GiuliaNYC,
Beats any other jumprope app by far
I tried a few other highly rated rep counter apps and jump rope apps and they were extremely inaccurate, or just didn’t provide much of the information I wanted. I held back initially on getting this YaoYao app simply because it wasn’t free, but finally took a risk and got it. Immediately I noticed when I started my jump rope workout that the counts were very close to the actual jumps, and I LOVED how I could get loud verbal announcements for every 50 jumps or heart rate - with many options I could set. Finally, I could jump without thinking about counting, or using some method of keeping track physically. Then I was thrilled after a few more jumprope workouts to discover so many other useful, thoughtful and professional features, this is on the level of the type of features the Apple Activity App in quality and range of measured, counted and integrated metrics. The graphs and the badges you can earn, it all adds so much more to the jump rope workout, I love it!!
Hlsjolly,
Great App!!
I’ve been speed roping for 2 years now and have always used a different HIIT app on my watch to do my intervals. I’ve always wanted to know the number of jumps but never thought to look for an app that counted them! I was skeptical at first based on others reviews of counting too many or not enough but wanted to try it since it was so inexpensive. I used it yesterday and counted as I jumped and it was only off by 2... and that was me trying my hardest to count my jumps since I speed Rope I had a hard time counting as fast as I jumped. I feel it’s extremely accurate... it’s basically like a pedometer... they are never exact, but give you a great estimate and that’s all I’m looking for. I love that it gives you the count every 100 jumps and heart rate, I was able to push myself harder and in one interval session went from a little over 700 jumps to almost 900. Overall I love it and definitely recommend it!!!!
Gadget Girl2,
Game changer!
I adore this app. Barriers on my jump rope journey were counting jumps and time jumped excluding rests. This app removed those and delivered so much more! I’ve been quite the evangelist for the app and have engaged my IG community as inquiries come to me about the app I use for tracking.

One addition I’d love to see is tracking of the interval times. Perhaps an axis on the right of the bar graph that charts jump count intervals? For now, I estimate based on my average jump count per min how long I’ve jumped between rests.

Anyway, all of this to say, bravo! This app has changed the game and my workout life (which was non-existent before...ha!)!
dmbream,
Cool in concept
Cool concept, but having issues with the app recording data. In short, it doesn’t. Ha. It will record and display results during a workout, but the data does not get saved for future reference, as per the screen shots above. Jump count, calories, workouts, etc. Nothing is saving in the app. It does, however, sync generic Yao Yao “workout” instances and times with the iOS Activity app. So I’ve just been using it for that purpose to be able to identify separate jump rope workouts and times in the Activity app. Unfortunately, I’m not able to enjoy the native tracking, medals, gamification, etc. within the native app. Oh well. On an iPhone X, Apple Watch Series 1, iOS 11.2.2, and app version 1.5.6. I’ve enabled all data sharing permissions within the Health app. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app. No luck.
emiliejoue,
Just what I needed
Loving the app so far after a month. Using my Apple Watch to count jumps and seems as accurate counting as I would be myself (just 1 or 2 difference here and there). Really like the history view by day to get totals, not sure what leveling up does but it’s cute and motivating, custom daily goal is nice. Overall has a lot more than I expected - I really just needed an accurate jump counter. Plus the silly reindeer mascot is fun, and you can share workout summary graphics in messages or social media.
Gjisenhart,
Nope
I wanted to see if the counter worked. It doesn’t. I like to speed jump, and when I get 4 rotations in a second which isnt even the fastest it only counts 1. Maybe if you’re jumping slow enough it will be good. I can see it being good for just a nice slow jump or possibly a workout but don’t count on it counting properly.

On the other side I do like that it has the HIIT timer on it now, but that is honestly the only good thing about the app for me. This is not saying it works for other people. Just does not work for me. I record to check for form and to count, and like I said it isn’t even close. Also like I said completely different type of jumping probably than what it’s meant for.
Chichiflys,
Poor execution
Japanese writing? Yeah I know English isn't the international language. Also it doesn't count accurately. It missed many of my jumps so it's worthless. However it is nice that the watch can be used as a stand alone device. That is the phone doesn't have to be in your pocket. Just need to fix the jump counter. Maybe it's not sensitive enough?

Update Aug 2017. Doesn't work very good at all. Just did a practice jump and it only counted 1 jump out of over 100. Nice try.

Update 2019 with iWatch5. Still not very good. Hardly records any jumps. It might get about 5-10% of my jumps unless I really over exaggerate my wrist motion which is not natural, and then it’s still not very accurate. Still not impressed. I even set the sensitivity to max. Made no difference.
nauf4l,
Just amazing
I was planning to buy a 100$ jump rope which counts skips as i always do 5k skips a day. So after a month was considering this when i came across this app after installing 5 apps of the same.
Glad i paid about 2$ for this as it is totally worth it.
When using, i counted manually for 2 days to compare this and it is 100% accurate.
Shows number of calories burned, daily workouts, other participants over the world, heart beat etc.
All in all 100% for this. Love it
3xTheTrouble,
Why did it take so long to make this?
This app is exactly what I wanted for a jump rope app. It’s not complex, but it doesn’t need to be. It uses the accelerometer in the Apple watch to count your jumps. It also has timer mode and freestyle. I’m not an app designer, because I don’t know enough about programming; however, I’m a little surprised someone didn’t come up with this sooner. I think it costs something, but if you incorporate a rope into your workouts very often, it’s with it.
R_daddyspell'em,
If you love to jump ❤️ look no more
Recently downloaded this app and used it for the first time, I synced it with my series 3 Cellular Apple Watch... No disappointments at all, totally worth the money!!! It really keeps track of the work out this is the first time I can actually track my jump rope routine. If you’re in doubt, download this you won’t be disappointed. Lastly they list the numbers you really want to see like longest streak, heart rate, total jumps and how long you jumped for 😍😍 I love this app!
