In this idle RPG, assemble a team of Almost Heroes. Send them on adventures, into deadly dungeons, and seasonal challenges! Along the way, unlock more Hero Characters, new powerful Rings, Pets with fantastic abilities, and finally permanent Artifact upgrades to make your next run just that little bit less deadly for your Almost Heroes team.

17 absolute zeroes just waiting for you to help them become slightly good heroes. Assemble a team by choosing between your usual cannon fodder, a blacksmith dwarf, a pyromaniac, a blind wizard, a paper bagged bard, a thieving goblin, a cuddly granny, and even an angry tree! When the going gets tough, just restart your adventure by prestiging! We’re almost certain you will do better next time.

Your team fights, dies, revives, and fights again even when you are away! Just come back when you feel like to reap their rewards. Eventually using upgraded Artifacts, you can also level them up automatically. After all, what would these Almost Heroes do without your strategic guidance?

*** UNLOCK GAMEPLAY MODES ***

Your Almost Heroes keep unlocking new game modes for you to send them on. While a few Heroes are battling epic bosses in the Adventure mode, test your strategic might in timed trials! There are also weekly Seasons with tough challenges for only the foolhardy. Thankfully, you can take pets like a sheep, an armadillo, and even a spectacularly dumb pigeon into battle.

Even if your Almost Heroes don’t fight so well, they can at least look sharp while doing it! Choose from many Outfits for each hero. Upgrade their equipment to more epic versions. Give them trinkets that will help them suck a little less in battle.

Awesome game with 16 hours on record(devs please read)

The game is very good for what it is(an idle game for you check on while waiting in line at the store or while you sit upon the porcelain throne) the art is very good and the characters are unique for example one of the goblin hero’s items required to evolve him is a prosthetic leg despite him not being an amputee which is funny because it implies he stole someone’s prosthetic leg.

the only issue I have had so far is that when watching ads for diamonds there is one ad that crashes the game(its an interactive ad for world war rising) and doesn’t reward you with diamond so if the devs read this I suggest you either stop running that ad or you look into what’s causing the issue to occur because it is very discouraging as the game runs the same ad if you close the game and try again the only way to get past this is to wait a few hours before trying to watch another ad (from a business standpoint it is critical that you fix this it is incredibly discouraging to watch ads when I know I might just be wasting my time) I have tried this on an iPhone 10, iPhone 6, and a friends Samsung tab 4. I was not able to get the ad to run on the iPhone 10 so I have no idea if this happens there to but the bug does read occur on Android(granted the tab 4 is very outdated so that might just be a device issue)

In short awesome game minus the one bug.

Hoarding Potential

I love rpgs and I love idle games, especially now that I’ve seen the combination of the two. But this game has to be my favorite.
So many things to upgrade, over a thousand levels, and multiple quest types. This game really has it all and I’m happy I get to enjoy watching simple side characters rise to greatness. I love all the characters especially Vexx’s quips and Lia’s design. The only problem I have is with Redroh. Don’t get me wrong, I like most of what he has to offer like the “negotiate” and “easy targets” combo. But I’ve noticed that though he’s a treasure goblin, 6 of his skills affect gold, while 7 affect offense. I feel as though he could use a little touch up as I planned to keep him in my party. But spending his perks and items on “trade secret” and “confusing presence” feels like a big waste. I’ve even considered switching him out for Uno or another support characters, but I wanna like him. I hope you see this, and thank you for your time and game!

Very fun

This is a very fun addicting game that keeps you involved by not being involved. I really enjoy this game and the element of a clicker game mixed with an rpg. I have one suggestion for the mythical artifacts. I feel that if we were able to reroll them like we are able to do with regular artifacts then we would be able to get through the game without having to go to wave 460 and then reset for a measly ~6million mythstones then have no idea what to do with it because your mythical artifacts are all too expensive to upgrade anymore and they are all not doing much good and then all your regular artifacts are all optimized to a certain degree. I feel that even that the developers should add the ability to reroll mythical artifacts but it shouldn't be as easy as the regular ones, after all, they are mythical. I think you should be able to deconstruct them (for diamonds like the trinkets) and then get some mythstones back but then be able to craft a new one until you get one that suits your fancy. ps I love the new update and the addition of the mines and new side quests.

Nice but some issues.

Alright so for one the game is great I like it a lot but there are some problems that it has that kinda makes it worse. It won’t stop crashing for no reason whatsoever it just crashes I have no clue why but every time I open it not even 20 minutes later it will crash along with that items bought from the token shop sometimes won’t work because of the crash if I am doing a challenge and get a time freeze item from the token shop and my game crashes a minute later it will undo everything I did within that past minute except buying the item although the item is not active when it was supposed to be and it makes it frustrating when you are on a gogs or time challenges since it saves the purchase of the item but not the activation.

