Huntman24,
Great but have recommendation
I am really enjoying the functionality of the extension. I use this as a medical student to more quickly navigate through lectures.

One additional feature that would make this perfect for me would be menu commands to make universal keyboard shortcuts. An example this could be used is during recorded lectures and taking notes. If i miss a particular portion of the lecture audio and I need to skip backwards to get it, without exiting the note taking application, I would be able to do that. I cant tell you how much I am going in and out of applications when I just want to have a global shortcut for pause/play, skip forward and skip backward. Maybe Accelerate can do this and I just missed it. Great applicaiton none the less!
userjlv,
Its good for being one of the only fast forwards for safari
Im still a little confused sometimes on how to use it but the creator sent me to an faq page that helped me out. Im getting used to it, but it could still be a little clearer with instrcutions. though, it does what its supposed to do so it should get 5 stars. I also still dont like that it wans you that it could be steaking passwords, but the creator also explained that, and i guess ill just have to trust him if i want to watch netflix faster lol

Perfect for Speeding Through Videos/Audio
When I listen to podcasts, I always utilize the 1.5x-2x speed and wanted to figure out how to do that on my Macbook. I came across this app and it works perfectly!! I don't even have to open the app in order to accelerate a video because I have it as an extension in Safari. I simply press "D" to speed up the video and "S" to slow it down (this shortcut can also be edited). If you are like me and enjoy consuming content rapidly, this is the app for you!

Everything I wanted it to be
Simple app, took me a second to realize that the primary way of interacting with the speed was through keyboard shortcuts, but once I got going it was a pain free way to make better use of my time.

I only hope extensions like this aren't necessary in the future, because playback control will be a standard feature for every video player everywhere. In the meantime, I'm going to give the developer some money for providing this.

Couldn’t get it to work
Hate to leave a negative review. But I could not get this to work at all and feel like some explanation for a 1 star is needed. Maybe it is my older Macbok running High Sierra’s fault. Had high hopes and really, really wanted it to work, I am consuming some MIT OpenCourseware videos and a 1.5x or 1.75 speed would be most welcome. The documentation is awfully sparse. Once installed the extension kept videos from starting to play at all (default speed of zero didn’t help, but changed to 1 still didn’t function). Then on top of that, dragging it to the trash from the application folder didn’t work and I had to use an uninstaller program. Maybe v3.0 will do the trick.

Almost perfect
This extension is super great! I just have 2 small suggestions that I think would make it much better. One, I wish the video didn't pause for a split-second as you're changing the speeds and two, I wish there was a small, slightly transparent notification that you could put in the corner so you could see what speed the video is playing at without actually having to change the speed to see.
Wandermust,
Works as promised on iOS
Updated: initially couldn’t get this to work for Safari on iPhone. It’s the first iOS Safari extension I’ve ever installed, after living with iOS for a decade. Then I realised I needed to click the puzzle piece icon in the url bar and select Accelerate, in order to use it on a specific video. And it works exactly as advertised. So grateful for this.
twood3,
I can now watch Netflix at 1.5x at HD quality!
I use this with safari to watch Netflix at 1.5x speed or so. Previously, I used Chrome and another extention, but Chrome did not show Netflix in full quality. This extension allows me to watch Netflix in HD quality with no issues.

Thank you for developing this extension. My only question is can you make this for the iPad?
Adam Yurkanin,
Super useful
I'm currently doing online college and one of my classes has long, slow lectures on a player that doesn't allow me to change playback speed. This extension was a god send for letting me adjust video speed, and the usability/customizabilty of its functions is a huge plus. I'll be reccomending this to people I know

Good but ONE major problem :(
I love almost everything about this... the only problem is that video audio goes silent for a brief second whenever I press a keyboard shortcut to change the speed. I find myself tweaking the speed of videos rather often, so this ends up really hurting my viewing experience, and it wasn't an issue w/ the similar extension I used for chrome... Really hoping the devs can fix this :(
