It’s a great game but…
So I’ll start off by stating the obvious. It’s basically Sky Force but a roguelike version of it. While it pales in comparison it makes up for it in other areas such as customization and other game mechanics.
Now, for glaring cons, if you want to play it for free be prepared to watch an ungodly amount of ads. To disable the adds you have to buy it for $30 and it doesn’t include anything else. The premium currency isn’t obtainable except for stage progression, leveling up, and an event you can play that gets harder. They should have a steady influx of diamonds for dailies but dailies actually give you items you get through normal gameplay. They basically force you to buy them in order to redeem the “10x draw with guaranteed fighter” which brings me to my next point. You can get keys that take the place of the 300 diamond crate but what if you save 10 keys? Nope, you can’t use them on the “10x draw with guaranteed fighter”. It’s really bad. The devs are more money grubbing than many others in this regard. They don’t give you enough diamonds to get that pack and don’t allow you to save up keys for it.
Overall I love this game. If you loved Sky Force this game will scratch that itch. Just be forewarned about the things I mentioned.

Must be financially secure to play!!!
Warning: DO NOT play this game unless you are financially secure and able to spend some real money!!!! To do most anything in this game for free, you will have to watch ads ad nauseum…. A real pain believe me!!! In the end, you really cannot advance much in this game without paying real money because ads make it tedious to play long term. I am lucky enough to have a great job and don’t really spend money on anything else (don’t eat out, house is paid off, and only spend on bills) so I have not minded spending the $30 to be ad free forever and buying occasional diamond packs, etc. If you do not spend money in this game, it will take forever to make any meaningful advances and I am sure you will get tired of the ads and move on; trust me!!!! (Perhaps try Lightning Fighter 2 which is more reasonable and you can get by without spending your rent on in-game purchases to advance and level up) All that said, the game is entertaining so I give it five stars….

You cannot just buy what you need or want. You have to spend money for a random chance to possibly maybe get what you need to upgrade and advance. And that’s the problem. Everything related to upgrading in this game is randomized. Everything. Meaning you will have to spend a ton of money and buy a bunch of things you never wanted. In this game, the primary method of leveling up is through your gear. You could maybe upgrade through playing but you can only play so many times per day because you have to use a currency to play one round and you are only allowed so much currency per day. And even then, that only gets you a random upgrade which could be some useless upgrade. Oh and their idea of an upgrade is: “increase health recovery by 1%”… umm ok bud. Anyway, upgrading your gear requires money and again you can’t even buy exactly what you want. So you’ll end up like me on level 16 of 100 something levels, where one enemy bullet is a one-hit kill. And there are times the entire screen is filled with enemy bullets. Good luck. I am uninstalling the game.

Great game, Ad︃ heavy.
Tons of fun if you enjoy this genre, it’s one of my favorites. It is heavy on the ads as far as doubling your rewards and what not, but it certainly doesn’t force ads on you like most games. It doesn’t throw game related ads at you, it doesn’t spam you with sales and deals, etc.
There is an option for no ads of any kind ever again, but I personally think $30 for an ad free mobile game is insanely steep. $10 is a lot for Ad︃ free gameplay, but reasonable if the game is worth it, but I have yet to play any mobile game that is worth anywhere near $30. Unless it is a port of a classic game like final fantasy or something.
But $30 for Ad︃ free in a game that even after that $30, you still have to pay more to get gems/planes/upgrades. It’s very overkill and I hope the devs reconsider this insane price. $30 should give you a full 20-30+ hour game, with zero ads and every plane available or at least unlock able through gameplay not related to opening chests and chance.
I wish this game would come to Apple Arcade as a non free to play version with frequent updates and added content, I would play it all the time.
So I give it 5 stars because I greatly enjoy the game, I just think the devs are reaching really hard to expect people to pay that amount for ad free.

While I like the game it seems when the creators want to make more money they put out an update that changes the gameplay difficulty. I know that recommended level of experience for a particular level in the game doesn’t mean that you will sail through the level just means that you are more likely to get further in gameplay if you had the minimum. From there you can accumulate more experience to help get through a level. But when suddenly after an update that level you have been working to pass has increased in difficulty it makes you question the integrity of the creators. For example I go into a Boss battle with 100% life and get hit with one stray bullet I was not quick enough to dodge and that zaps 100% of my life doesn’t seem like a fair fight. But I can purchase diamonds and other options to increase experience and jet options. About to delete the game and highly recommend you don’t waste your time or money.

