How to use Xeoma Video Surveillance app:

Version 21.10.13 allows you a smooth connection to Xeoma's new version in the server part that features a new module "Thermal Camera Data" that is able to receive information from HikVision thermal cameras and trigger if there is a temperature detected that matches the set value.

I was looking for a replacement for a Windows-based system. This app is "meh"...I paid for two cameras and that's basically what I got. The archives is a joke! If you TRULY want a security system, then avoid this software. Videos are stored in a proprietary format, which would be OK is the Export feature worked...but it doesn't. The scrub bar does NOTHING the same way twice...repeat the same action and it may jump ahead, it may play double speed, it may jump you back into yesterday's archives. It appears you HAVE to modify the web page manually, if you want to see more than one camera via HTTP web server. I don't know or care anymore, because I don't have the time or patience to hack with something that should be an clean OOB experience.
One good thing is that it runs fairly smoothly, compated to the Windows system. All in all, I wish I hadn't purchased this software...

Barely usable crap. Use droid app instead.
If you open any camera full screen it will always go back to the list of all cameras after a minute max. List of all cameras flickers whole screen with WHITE flash illuminating dark room bright every minute or two. This is a joke app. I tried 3 different iPads.

it could be worse, aim at the floor to succeed.
Doesn’t support playback from motion triggered events when using continuous recording with motion. The desktop app supports that feature. For playback this app is garbage overall.

This iOS app is a piece of ***. You can watch live and that’s it. Usability to playback records is absolutely impossible.

Pretty minimal
They must have put all of 5 minutes into this app. It shows your default camera layout, and that's it. you can't make one cam full screen. you can't look at archive data at all. you can't do anything but look at your cameras. which can be pretty small if you have more than 2 !

Other review is wrong. You can go full screen and view recorded video.
While I agree that this app is seriously half baked and needs a complete overhaul, the first review is wrong. By tapping on a camera you can go fullscreen with it, and by using the blue archive button you can get to the recorded footage. That's not to say it works well, because it doesn't. It's very finicky and inconsistent. Xeoma, please please please overhaul this app!! I'll pay good money for a version that works well and has more features.

Works flawless but...
This app works flawless with my xeoma Linux based server. However the iOS version of the app is missing many features, well mainly all the features except for viewing live video stream (really low quality on top of that) and viewing the archive. (Which appears to be a little better quality than the live view)
All in all, they have this same app on Android as well and the android version is far superior and has many many more features.
Overall, you can’t use this app unless you have an xeoma server, and if you have an xeoma server; you might as well get this to app go with it. Really hope they upgrade this soon though

This means you won’t be tied to one particular manufacturer of cameras to see all your cameras in one spot , pay ongoing subscription fees, and most importantly, be able to access your cameras and the video from your LAN without having to access the external Internet.
A standout feature of the server software is that it can set up cameras automatically without you having to know the model number and the streaming details. It’s magic! You can set up cameras on this that you can’t set up using other IP camera apps. This feature alone makes me give it five stars.

Why is this app so slow and featureless
I use xeoma on my windows pc and it’s great. The android app is exactly the same as the windows version. But this IOS version is awful. Playback is very slow and you can’t adjust it like you can in android and windows or Linux. Positioning the time within the archive is also awful compared to the other versions.
