DS3vault - iMAC - iTUNES,
I never write reviews.
I can say the developers response to reviews is far more helpful than trying to reach customer support. However, our cameras have to be dialed in specifically to the correct settings and the link works!

I’ve taken literally one great photo and with the help of arsenal I didn’t need much post editing to get it to look better than I thought.

I give it 4 stars cause I had to resort to writing a review to get my issue addressed.
Nbenadom,
Pretty good, but still needs some work.
I’ve been using Arsenal 2 for several months now, and it is useful for a lot of different things, but the deep color feature, the main reason I got Arsenal 2, has some serious problems. You’d think that since it’s only affecting contrast, color, and exposure, the AI would be able to zero in on just those areas, but, at least on my Arsenal 2, deep color only has a clear single image if the slider is at the far left (no changes) or the far right (100% changed) only. Anything in-between is blurry and looks like multiple exposures misaligned, and many of my photos would benefit in that area between 0-100 if I’m just doing that simple adjustment in-app vs importing into Lightroom or another editing program.

I’ve been shooting astro scapes for over a decade; and I decided to try the night mode on Arsenal 2 to see what it would give me. This is another major disappointment…

If you want pinpoint stars, just stick to manual mode and learn the proper settings for your camera, latitude, aperture, and focal length… then adjust your ISO accordingly…. You can even use those settings through Arsenal 2’s app directly, and it will save you so many headaches than trying to do the night mode. Every single time I tried to do a night photo through the app’s night mode feature, it either had star trails (too long of an exposure time), or the exposure itself was too far over or underexposed to get anything useful.
Dew Boy,
Disappointing
I just got my Arsenal 2 today. I tried focus stacking using my Sony A7 RIII with very poor results. First, it takes forever to shoot the photos. You would think it could snap five photos in a matter of seconds but it actually takes several minutes. I was stunned by how long it took. From there things only got worse. I tried waiting patiently for the photos to appear in the gallery within the app and the stacked photo to be created. It never succeeded. Some of the photos would appear in the gallery but never all of them. Consequently the merged stack was never created. I waited at least ten minutes each time.
Also, the battery runs down quickly. I don’t see how you could possibly shoot a long time lapse without the battery going dead.
If this is the best I can expect I’ll be sending it back. I was so hopeful but my hopes were dashed.
ulsky503,
For now a 5 star review
Overall I love the device it’s small, easy to setup kinda, yesterday when I was doing a photo shoot only half the files saved properly for deep color, thankfully I don’t rely on that as my only method for good shots but still somewhat disappointing, the only other disappointing thing is if I have live view on it’s about 1 second delayed to my camera, overall once I get to know the features more and use it more I will like it more, the pics I’ve used in deep color are dramatically better in every way, I haven’t tried many other modes yet but I’m excited to
chadsipad,
Reviews get deleted
I gave an honest review of this app and it gets deleted. Seems as though the developers have thin skin and don’t want anyone to criticize their product. The app itself isn’t intuitive and crowd control isn’t just obvious, had to search for how to use it . The results I got with this device were just okay, they don’t look anything like the results they post on their site. The auto option on my camera Sony A7R4 does as good of job as this device and app. There is very little noticeable difference in the photos taken with Arsenal and the Auto option on my camera. Device is gimmicky and really should be just a training tool to help people learn what manual setting to use.
Sogmo,
Support is great!
This device has helped me to rediscover my love for creative photography. I took it on a trip to various national parks and really enjoyed my experience!

Unlike various other Kickstarter projects that I’ve backed over the years, my support experience with Arsenal was truly outstanding. Carol from their Helpdesk responded very quickly to my request with helpful questions instead of forms and excuses. When I eventually had to send my hardware in for evaluation, I was shipped a replacement very quickly.
oops IQ,
Trouble with Nikon D750
Can not review photos when setup for viewing in hand manual mode . tilt camera 90 degrees down after pushing power button 2 time’s quickly on arsenal . my Nikon D750 says display is not available…..was told by support to unhook the camera from arsenal then view my photos through my camera. I really would like to change this to 5 stars but can’t if I can’t properly review or use this 300 plus dollar device that sets on my desk holding papers down. While I wait how ever long for a fix or a replacement unit and cable judge for yourselves with this information in mind………………….I am willing to try a new unit exchange under warranty or refund mfg choice I guess
SDCardioDoc,
Not quite what I expected
Requires my camera to be n Aperture Priority mode and also requires me to manually set aperture on the physical camera. From there… it seems to adjust the other settings, but, the results I have seen so far look nothing like I was expecting. Not the intelligent automatic solution I was hoping for. It requires quite a bit of tinkering around to achieve a semi-decent result, and thus far, I’ve been able to achieve far better results with basic scene intelligent settings on my native camera that require far less hassle and effort.
Bixmen,
Not ready
I bought the phone mount with my Arsenal. It causes the images to be upside down or portrait depending on camera rotation. I can keep live view on the camera and watch the live view on my phone do just stupid maneuverers that the camera doesn’t. Add to the fact that this seems to offer all the features of the free Nikon app with the added headache of additional hardware, I’m not impressed.

—edit
The handheld mode has been added but it is STILL lacking features showcased on their website. Still not ready for release after more than a year of delays. They attributed delays to part shortage, so why is the software not finished?
mace0770,
Will it ever work?
Spent two months back and forth on emails, the fastest way to solve things, just to end up in the same place. Constantly disconnects from the camera. I would love to enjoy photography once again and use this for what it’s worth. The customer service won’t come to terms I just need a replacement. I took their advice, applied it, over and over again just for the same results. If anyone is interested in this product and would like to purchase it from me please contact me.
