It's so frustrating when you think you remember a verse, but you have one or two words which are not quite right, and so you just can't find it.
Perhaps you learned it in a different version. Perhaps you only vaguely remember it at all.
Either way, if you don't know the right words to look for then you won't be able to find the verse.
But Not Just Words is smarter than your average Bible Search app.
As well as being able to search for combinations of words it also automatically searches for other forms and synonyms of your search words.
So when you search for “pray”, it also looks for “prays”, “praying”, “prayer”, “prayers”, “prayed”...
And then it uses a thesaurus to broaden the search even further. So search for “speak” and it also find verses with “talk”, “uttered”, etc...
All that in a fraction of a second.
You can also search for references like “rom 1:4” or “Gen 1:1;Ex 12:1”, or you can combine these with other searches to restrict them.
For example you can search for “pray in Romans” to find the references to prayer in the book of Romans. Or “forgive in NT” to find the new testament references to forgiveness.
You can also search for phrases like “holy spirit”. And those searches will also use the thesaurus for each word in the phrase.

We added the "=" option for searching just for the specific word and not any of its derivatives or matching words from the thesaurus.
So searching for "kingdom" will find kingdom, king, ruler, etc... but searching for "=kingdom" will only match kingdom and Kingdom.
You can use this when search for phrases too, so you can now search for "=kingdom of =god" to find only that exact phrase.

We added the ability to search for phrases. When you do it will still use the thesaurus, so searching for "eat bread" will also find verses with "ate bread", "eaten bread", etc... You can also combine searches for two phrases with "and", "or" and "not". And you can restrict the search to certain books or collections.
We added the ability to search for two words or phrases near each other using the new keyword "near". So searching for "Adam near Eve" will find all the verses with Adam which are within two verses of a verse with Eve.
And we increased the number of words in the thesaurus to make finding verses even easier.

I like it overall.....
This is a great app. Although, they can make a few adjustments like changing the audio voice which sounds like a robot. However, I would still recommend this app because it is free, easy to search, and it helps you with your Bible vocabulary.

I was the 1st person to rate this app in July 2013. I used it constantly because it still offered the 1984 NIV. But when I installed the latest OS for my iPhone today July 7, 2014, I am sad to see that version is no longer there. There are plenty of other apps that offered other versions but this was the last one I know of that offered the NIV 1984. Guess I might as well delete this version now.
Love this app. Please don't ever update or if you do don't take out the NIV 1984 version! This is the only app and only website I can find that still has that version. I don't know why they did this but when they updated to the 2011 edition they took out the 1984 one. I've never known a publisher who has taken a previous version away when they publish a new version. I memorize scripture and when the version is changed it makes it very difficult and confusing. Thanks for keeping the 1984 NIV!

Frustrating
Trying to find a Bible thesaurus. Not user friendly for me to be able to just search a word (logical) and have the thesaurus give me choices. Instead I search a word and the screen goes blank. Feel free to give any instructions as to what I’m doing wrong. It shouldn’t be that difficult.

Has become one of my favorite Bible Apps!
The first time I loaded this App it didn't work. It now works; and I have found that is a very useful study App. If you tried it once and didn't like it; try it again, I think you might reconsider its usefulness. Be sure and push the ? mark in the lower RH corner; it explains how to use this App to its full potential.

This is a very good app with some real handy features. I especially like that it includes the NASB. The only fault I can find is that if a search turns up too many results it seems to overload the app. And if there was a way to edit the search history it would help minimize the problem. Otherwise a very handy app.

Easy to maneuver
I really like how easy it is to find scripture in the language version I want quickly. Other Bible apps either offer limited versions or are difficult. I would recommend the app to anyone who doesn't like to be steered toward a certain way but likes to explore their own way.

Best Bible Search App
Not only is it a concordance but also looks up phrases and passages that have similar words. This is great if you study the scriptures from the 1rst century Hebraic mindset :) You can also choose from various translations. I've been telling everyone I know to download it. Simply amazing :)

I am not familiar with this app yet but I think it may be just what I need. I remember words, not references and NotJust Words is what I've been looking for. Take a fragment, find the verse. Perfect for me. Thank you!

Finally a good searching bible app
It looks like all the other apps are missing it! This one got the searching well down. The only thing is if it has more translation to search from (no ESV). And if it had russian translation. Otherwise good