I would love to see this possibly get fixed if this is a problem with the game itself and not just within my system and it’s compatibly with the game.

Great game!

I previously wrote a review about the customer service which in retrospect was wrong on my behalf. I was hasty. The customer support was very helpful in fixing my payment issue.

This game is a great tap game. I've played numerous tap games in the past and this is by far my favorite. It has so much variety. Just when you're about to get bored, they introduce another aspect to the game. It's fresh and inviting. The game doesn't tell you the back story to the characters but if you go to the wiki (which can be found in settings) you can see a snippet of their origin. They even added in voice acting and a colorful cast of villains. I'm also happy that it's not a mindless tapper. You can change your rings to change the tap method. There is so much variety. I recommended to a friend and they also enjoy it. I will recommend it to more people. I hope the dev team continues to update the game with new content and possible an event mode.

Best F2P Game. Outstanding Support!

I’ve been playing Almost a Hero for about 3 years now, it is definitely my favorite application on the app store! Starting out is super simple as the tutorial is easy and clear to understand. You don’t need to pay money to progress to the top, unlike other AFK games. In addition, the artwork is beautifully vibrant and detailed. I’ve only had one problem when buying gems(said I bought it but gems weren’t in inventory). I contacted support they got back to me in ONLY 2 hours, and fixed my payment issue! The Support is consistently reliable :) If you ever get stuck there is a community discord, which is very nice and helped me whenever I reached a roadblock in the game(which was very rare). So yeah, 10/10 game would recommend to EVERYONE!

Wow!!

I got this game on a whim, as I needed something to keep me busy. Within five minutes, I was hooked with the quick and easy, yet compelling and addicting gameplay. The currency is very good, the characters are FANTASTIC, and the missions are great. I really love the design of the game, and the art work is cute and fun. I’m not into most of these games where most of the work is done away from the game, but this is different. I really enjoy this game!!

The only possible downside is the story, or should I say the lack of one.

While simplicity is part of this game’s charm, the story is hinted at just enough to be intriguing, but isn’t developed beyond that. I would like to see boss fights, character development, etc. While a great game to pick up anywhere, and a fantastic addition to any device, I do wish there was a story. Just a personal peeve though - The game is still fantastic!!! Get it - you will not be sorry!!!! 😄😄😄

Idle done right

100% not pay to win. AaH gives you plenty of free resources as well as ads to watch for gems. I’ve never felt the need to pay to progress in the game but you can pay to get resources early or by skins if that’s your thing.

This game is brimming with content. Great graphics and tons of reasons to come back every day. Adventure mode is a seemingly endless run with your heroes against increasingly difficult enemies. Challenge mode provides what the title advertises, a bunch of challenges to tackle netting you free resources. Gates of Gog giving you more various resources if you want to actively grind for them.

Rings are the best part of the game for someone who wants to actively play an idle game. Usually you just sit and hit upgrade on the next boost and wait for the next. In AaH rings provide you with a way to engage in the game and assist your heroes by tapping to deal damage, and debuff enemies.

Upgrading characters gives the a new appearance and added stats but doesn’t lock you out of the previous look. You can be a mythical hero with the starting skin for free if you prefer. This is a great idea that hurts nobody and every game should follow.

There’s much more content in the game, runes, charms, trinkets, mines, and more. Download this game and play for yourself!

Delightful fun for reductionists everywhere

All phone games are essentially tapping on the screen, says the reductionist. And all games are essentially the same grind, level by level, because it’s the productive struggle that we love. So why beat around the bush? This little ditty just does the hell out of those things without pretense. It’s exactly the same “game play” experience no matter how much you invest, with brief feelings of productivity and progress as your numbers surge, then relax again, then surge. The graphics are Munchkin-style (geeks know what I mean) and fun to mess around with. It’s cute without being cutesy. Be aware there are adorable little wolves and you have to kill them. Other than that, flawless victory for this top notch tapper.

New update

I loved this game from the moment it was built untill today’s update. I log in and see there is a new mine... cool. Only the health was taken away from the token mine, and put on the new mine. Firstly, I was already paying 10$ a month for mine boosts, now they want 15, along with spending 20k of the most important and used resource that you can’t even directly buy (I spent 15$ just to get a pack with 25k in it) and still struggle to beat gates I easily beat because not only did you health boost go back to zero from mines the new bonus is still less if that mine is the same level as the token! I spent atleast 30$ a month in this game. I will gladly spend my money on another app that doesn’t require you to backtrack and spend more money and still not even be back at the point you were.

You just updated the ring in a huge way with the update ... here’s an idea... make the new mine RING DAMAGE since rings are nearly useless. I would have thought that would be common sense.
