We fixed a bug causing saved Write Abouts to have the prompt text change with the levels selected on other prompts. Your previously saved Write Abouts will be defaulted to Level 2. If this does not match your writing and wish to update and re-save, you can copy and paste the text onto a new Write About with the matching photo/prompt. We apologize for any inconvenience. All Write Abouts will now be correctly saved and stored.

Great app except....
This is a great writing app. It provides pictures and prompts. The only issue I have had with the app is you can not save unfinished work. When you exit the app and save your writing you can not edit your writings later.

Doesn’t work
Just downloaded the app and the “back” button doesn’t work once you’re in an image to write. The voice recording also doesn’t seem to save anywhere. Very buggy.

Creativity+CommonCore=Awesome
I've been showing this app to teachers throughout our district because it really is the perfect way to get kids writing. They love the images that go with the prompts…something about that added visual is so powerful. Lower elementary teachers are appreciative of the audio prompts and everyones mind starts racing with ideas when they see the ability to create your own prompts with images from the iPad. We use shared iPads and this allows for more than one student to write, store and share their written responses on the device. Many teachers are having the students email the final drafts to them.
I mean cmon, more than 300 prompts for 3 bucks.. plus the open ended nature of the tool.. awesome! So easy to align with the CCSS, especially for narrative. Some persuasive opportunities as well. In the future I'd love to see a gallery where students can share their writing with a wider audience. But overall this is just quality stuff that is often lacking on the expanse that is the EDU app store.

The app engages young writers by combining high quality, thought provoking imagery with intriguing writing prompts that can easily be adjusted to different levels of Bloom's taxonomy. The app is very intuitive, includes a writer's notepad area, and voice narration of the writing prompts to assist emerging and struggling readers. The app also allows students or teacher to design their own writing prompts using images saved to the cameral roll or taken with the camera. This app supports differentiation strategies and meets multiple learning needs and strengths, making it an excellent resource for any classroom.

Fantastic App
As an elementary school librarian, I work with all students in K-5, and co-teach with classroom teachers. We have found that this app, along with Tell About This have been very beneficial for our students in determining whether or not they can follow a prompt. It works with all grade levels due to the audio feature available for younger students. We create custom prompts that support our State learning targets. These can include all subject areas. They are great to add to student e-portfolios and quickly & easily share with parents so they can see what their children are accomplishing.

Exactly what my kids needed to get engaged with writing!
This app has changed the way my classroom views creative writing! Say goodbye to writers block...now I have to tell them to stop writing! The app is very easy to use and the ability to take a photo to create your own prompt is great. My favorite feature is the ability for students to save their work and share by email. There is nothing better then hearing praises from proud parents when they receive an email from their child with a copy of their creative writing! This is a must have app!

WOW! Creative, Fun, and Educational!
I love this app as both an educator and a parent! As the Elementary Technology Specialist for a school district, I love that the app allows you to switch to different prompt levels. This allows for differentiation and it also encourages a variety of writing genres. My own children enjoyed the recording feature and loved to record their story and listen to it again and again. Plus, the beautiful pictures inspired creative writing ideas.

I just wrote a story with my daughter, we had tons of fun, you can add audio and publish your work for others to see. I recommend it for writers.
