Great Idea Interesting Attempt Not Ready for Prime Time
They work with the major subscription streamers, but are missing quite a few — britbox, ESPN+, frndly, fubo, MGM+, philo, Shudder, and Sling. They’re also missing YouTubeTV, but that’s kinda-sorta acceptable — they’re really not an on-demand service.
Where they really fall down and go boom is on the FAST streamers (free streamers). They don’t include any of them. Most of the FAST services include on-demand selection of movies and shows and a lot of people use them. My family subscribes to most of the subscription services, but we still watch a lot of FAST services.
FAST services include: Crackle, Documentary+, Freevee, History, Local Now, Plex, PlutoTV, Popcorn Flix, Red Bull TV, Redbox, Roku Channel, Shout Factory TV, Sling Free-Stream, Stirr, Tubi, Xumo, and YouTube.
When Younify fills in the gaps, they’ll have something to talk about. Until then, the app isn’t really that useful.
One last point — Younify is only available on Apple and Android mobile devices. They need a web interface to become truly useful.
