pretty bad app
this app is incredibly buggy. it worked almost perfectly for a year or so after i got it, but recently it’s constantly been having issues with not remembering that i’m logged in, not showing classes, not loading, giving weird error messages. it’s great the Y offers this to reserve classes but it feels like whoever designed this stopped updating it and now it’s always having problems. pretty big bummer when you can’t reserve high demand classes and then miss out.

Impossible to book courts
To book a squash/racquetball court, you have to just pick a time and see if it is available. Because most of them are not, you have to do that over and over again — it’s like trying to catch a fish! A future update should list available times so you can choose one…

Constant issues and help desk reflex is to find fault with user
Every other week there's something and the Y will say it looks fine on their end and try to find fault with the user. I have screenshots of it saying I do not have an active account despite their insistence that I show up as active. Um, it's your app? If you can't fix it you should at least find someone who can instead of gaslighting your patrons. It's about to be a year of this and majority of the staff are disappointing, especially for the Y. The supreme lack of inclusivity and basic human decency is atrocious. Incredibly rude.

Won’t make reservation
I’ve tried four times to make a reservation for today, and I keep getting a message saying I’m trying to reserve a spot for three days ago. I’ve entered the correct date each time. I’ve deleted the app and am trying to add it again.
Update: this happened again. I tried to make a reservation and it kicked it back saying that the date (today’s date, and yes, I double checked) had already passed. The only way to get around it seems to be to delete the app and reinstall it. Fix this, YMCA of Los Angeles!

Worst app
It’s disappointing how expensive the membership is and you cannot even use it due to the app.
It’s been a year since I’ve been trying to make a reservation and unfortunately they have not fix this. I wish I can get my money back for all the money and time wasted.

App doesn’t work
The app says there are multiple reservations available but doesn’t recognize my email to log in. Then when I call to make reservation because I can’t do it through the app there aren’t any. I do not think the 5 reservation disappeared in the 1 minute it took me to call. My ymca membership is useless because I can’t use the app to reserve.

Can’t see family members
I bought a family membership but I can only see me in the app and not my dependent daughter. I called my center and they said it should show up and give me the option to reserve things for her too but it doesn’t. They tried to “push” our accesses again and it still hasn’t worked.

App refuses to send me the pin
As other reviewers have noted, this app is awful. I can’t get into my new account at all because it keeps claiming to have sent me a pin via email, but it has not. This means I cannot access the Y even though I am paying for a membership. Devs need to fix basic functionality like this.

Apps are not inclusive
YMCA is supposed to be for all people in the community. Yet any access to the gym or a class requires ownership of a smartphone and downloading an app. Not everyone can do this.
It would be ideal to offer an option to book via website and allowing those who can’t afford smartphones of their own a small, scannable keycard like the LAPL does.
