Description

We’re Aetheria, a free mental illness management app designed to help you from feeling spaced out to back on Earth. If you’re the astronaut, we’re Mission Control.

Mental illness is real. It can leave you feeling untethered, free-falling in the dark expanse of space. It’s not something that we “fix” or “get over.” It’s part of our everyday lives, but it doesn’t have to be the only part.

Enter Aetheria, an app designed to empower people of all ages to cope with mental illnesses through everything, from a crisis to everyday ups and downs.

Full of easy-to-access tools that are research-driven, therapy-based, and forever-free, Aetheria acts as mission control that provides 30 tools to help people with over 20 different mental illnesses. When you’re feeling lost and you need a guide, we’re here to help you navigate your way back down to Earth.

When you sign up, you’ll select your diagnosis(es), name, and pronouns. None of the data you share with us will leave the app or be seen by a 3rd party.

After that, you’ll do a check in every day about your symptoms, and a health assessment every 2 weeks to get a picture of your physical and mental health. As we get to know each other, we’ll share statistics with you about your mental illness, overall health, and tool usage.

All tools and features of Aetheria are free - forever. You never have to worry about losing access. Aetheria is run by Astra Labs, a 501(c)3 non-profit. We’ll never sell or share your data, show you ads, or paywall you.

Aetheria currently supports the following mental illnesses / disorders:
-General Anxiety Disorder
-Social Anxiety Disorder
-Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
-Bipolar Disorder
-Major Depressive Disorder
-Persistent Depressive Disorder
-Post Partum Depression

We've revamped AnxietyHelper to become something new - Aetheria.

AnxietyHelper turned 5 years old this year, and during that time, we've been reflecting on what is next for the app, and how the conversation around mental health has changed in general. We've revamped AnxietyHelper to become something entirely new - Aetheria. AnxietyHelper turned 5 years old this year, and during that time, we've been reflecting on what is next for the app, and how the conversation around mental health has changed in general.

When AnxietyHelper was made, the conversation around mental health was nowhere as consistent or big as the conversation is today. And with that, AnxietyHelper did the thing it was built to accomplish: to continue the conversation around mental health and provide resources. AnxietyHelper had played its role in changing the conversation, and is a reminder of the work we had to do instead of looking to the future of what we could accomplish.

But now more than ever, mentally ill people (who struggle with mental health the most) face inaccessible treatment, costs, and massive stigma. While mental health issues have become widely understood, those with more severe mental illness have not. So, we're taking the spirit of AnxietyHelper and focusing on what we think is one of the greatest issues we face today - lack of accessible treatment and help for those with mental illnesses.

From AnxietyHelper's history, we've built Aetheria - AnxietyHelper's successor. Where AnxietyHelper had less than 8 tools, Aetheria has 30. Where AnxietyHelper served 2-3 mental illnesses, Aetheria serves 18. Although we're going to miss AnxietyHelper, it's time for Aetheria to take flight and to continue providing free help to those who need it, with no strings attached. I_am_Kah,
Mostly Good, technical issues
I’ve used it for a few days and honestly its been great for helping me be more mindful of my health.

However, i do have an issue with some technical stuff.
1) I can’t tell whether I have selected something in a toolkit or not. I suggest making a more clarifying identification for when something is selected
2) After creating a crisis/relapse plan, i cannot tap on the tool without crashing the app. If that could be fixed, thatd be wonderful.
ncknm123,
Please give it a try!
i was a little iffy at first about the app given the lack of reviews/attention about it, but i am SO thankful i downloaded it! i cannot believe it’s free! so many other mental health management apps i’ve tried charge an arm and a leg just to have an account, but this one has all the features available at no cost. i love the color scheme as well, it’s very visually pleasing. calming, not too much going on or overstimulating with the palette but enough color to not seem boring or “clinical”. the tone of the text is very nice as well. it’s like the verbiage used is personable, friendly, and soothing. i cannot say enough good things about this app and i will update my review once i’ve had more experience with it!
Abbeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy,
Amazing but some problems
I was recommended this app my my therapist. It really is great for such a variety of mental illnesses, and it has amazing tools to use. However, the app will freeze occasionally and when I try to restart it, it won’t open, and I have to delete and reinstall it (which resets all my progress). In addition, the toolkit screen has a nice layout, but having to scroll through all the cards can be time consuming, maybe a grid like organization would work better. Overall this is an AMAZING app for anyone to use, and I think it can help anyone work through their diagnoses.

I love the app with the organization, options, and deaf friendly. What it needs though is better visual contrast. I have a hard time seeing the letters. Even with the contrast option on my iPhone.
aly.moonchxld,
thank you.
honestly, just going through the list of tools made me tear up- it’s been a while since I’ve felt like I had someone there for me, trying to help me manage my symptoms rather than constantly criticizing them. the design is really neat and calming, and this is the only self help app I’ve found that’s free, and yet it contains so many helpful tools. it’s just really great, thank you guys ✨
Gequin,
Wish I could use!
Used to love this app and then it started crashing every time I opened it. App is now unopenable, used to happen on my old phone and I assumed it was because it was very old and broken. Got a new iPhone and the same problem keeps happening, app will immediately crash and be unable to load, despite being updated.
Madaltude,
Love it so far but...
When ever I go to progress and hit tools it completely closes the app so I can’t review what I’ve said or what I put in the app which makes it hard to get proper use of it.
Aubrey Herron,
Read plz
I love this app but for the past couple of days I won’t let me on it it just keeps crashing
mgleeeeeen,
Great but crashes
Super helpful but crashes sometimes.
Mile37,
Doesn’t work
I used to love this app but lately the app crashes immediately. I don’t know if the passcode option is the one to blame, but needs to be fixed.
