WillyB_CO,
Super Helpful // A Daily App
Huge fan of this app. My wife and I are both outdoorsy people, often running or biking daily and camping on the weekends. This app has given us a tool to make better decisions on whether we should exercising inside or out, and what areas of our home state of Colorado have the best air quality when making weekend travel plans.
helenvetica,
Pollen feature broken
I bought this app for the pollen tracker and map, and for a year it was excellent. I was able to track all my allergies and know when I was going to have to start taking medication, and even used it to plan trips. At that time I would have given it 5 stars. But in the past month all of the pollen tracking features have slowly stopped working. I’m not even able to switch between different types of pollen anymore, and the map has disappeared. I really hope they fix this issue, because before then it was a great app, worth every penny.
bailroo,
Bad information from slick visuals
The app is nice to use but it has serious problems in the presented data. First, it’s visuals don’t correspond to air quality data from real measuring points. AirVisual IQAir has real data that you can trust. Second, it doesn’t have air quality at the resolution it presents. Because of this, it glosses over sources of smog and pollution giving the false impression that the air quality is fine beside that coal power plant. Lastly, I’m suspicious that it gets air quality data from satellites, which cannot measure smoke pollution from PM2.5. In the end, this app gives bad information on air quality and suggests that air quality is more healthy that it is, which is highly problematic. Not recommended.
Laszlo Panaflex,
Highly questionable data
UPDATE: still dangerously inaccurate readings. We are adjacent to several wildfires and air quality is bad with a strong smoky odor and visible soot blocking the sun. AirNow, PurpleAir, and the county’s AQ monitoring agency are all saying the air is hazardous and not to go outside at all. The local authorities are saying not to be outside for more than a minute without a respirator. Meanwhile, Breezometer is is displaying a “green” status and telling me the air in my area is “Good” (67).

This is extremely dangerous and irresponsible. Users’ health could be put at risk by Breezeometer’s bad data. I’m going to have to uninstall and update my rating to 1 star.

I want to like this app, but the data sources for its air quality readings do not seem to be very accurate. It is literally raining ashes outside right now, yet but the app says my area’s air quality as “moderate (55)”. All the other AQ readings (AirNow, Purple Air, BAAQMD, etc.) show the air as hazardous.

Also, it drives me nuts when the Breezometer app alerts me of an active fire just 4 miles away, but when I tap the “Learn More” button, nothin happens. This app needs a lot of work, IMO.
BlackShredGold,
Great design, slow and a pain to use
Downloaded this app since the stock weather app sources its data from it. I like how everything is laid out, the map which shows air quality around the globe, and the details of what’s in the air. However, the app is extremely slow to start, lags out a lot, and is generally unpleasant to use due to either loading or lack of optimization. I’m not on an old phone either (11 Pro Max), so it shouldn’t really perform this poorly.

I’ll come back to it when the performance issues are fixed.
Willyouhelp?,
Access to the entire photo app on my iPhone.
When I tapped the little symbol on the base of the elephant, I was unpleasantly surprised to see that this app included the entire contents of my iPhone photo app, and suggested that I pick a photo to personalize (I guess the gauge)! I immediately emailed the app and asked why in the world they needed access to my pictures and how they got them since I’d never agree to allow that. It’s been over a week and I haven’t gotten a reply, so I just deleted the app but still don’t know what they did with my photos and how and why they got them. Press that little thing on the elephant and see if they have yours !!!

Inaccurate
I originally downloaded this app because it was affiliated with the iOS Weather app and looks nice. I’ve since used Breezometer for a year now and paid $12 for premium even though I don’t know what the added benefits were. The AQI readings are inconsistent. I’ve found other apps that are free and more accurate and have more features like air quality forecasting and helpful health recommendations. Their core and most accurate feature is an air quality map of the whole world which I imagine is already publicly available data?
Arduous,
Broke for small screens
Can’t get past Terms of Service Agreement splash page. Seems to be caused by app update. It worked on this device a few months ago. Splash page extends past bottom of screen. If there is a button that needs to be cocked to proceed it is not visible on screen. Report a Problem in Apple App Store will not allow me to report quality issue for this app (maybe because it was free and there is no receipt?). Developer site does not have obvious place to submit support issues- only generic Contact Us asking for PII. So here’s a bad review as option of last resort
Funkldred,
Not Really
This app uses some type of algorithm to predict what the air quality should be in your area, not what it actually is. It does not use air monitoring devices, for instance. It is so often radically wrong as to be useless. For instance, I've seen heavy rains for 12 hours straight and still had the app tell me the air quality was poor with a heavy load of small particulate matter. Impossible! It has also told me the air was great, when it was in reality so clogged with acrid smoke from burning off the sugar cane fields that you needed to hold a cloth over your face to breathe. The app is useless. Don't waste your time with it.
Payohtee,
Nice app
So I got the app because I noticed that Apples weather app uses it to get air quality data, but for some reason the weather app shows a different result, so figured this app was more accurate.

I only gave it 4 stars because it would be nice to have a widget. One that shows both the air quality and pollen levels.
