We rewrote the whole app, adding in more of the great features from our Flash Card Editor app at the same time.
You can now view "Just the Card", only the card, full screen, by rotating to landscape.
You can also do multi-choice drills.

Fixed a problem with text sizing on some cards.

In the previous version, to drill the "All" decks you had to purchase both the 2nd and 3rd year decks first.
We changed this so the "All" deck includes the free decks plus any which you have purchased.

2014-07-08
We made the 2nd Year and 3rd Year Decks only available via an In-App Purchase.

We improved the look and feel a little. Especially on the iPad.

We fixed a bug which was stopping users from editing which cards were included when they selected one of the "All" decks.

We added a Deck button during the drill so you can easily add more cards to your deck.
We fixed a bug where the buttons on the Drill view didn't respond if you pressed and held. (Only tapping them very quickly was working).

We added an in-app purchase option to just drill the last 10 cards of your deck so you can learn those before adding them into the rest of your deck.
The same in-app purchase enables the "Just the Card" feature. If you rotate your device to landscape during a drill the card will resize to fill the screen. So it feels much more like you're doing a drill with a deck of flashcards in your hand.

Some small changes for iOS7.

We also made peeking at the other side of the card easier. Now the app stops peeking when you let go with your finger instead of always waiting 2 seconds.

We added a Home view for easier navigation and to improve consistency with our other products.

We also clear the cards when you get to the end of a drill. It was a bit confusing before when the last card just "stuck".

We made this a "universal" app, so now it runs full screen on iPads.

It also runs full screen on the iPhone 5.

We added links to our "Other Products" website.

lalevin,
Nice to have
This is easy to use and just like having paper flashcards at your fingertips. Nice to have when there's down time. And it's free!! Only thing better would be if the audio of the Japanese words playing when learning the English.
TheOneKenny,
Great app
I love the way this app works, it's easy to use and great for learning some of the lower jplt kanji. It's simple and effective, easier to use than srs programs where you may be required to build your own decks. I think it's great that you can turn on/off certain cards without deleting them. I just wish it had more content in it, not that I'm not satisfied!

Overall a 4.5 star app IMO, ありがとうございます。頑張ってね。
Piggyxyz,
keeps crashing!
Super slow and frozen!
Snotori,
Amazing App
Been working with the Japanese language and haven't found a great easy to use fun app but this one is everything I've been looking for. Learned several hundred kanji in quite a short amount of time. Haven't learned the readings or key words but they are waiting for me in this great app when I'm ready :)

My only wish is that there was more. I'd even pay for them to have more packs to learn from like the first 440.

Easy Fun Effective
Definitely not for people who have no experience with Japanese but if you are taking Japanese classes or are already learning on your own this app is amazing for practice on the go. I've used it for hours and I have no doubt I know double the amount of Kanji I knew before downloading this app. I recommend it to anyone with knowledge of the language who wants to improve their vocabulary and character count.
Kuro459,
Extremely Useful
I am in the process of learning Japanese and this app has helped me drill myself on the go. The only thing I would say that would make it better for me is to include all Japanese pronunciation for some of the cards (it seems like some already have it) as kanji can have more than one meaning. This app is great! Keep up the good work~
Critic4BetterRadio,
Pretty good app
Nice, simple to use flash card app with large kanji characters (on my iPad mini). I do wish this app included an option to view kana with the kanji, but there is no kana, just kanji and English; hopefully the developer will add this feature. Anyhow, my rating is a really about a 3.5 - I enjoy using the app. If in the future it were to include kana then I would revise the rating to four plus stars.
I do, so you don't,
Purchase items
At first I wasn't too impressed but as I continued my use, I think that interface is really smooth. The only thing that bugs me is that there isn't a 'purchase all' option. Perhaps change the "buy us coffee" to "please donate".
hPad1,
Very useful.
I had tried to make my own kanji flash cards - then I found this. It does the trich. I would like, however, to have not only English but also Romaji and/or hiragana on the one side. It is not enough to know what the word is in English.
AJhada,
Could be improved
I downloaded this app hoping it would help me learn/remember/understand kanji a bit better. The problem with kanji is that reading them alone with English translations alone does not do this. For example 日 (nichi) means day but you can also use it for 日本 (Nippon) which means Japan or 日曜 (nichiyoubi) weekday. So it would be more helpful if they can include on-yomi and kun-yomi readings of kanji rather than just English definitions.