Endless mission replay possibilities is just amazing
This is if not the best game since 2014. Although it’s not compatible with iPads: fusion features are missing, data sync issues with other iOS devices. Should be able to select different profile pictures. If developers will implement voice overs like Sky force, I’m sure this game will win editors award for the year and beyond. This shooter boasts replay value for the money. Prices are reasonable, very generous gifts, your investment in the game will not disappoint compared to others. Stay away from pay to play pvp where there are no returns in investment just more losses that you may find losing thousands for entertainment just because you feel the need to win. You actually won by not losing thousands to others. Play responsibly.

Super Difficult for Me
It’s a great game, but man-o-man, is it ever difficult! Example: it took me three days to beat the third mission. This is most likely because I am an older Senior and my response time is much slower than younger people. I hope Stage 4 gives me a bit of a break but who knows.
The biggest problem is, players have to start from the beginning each time the “enemy” gets the best of you. I wish I didn’t have to start each mission from scratch—especially since each stage requires beating 50 or so levels. It would be much better if you get beat at, say level 29 (of 50) and only had to drop back to say, level 25.
I hope the Game Support Group is keeping track of Reviews and is reading this.

Overall Ok at best
Like others have stated, it’s a sky force style game. The graphics are good and the customizable craft and weapon combinations are worth mentioning. The game play is smooth and time consuming but it becomes very monotonous quickly.
After the first couple of stages, it becomes blatantly obvious that this is a cash grab game. It takes forever to level up your equipment and ships enough to have a chance of completing the following stage. If you are a player that doesn’t mind “grinding” through a game, this one is not for you. Running the stages that you ultimately get killed on yields very little reward. You get more equipment drops from being idle. Once you do manage to get enough items to upgrade, the next stage of equipment is almost not worth the trouble for how long you have to wait to get enough materials.
The titan challenges are extremely boring and predictable and use a ton of energy that can only be replenished through the use of diamonds, which are not very common for non paying players, or through the watching of ads. Which is the next down side.
If you want anything outside of the idle drops, you must watch an excessive number of crummy ads in order to milk a little more of a chance of getting gear out of the game. Overall it’s not bad if you aren’t paying for it but the aforementioned issues can become an annoyance quickly.

Fun Game
Game is REALLY fun and the graphics are great… only thing keeping it from a 5 star game is the length of each level and the amount of time it takes to level up to beat a level. Especially starting out and level 3 takes 3 days just to acquire enough HP to be at the “Recommended” to beat it. That shouldn’t be like that when you are “FIRST” starting. Also, the “Length” of each level… 50 waves? People who play these types of games are on their lunch break or break at work and don’t have 20-30 minutes to play 50 waves only to be killed and have to start over… a couple waves with them being hard would be better. Especially for people starting out that don’t have access to fighters, gems, etc. other than that the games is super fun. Definitely would recommend it to people who like FP Shooter games.

Fantastic game!
As the title says, fantastic game with awesome visuals! I will also mention the screen shake when explosions occur.... I really like that... gives me a sense of... "pride and accomplishment." I also enjoy the weekly tournament to gain points toward purchasing the conqueror, that's cool, however I feel like that kind of thing should be a norm for online games these days.
Now for suggestions:
1. Allow for left handed usage. A lot of top down games have this, I'm surprised this doesn't. Just add a small switch in settings to move the super/auxiliary buttons from one side of the screen to the other to facilitate us lefties.
2. More weapons. Please. I love the current selection but it's quickly becoming glaringly evident that one main weapon works while another does not. Perhaps slots in main weapons for upgrades or something like that?
3. I feel like you guys recently upped the difficulty quite a bit and I also feel like you did that secretly to push people toward in-app purchases. I get it, you're committed to the grind. Just remember we notice things like that. I like the difficulty a lot but like I said previously, it makes the lack of weapon equality even more evident.
In any case, love the game and please keep up with the updates guys!
