YN360 Hack 1.1 + Redeem Codes

The light controls work perfectly, except for one huge glaring problem, you can only connect to one light at a time—at least that how it seems in my testing.

The app design makes it appear that you can connect to multiple lights but that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe this is simply something that can be updated in the app. Still completely happy with the light, but the app could be much better and more functional

The screen shots and early marketing materials implied that up to 8 of these lights may be controlled by the app. I purchased four lights with the hopes of solving a tricky mounting problem. Manually adjusting the lights in my setup now requires a step ladder and a lot of patience, rather than conveninently being able to control the lights from my phone as I had envisioned.

The app also connects to the first light it wants -- so even if you use it to control just one light in your setup, it may not be the light you expect or the same light every time.

Yongnuo's response to my support enquiry was to tell me to buy a separate remote control. (Which they do not sell and which does not exist.)

Basically this app is unfinished - the developer likely only had access to a single light, and had prototyped for the ability to control more, but never released a final version. The app icon doesn't even show the correct product.

My advice: If you need remote control capabilities, do not buy these lights. Buy a light with a working up or a real multichannel remote.

In case I sound bitter (I am, regarding this experience), I should say that I've owned other Yongnuo products before (YN600) and have been very pleased with them. I'm surprised they got so much, so wrong with this app.

The app only works with one light at a time. The entire point of these was to have remote capabilities with more then one light. Yet you've chosen to let this one fall to the wayside for some reason. Please fix this issue yongnuo there is literally no point in buying anymore then one of these lights and the point is to have many....you’re absolutely ruining your own market because u would buy more of them if there wasn’t this problem. Luckily I only purchased 2. But it’s such a hassle to get them to be the right color when I want them to be....

So far this app for works very well despite the lack of instructions. It would also be nice if the picture on the app was of the proper LED light as it does not show the 360. Connects to my LED wand as soon as I turn Bluetooth on my phone and I was easily able to change light color levels with only a second of delay.

Seems like it would be an easy update but as of now the controls are kind of a shot in the dark. I have four of the 360ii’s and i never know which light i may be controlling at any point. If you need accurate colors on multiple lights its best to set it manually. Makes the app kind if pointless. Time to update Yongnuo.

App provides some basic functions but is not functional as advertised: Allows you to only connect one YN360 light (not 8 as shown), some buttons are simply images and not clickable/usable (problem with other Yongnuo apps also), RGB color do not allow for brightness adjustment (developer says it does), other light adjustments are very slow due to the design of the app, requiring many clicks to make adjustments.

Found in the manual you just have to hold the “Bat” button for a few seconds. It will show “H1” then press the “Bat” button again to change the channel. So simple, I hope others see this!

It’s nice being able to change the color with this app, I just wish the hues for the color options could be adjusted manually as well because certain colors will have a little bit of light in it and can’t get a rich blue color for example. Wishing for an update!

The latest update with the slider controls is a nice improvement. However, I’m not sure what ‘channels’ are for - we still can’t control more than one light at a time. Also it would be cool if you could add some automated controls for things like flickering.

Unfortunately and very frustratingly so, this app still does not connect to more than one light at a time. Would be a very very simple and easy fix for them to add programming that supports this but apparently they have refused to over the past 2 years. Would not recommend purchasing until this is possible if you plan to use more than one.
