I open the App and tap the + button, all it does is re-open my WiFi settings page; basically the App does not work.

I saw that Thai iPho posted a review last Friday citing the same behavior. Very disappointing in that I paid the extra money for the WiFi functionality that was advertised, but all I have is an ordinary game camera that I have to pull the card from to see what I’ve got. It’s a good quality camera, but the App failure obviates the extra cost. The support folks are working with me via email, and I sent them a video of what the App is doing.

I’m going to keep the camera in hope they can fix the issues with the App going forward.
HagueTech,
App crashed a lot, and now requires GPS
This app has always been a bit buggy. It crashes regularly, if you don’t wait for a thumbnail in the camera page, it won’t give you a thumbnail on the downloaded versions of the pics. When you select all to download, it only gives you all that are on the screen so you have to select all multiple times to actually download all. And with the most recent update, you are now required to allow GPS to use the app. I can think of no reason they need GPS access except they are spying on you.

App doesn’t work
The original app was not exactly user-friendly, however you could get it to work with some patience. This new version of the app is useless, and I feel as though I’ve been ripped off.
The way it’s supposed to work is that you DL photos and videos that you want to keep directly from the cam to your phone using WiFi. Then you use your phone to admire your photos and videos any time you wish while not connected to the cam.
Off-line the new app does nothing... other than crash. Nothing. It will start and then all interaction stops. Give me the old app, a new app that works, or refund my money. I can buy a cheaper trail cam if I’m forced to pull the card to get my photos.
GinnyTown,
A little tricky to set up but AMAZING camera and app!
I was a little concerned reading the reviews here but we’d already purchased this trail cam so we thought “let’s try to figure this out.” Having just moved to some average we wanted to see what animals walk through our property.

—> The trick: Once we realized that we needed to connect our mobile devices to the trail cam WiFi everything worked wonderfully! It’s been reliable, the photos and videos have been impressive. It was just figuring out that one missing link.

Each morning we check in to see what’s has walked by our new place. So far it’s been deer, rabbits, foxes, and feral cats.

Don’t be discouraged by the negative app reviews. Once you have it all set up, you’ll be glad you have it!
minitubby,
App crashes every time
This app is so buggy! It crashes all the time on me. The camera took so many nonsense photos/video and every time I try to select all and mass delete I can only select the 18 showing. I cannot do a mass delete and when I’m trying to delete multiple the app crashes every time. It’s extremely frustrating. I want to like the idea of a wifi camera where I don’t have to touch the camera and download photos onto my phone but the app will barely work. It also takes forever to connect to the camera’s WiFi. I have to try multiple times. I really hope this app gets updated.

Works OK so far.....
This app, like the camera it connects to, needs an users guide written by someone who’s primary language is English.

This first thing one has to do is sync the camera with your smart phone. Open the WiFi setting on your phone and press the WiFi button on camera. When the camera address appears on the WiFi settings page, tap to connect. Close settings and go to app and double tap on pink dot. Dot should change color to green and have a check in center.

AFTER that’s done the app will connect with the camera and you’ll be able to download and see the photos recorded on the SD card. When you disconnect WiFi from camera, you’ll be able to see pix individually and enlarge.

I have to go through settings every time to connect to the camera, it doesn’t seem to connect through the app...
