We've revamped AnxietyHelper to become something new - Aetheria.
AnxietyHelper turned 5 years old this year, and during that time, we've been reflecting on what is next for the app, and how the conversation around mental health has changed in general. We've revamped AnxietyHelper to become something entirely new - Aetheria. AnxietyHelper turned 5 years old this year, and during that time, we've been reflecting on what is next for the app, and how the conversation around mental health has changed in general.
When AnxietyHelper was made, the conversation around mental health was nowhere as consistent or big as the conversation is today. And with that, AnxietyHelper did the thing it was built to accomplish: to continue the conversation around mental health and provide resources. AnxietyHelper had played its role in changing the conversation, and is a reminder of the work we had to do instead of looking to the future of what we could accomplish.
But now more than ever, mentally ill people (who struggle with mental health the most) face inaccessible treatment, costs, and massive stigma. While mental health issues have become widely understood, those with more severe mental illness have not. So, we're taking the spirit of AnxietyHelper and focusing on what we think is one of the greatest issues we face today - lack of accessible treatment and help for those with mental illnesses.
From AnxietyHelper's history, we've built Aetheria - AnxietyHelper's successor. Where AnxietyHelper had less than 8 tools, Aetheria has 30. Where AnxietyHelper served 2-3 mental illnesses, Aetheria serves 18. Although we're going to miss AnxietyHelper, it's time for Aetheria to take flight and to continue providing free help to those who need it, with no strings attached.
